• Month/Cycle: 12/15 or 16ish

CD/DPO: 26/8

Timing: -1,0

Testing Plans: Fought the urge to test last night - tomorrow morning if AF does not arrive first

R/R/CS: This is my first full month of TTC post-polyp removal. I went to the RE last week to confirm that I ovulated and that everything else looks good. It was 1 or 2 days dpo then and my lining, egg, and hormones looked fine, but she suggested I take an HCG shot a week after ovulation, because my luteal phase has previously been short. I broke down, because I really want to try to do this naturally for a bit now that the polyp is gone and see what my cycle is like without it. In the past I would start my period 7-9 dpo. Every twinge makes me wonder, menstrual cramp or implantation. I was carrying heavy luggage yesterday and at one point last night fell on my ass, which made me think "there goes your chances." This process makes you second guess everything. I am wondering if I messed up by not taking the HCG shot last night. I am totally open to it further down the line, but not yet. Also, the RE said stress can cause a luteal phase issue and said I need to get stressful thoughts out of my head... how does one do that? Meditation? Yoga? Exercise? Bad t.v.? Wine? Work has been very stressful this month and I still managed to ovulate; so shouldn't my progesterone be able to get in line even with my obsessive thoughts?

GTKY: What is your New Year's resolution?? Do more fun and enjoyable things. Read more. Write better. Drink less. Exercise more. Relax more. Cook more. Swear less. Be kinder. Be more positive. Enjoy friends and family. Be less impulsive. Eat healthier and less. Reach out to others.

• Quick question: Who temps during the TWW? Does anyone choose not to? Pros and cons of each?

I did last cycle and overanalyzed every.single.temp. Thinking about not temping during the TWW this cycle.

@jparli I was actually thinking about the same thing. This is my first month temping and it definitely helped to ease my mind with timing and confirming O, but now I am beginning to do the same thing. The first three days after O I have had a flat line temp, and I am already beginning to obsess over it. I think that the temp throughout the cycle helps FF to analyze and predict your cycles better, but I'm not sure. If it isn't really necessary for those purposes, you might have to consider if it is more beneficial to you to keep your stress level down or to take it with a grain of salt and try not to look too far into the temps. I'm in the same spot as you with that decision.
• @jparli I temp all cycle long, especially during the TWW. That way I can see if my temp drops (which it usually does the day before AF).

Month/Cycle: 7/7

CD/DPO: 25/8 (FF says) I think it's 25/7 because my temps were thrown off by sleeping on a cold air mattress for 4 nights.

Timing: If O was when I think it was, then -2,-1, and 0

Testing Plans: I'm going to wait until Friday at the earliest. In theory.

R/R/CS: Had ultiple extended family members ask me when I was going to bring a baby to visit. Externally I smile and laugh and say, "Not yet!", but internally I'm upset. I'm working on it, geez!!! DX

GTKY: What is your New Year's resolution?? I don't usually do these. I have thought about getting an art journal though.

CD/DPO: 30/16

Timing: -1

Testing Plans: I tested at 12 dpo, and got what I thought was a super faint line, but it was a blue dye test. Tested with a digital not using FMU and got a bfn. Haven't tested again yet, might tomorrow if no AF

R/R/CS: hoping not to see AF, I've never been this late before

GTKY: What is your New Year's resolution?? Not stressing so much over small stuff
• Thanks, ladies. In my first cycle (on 2 now), my temp didn't drop until the day after AF came, so it was a total mind tease. I'm thinking one more cycle for FF has more data, and if no BFP this month, I'll take off next. Thanks, again!

(Also, I just typed all that into the "Search Discussion" bar. Yikes)

R/R/CS: Finally ovulated! I kind of dipped out of this board for a while since it was getting old sitting in WTO for so long. Plus I had my birthday and with Christmas last week, I was pretty busy! Here's to hoping my TWW is actually close to 2 weeks...

GTKY: What is your New Year's resolution?? I don't have one yet. I've been thinking about it but I'm not sure. If I make one, I want to be measurable so I can hold myself more accountable.

• Ugh, I am dumb and tested this afternoon when I got home. Undeniable BFN. What is wrong with me?! On the other hand, I think I needed it to just let go of this cycle and move on to thinking about next time. At least I'll get to drink on New Years!

@KDHB13 Wow that is a rough way of putting the medical orders. Sorry your appointment was underwhelming!

Congratulations @CClark2014! H&H 9 months!

@jparli I temp during the TWW also, I like to see when AF will start.

