Just hit 37 weeks!! I have had all three of my other children at 38 weeks... This is getting real he will be here soon!! So excited but feeling super anxious, I've got everything ready it's just all the unknown and known... I've been in labor three times which sometimes makes it scarier because you know what is coming. But you also know the result and how amazing it is ... Feeling such a mix of emotions. But for the first time not having the "get this baby out now" stuff that I had with previous pregnancies. I think because I know also this is my last baby. I want him to come when it's the right time. Anyone else ?? Excited and anxious!!
36 weeks and my husband has the flu. Was working outside in the cold all day and now has a fever, sniffles, sore throat, etc. I got my flu shot already he was going to get his this week....
Bring on the Lysol, hand sanitizer and prayers. Ugh
@claireloSC - That sucks about her being breech now! Is your dr going to try to adjust her or wait and see if she turns again? My LO has been frank breech this whole time and we're getting an ultrasound on Thursday (36 weeks + 4) to see if she's moved and, if not, see what our options are.
Hope your little one moves back to being head down soon!
Thank you @maureenmce! After I wrote that, I did some forward leaning inversions from spinning babies. Went back to the doctor and she's heads down again! She hadn't been breech for long, she was heads down at my 32 week appointment. I just hope she stays that way now! Will your doctor do an ECV? I'm not sure mine would as I have cysts that might complicate things. Hopefully I won't have to worry about it. Have you tried anything to her to turn heads down?

@claireloSC - Oh, that's awesome news! I haven't tried anything yet (other than moving around on an exercise ball, which I do for my sciatic nerve anyway) because my doctor told me that it's likely she would move by the 36 week mark anyway. But if she's still hanging out frank breech, we're going to discuss my options on Thursday. As far as I can tell from our conversations so far, my doctor may have me try some movements (spinning babies style stuff) on my own and, if that doesn't work, she may consider trying an ECV, as long as the baby or I don't have any risk factors that are revealed in the upcoming ultrasound. (My pregnancy is technically high risk, but that's due to age and a thyroid autoimmune disease, so it shouldn't have any impact on this issue.)
I'm kind of nervous about the prospect of an ECV because I heard it hurts and also because sometimes babies have reasons for sticking in breech position (cord related or other things.) But I'm hoping to try it if my doctor thinks it's safe.
@maureenmceI hope this isn't annoying, but I might try the inversions if I were you. I only had to do two to get her to move! Can't hurt and might be a nice, natural, less invasive way to move your little girl. Of course, if she's determined to be heads up due to a short cord or whatever, better safe with a c-section than anything else! That being said, the longer a baby is breech the harder it might be for her to turn so maybe it is a short cord or something like that. Yeah ECV definitely has some risks, like causing pre-term labor, but they will monitor you during so you can be sure if anything crazy happens they'll take care of you. ECVs are usually done around 37 weeks, because waiting to week 38+ has less of a chance of working. Due 1/22. 37 weeks. This pregnancy has been miserable and I can't wait to be done. We bought a house in early December and have been renovating! We hope to move in next weekend. I hope baby stays put until then so I can get things situated.
Hi everyone! Great to see all the late Jan mums on here makes the wait a bit more bearable! I'm 37+3 due 20/1. Finally finished at work which I am glad about as I'm tired and sleeping a lot in the day now, plus sacro-iliac joint pain is a killer and it hurts to bend down/walk/get out of bed etc. Swimming is a great relief though I'm very fortunate that I get a long maternity leave (I'm in the uk) so I am really very impressed with those of you working up until near the end...hang on in there! Also don't know about any of you but I'm snoring terribly and the whole house can hear it!!! Cannot wait to meet baby now and just excited about when labour finally kicks off...but doesn't feel like it will happen any time soon... X
Also I've no idea about progression of cervix etc as we don't do that in the U.K. Until you are actually in labour generally...although I know head is fixed so starting to drop!

Cervix checks are pretty much bullshit anyway. You can walk around dilated to a 3 for weeks or be at a 1 and go into labor that same day.

