Ditto on planning a babymoon and getting more exercise. Hoping now that I'm in the second tri, I'll have more energy for that. Other than that, I'm not resolving to make other changes. I already cut out coffee and am eating healthier, so I don't see a need to do much more. Pregnancy makes you make so many changes already, I'm not about to hop on the resolution wagon, ha!
I definitely need to start eating healthier and getting some exercise since my energy is finally starting to return! Hopefully I can find some good prenatal yoga
I usually don't do resolutions, I do "desires" which sounds silly, but it helps me focus on what I really want.
So 2016 desires: Healthy baby (duh) Ace the four college courses I doubled up on in the beginning of next year so that I only have one class going at a time once the kid's here Work as much OT as I can stand so I have as much saved as possible before baby is here Sleep
This is a fun thread! I want to try and not lose myself in becoming a mom. This is my first baby, and I'm already catching myself being totally consumed with baby stuff at the expense of everything I enjoyed before--baby books instead of novels, birth month clubs with other moms instead of phone calls with lifelong friends, baby registry shopping instead of decorating my new house. It's so fun to think about baby, of course, but I just don't want to forget about me and my life before.
I'm going to say my resolution is to live a bit more unfiltered. I have heard too many friends comparing themselves to peoples Instagram and Facebook and feeling bad about themselves that they aren't a good friend or a good mom. I try to remember people post their highlights and their low-lights not the in between-lights. I'm not sure if my unfiltered is going to mean posting more between-lights or posting less and looking less. I'm trying to figure that out before the 31st
Stop wasting so much food- I swear that during my weekly fridge cleaning, that I throw at least $20 of food out. I bet we waste easily over a thousand dollars of food a year. (This was my resolution for the past couple of years, but I keep failing!)
I have a long list of things I want to do ... One major one is to get myself on a consistent sleep schedule. I know that's kind of laughable with a baby coming but I want to have a practice of some morning time to myself so the best time to start is now!
I also want to start exercising consistently again. And I want to start a small business of some sort. I also want to move to a different neighborhood.
1) Finish booking our Babymoon (Puerto Vallarta!) 2) Start a Will and Testament 3) Exercise more. Walking still counts! 4) Attend baby/birthing classes 5) Get a prenatal massage 6) Stop worrying about everything
Re: New Year's (and New Mom!) Resolutions
2. Start researching college savings
3. Life insurance
4. At least try to exercise
