Possibly TMI, but is anyone else experiencing discomfort/pain/ tenderness in their vaginal area?

Mine is intermittent and hard to describe. Sometimes it feels like an itch and other times it feels like my vulva has just swelled a bit. Other times it fee ls more like an achy pain in my labia.

I've never (to my knowledge) had an yeast infection so perhaps that is the source of my discomfort. But I've also read that this can happen in pregnancy. I'm having pains in my butt occasionally too.

I'm a FTM so any advice would be appreciated!

Lightening crotch. Oh so much fun. :/

You could get checked out to make sure but if there is no discharge and it's sporadic, just one of the not talked about pregnancy symptoms.

  • I've been getting weird/unexplained and intermittent vaginal pain too- I'm pretty sure it's normal. I've had yeast infections and UTIs before that's not what these are (for me anyway). If it's worrisome I would mention it at your next OB appt- better safe than sorry

  • @tripledaggerwed95976 and @countrygrl5533, Thanks so much for your responses.

I don't have any real discharge and it does not burn when I urinate so I don't quite know what to think. I will of course check in with the midwife/ ob-gyn at my next appointment but is very reassuring to hear that at least a couple of other folks are dealing with this!

  • @JoMunson , Thanks for your response. It is helpful to hear my experience is not uncommon. And you clearly picked up on the fact that I am a big worrywart! Happy New Year's Eve!
  • Yep. I'm a STM and had it the first time too. It sucks. Just another joy of being pg :)

Thanks doozer1345! I am learning just how uncomfortable being pg can be... sigh.

  • @kakip I think it's just so by month 7 or 8 you're manically ready to have your body back. That or a cruel joke bc Eve couldn't help herself.

I have always said that pregnancy is designed just right to make us look forward to labor. There is also a lot of blaming Eve here. Both in pregnancy and during a particularly bad period.

  • Achy labia here too. I had forgotten about it. I had it for a while after having DD as well, I wonder if it has something to do with the pelvic floor getting stretched.
  • @araecasey I'm wondering that too. As I'm sitting at work right now it just feels like she's laying on my cervix opening. It's sending shock pains through my labia too.