This. I am feeling so tired too! I don't have a snoring problem but I drool a ton all of sudden when I'm sleeping now. It's so embarrassing!

I'm in the US, and my MW says she won't do a cervix check until I'm in labor as well. I am so grateful because I hear they can be somewhat uncomfortable and still won't give me an answer as to when this boy is coming. All I know is he is head down. I'm definitely feeling that since it feels like he's doing b-boy head spins down below
I'm due mid-Jan but feel like it's forever away as well. Anywho, no cervix checks over here either. Doc hasn't offered and even if he does I'll decline as I know it means pretty much nothing. The only way I'll say yes is if we get to the point of induction talk to see if my cervix is favorable. That's about it.
Ha yes the drooling!! I get that too! very attractive!
On cervix checks I think you ladies are right it doesn't tell you much anyway and probably best to just try to relax and wait for nature to take its course unless there is a problem requiring close monitoring.
Wishing you all a lovely week ahead and hope you get some rest ahead of babies arriving xxx
I am due January 22nd but I won't go past the 19th because of GD and hypertension. At least I have an eviction date! Lol but after seeing all these adorable babes being born it's making me very anxious to meet our little one. It's great to know there are other mommas in the same boat.
Hey all, So I'm being induced on Wednesday ( I'll be 37 weeks ) due to my preeclampsia! I feel really excited but anxious/nervous !!! Hoping for a smooth labour but I've read some pretty crazy stories about being induced and having way worse contractions then natural labour I'm a FTM and eeek can't believe the end is near!
My due date is 1/22. i am so ready to go now. I am 37 weeks and 2 days. Im not sleeping well and no matter what I eat I have heart burn. Im just ready to meet our baby and hold her next to me. I keep telling my husband that I want our lives to be separate now. He doesnt get it at all because he loves the belly.
Anyone else feel like their baby/bump is going through a major growth spurt? I'm 36 weeks today and I knew that baby would be adding some serious size in the last 4 weeks but holy cow, I feel like my bump grew a very large amount since just last night. I'm having pain in my back and sides because of the stretching feeling of the quick growth and I have been exhausted all day. Where is the fast forward button???

THIS! I posted a while back about measuring small/behind. I had to have a growth scan to make sure things were fine. But I swear baby has grown a ton in the last week. (I was supposed to have an appointment tomorrow morning but my midwife just called to reschedule it. There's been freezing rain here and she doesn't want me driving in the morning, which I appreciate.) I'm SUPER curious to see how much growth I have had this week but guess I'll have to wait a few more days. I'm 37 weeks. I know there is a lot of growth at the end.
Ah, 1:50 AM.... So we meet again... officially 37 weeks and I'm so over these contractions and back pain. Gimme an epidural and let's get this over with.
I'm 36+5. Due 1/27. Can't wait to meet my little guy. I haven't had any contractions. I had horrible SPD for two days, but now it's gone. I think he moved back up, because I feel much less pressure now. It's so weird to feel this much range of motion in my hips without hurting, because I've ached and had hip pain for so long.
Had my 36w appt today...cervix is thinning but no dilation yet (a-okay with that, I still have 3-5 weeks to go!), head is nice and low, she's a healthy but small weight, basically all good things for being where I am. No contractions yet, which I'm thankful for since it's too early for her to come and I have no interest in feeling them until I have to, haha. Aching back and baby simultaneously all up in my cervix and ribs, but nothing worth complaining about too much without feeling guilty since I know I've had an easy pregnancy.
Just got back from my 37 week apt, due on Jan 24th. baby girl is very low in the pelvis and I've been contracting on and off for a few days so I'm hoping she's prepping for her grand entrance sooner rather than later, like the rest of you ladies I'm getting pretty uncomfortable and am just excited to meet my baby girl!
I'm due Jan 26th...today's appt, doc scheduled my cs for Jan. 19th.. I am 36w7d now, but measuring 40 wks now..and estimated weight of baby is 7lb6oz right now..holy cow, 2 more weeks???
I'm due Jan 28 and I feel as if this trimester is going to go on forever! I have a terrible snoring issue and I feel so bad for my husband! He works early in the mornings and I always offer to sleep on the couch because I know it bothers him. But he insists I stay in bed. I think it's the weight I put on because I wasn't really a snore-er.
37 week appointment today and I was 1.5 cm and 60% effaced. At least all these contractions are doing SOMETHING. Hoping he will be born on Friday for my own selfish reasoning (it's Elvis Presley's birthday and I was raised a massive fan).
My late January baby just became an early January baby. My water broke in the middle of the night on January 2 and she was here 6 hours later! Official announcement is on the sticky.
Just had my 36 week appt today. 1cm dilated. Cervix is still high and long and baby is still high. I've been having menstrual like cramps pretty badly at night the past 2 nights that wake me up. The doctor says its probably one of my labor symptoms (since everyone is different) and they will probably keep going on. No BH yet. Just happy to hear I'm a little bit dilated with all this cramping.
Best news was that I didn't gain any weight over Christmas and New Year's…WIN!
Jan 29th due date.....went for my 36 week appointment today.....baby is not engaged and no dialation.. sigh. And I had a growth scan today.....baby is measuring 8lb 4oz today on the growth scan, so I sure hope something start progressing soon!!
I missed my last week's appointment and I am feeling anxious about going tomorrow. I'm pretty sure nothing is going on though. Today I thought I was having a contraction or maybe my first bh...but it turns out I just needed to poop. EVERYTIME I think something might be happening, it's just gas or poop. Siiiiiiiigh.
By the time my husband left for work this morning, the first of the El Nino storms had hit LA, where we live - our whole neighborhood was flooded, our dog refused to be walked, it was basically a disaster. Frazzled and running late, he gives me a hug and kiss and then looks at me super seriously and says "Do NOT go into labor today." I still am laughing about this. I was like, "Okay, no problem, cause I totally can control that."
I mean, it would be super unlikely anyway, since I'm 36 weeks and 2 days, and I know he was just stressed about how insane it would be to drive his normal hour plus commute in the crazy rain traffic, trying to get to the hospital, but yeah, I can't control labor with my mind, my love.
@maureenmce omg you're me in a different body! I'm in So Cal and it's so flooded and my dogs were driving me insane. I could not go for a walk let alone convince them to go outside! The pug puppy chewed up a pee pee pad and luckily my husband came home from work because I was so stressed out! I gave myself a headache and ate half a cheesecake to try and cope with the stress. I'm 36 weeks and 5 days and my husband yells at my belly for her not to come out today or this week during the storm. Like okay hubby she got it
I just spotted this thread and I am so glad that it exists! I thought that I was due on the 28th, because that is what I was told by one dr. Then the other day my Dr. told me I am actually due on the 31st. I know its only two days, but I was still a little bummed. I'm SO ready for this pregnancy to be over, it's my first and most likely my last. I've never dealt with depression but I'm pretty sure I've been experiencing prenatal depression for the last 6-7 months. I'm very excited to be a mother, but haven't handled pregnancy very well at all. I've also turned into an insomniac which is not helping! I'm a little worried that I'm going not going to go into labor and will have to be induced around 42 weeks. I think I'm just worried about any and everything lol. I've been nesting like crazy and can't stop cleaning my house, so that is a plus! I'm in Massachusetts, so it's now just after 230 and I'm losing faith in getting sleep tonight.
I'm feeling this late January dates more and more. I too was never a snoring person and now every morning my boyfriend is like can you snore any more or any louder. It's not my fault with all this extra weight! Lol I'm nervous as all hell but I am just ready for her to be here. I just know with my luck since I've carried so well and haven't had any real problems like my feet just started swelling at 35 weeks, that she's not gunna come and I have to be induced. I'm hoping not. I'm 37 weeks today and she's due on the 27th. So hopfully she comes and everyone has an easy healthy delivery
It's interesting that some people find cervix checks painful or uncomfortable...I literally didn't even feel mine, he basically just stuck a finger up there like a normal gyno exam and after 2 seconds was like "oh hey she's low and you're thinning but no dilation yet" and I was like oh I didn't even realize you were doing anything lol