Month/Cycle: 2/1 (3 cycles NTNP)

CD/DPO: 32/11

Timing: -5, -3, -1, O

Testing Plans: I guess if AF holds off long enough it would be prudent to test on NYE, but I'm not trying to get my hopes up here.

R/R/CS: I was off of work last week, which was nice, but coming back I feel a little bit rough in the catch-up department, a little like this:

Also, my last LP was 11 days, so I'm waiting on AF, but don't feel any cramping, or anything at all for that matter. AF has been known to sneak in sans cramps though, like a sanguineous little uterus ninja.

GTKY: What is your New Year's resolution?? I don't usually do these, but I have pretty bad anxiety and was thinking maybe taking steps for positive self-treatment (exercise, eating well, and stopping negative thoughts) may be a good general idea.

• Okay... Another question.

Cycle 1 I THINK I had EWCM. This cycle I had a *tiny* amount on CD 15. With that and my temps, FF says I O'd on CD 15. My issue is, I'm not 100% sure if it's EWCM. I just don't know my body enough yet.

When I take out the EWCM, my CH move back to CD 12.

I know it doesn't matter a ton, but I'd like to get the most accurate data for next month if I need it. Can anyone take a look?

https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/39762c

• @jparli It looks like CD15 to me from the temp shift. Are you using OPKs? I find them helpful as a secondary moreso that CM...
• @AndiPandi127, haven't yet. Probably will next cycle so it's not *as* confusing!

• @MNturnsVA You are my new hero for writing and completing that! As to my LP - last cycle it was 12 days (I believe) so if that's the case this cycle, it'd have me testing on 1/4. That's more doable then trying to muster up enough willpower to go to 1/11. Good luck with your NYE plans - i'm sure they'll work out well. Keep to your wants though - no TGIF!!! :)
• @MNturnsVA that's a pretty impressive post!!! Sorry to hear you're frustrated, hopefully your temps tomorrow will look up and defo no TGI FRidays on NYE!!

@MNturnsVA thanks for the kind words and support. Fx'ed for both of us soon!
I had roughly half my cervix removed a year ago and the doctor went over how it could affect pregnancy but never discussed getting pregnant. (I never asked either) and just recently read that if it didn't heal properly, it could be preventing sperm from getting past it. Figure I may as well get it checked and ask about other tests that she may think are warranted to make sure everything is functioning normally.

Eta: what does a post coital cm test do? Is that if they think cm is preventing pregnancy?

• @MNturnsVA My 2 cents (for what it's worth) is that you should definitely go for the promotion at work, especially since it's a trial run anyway for now. If you make decisions based on possibly being pregnant, you might be setting yourself up for heartbreak and regret if you reach that 6 weeks and still aren't pregnant. I hope and pray that your CM is the issue and your first IUI will do the trick. But what if it's not the issue? I have unexplained infertility and have no health issues. I thought for sure my short luteal phase was my issue (8 days) so I totally thought my first round of Clomid would do the trick. It didn't. I have low expectations for this month as a result. Infertility is such a crapshoot. You could still be trying months and months down the road and you would be mad at yourself that you didn't give the new job a shot. I say go for the promotion and kick some ass. That way, if you do end up getting KU fairly quickly, they won't mind the maternity leave as much.

• @sarah0985- oh wow!! I would definitely be asking questions if I were you for further testing & how your surgery could be affecting things! I'm so sorry to hear that!! And yes, the post coital CM test checks to see if you have friendly or hostile CM & they do it during FW because that's when you should be producing friendly or ideal CM. the 1st RE we saw said based on the tests we'd done at the point I saw him ( blood tests for me to check hormone levels, HSG, & SA) that we'd be best to start off with IUI. I knew my DH was not going to be happy to hear this & he wasn't. I wasn't either. I had made an appt for a 2nd opinions. The 2nd RE is the one who ordered the post coital test. He did say they were an "old school" test but I figured why not? Plus I knew that my DH was going to want more answers rather than just jumping into IUI, especially since we'd only been trying for 6 months @ that point. I usually O anywhere from CD 18-20 & you can schedule the test in advance based on that (which I did) or you can wait till you turn an OPK & they work you in the schedule (depending on the dr I suppose). So we had sex on the night of CD 17 & I went to the RE the next afternoon. They do a swab, like a Pap smear & an internal U/S. He said based on what he saw in the U/S it looked like I had already O'd. Which I had turned the OPKS position within a 48 hour? Time frame before test. My temps would also confirm O for CD 17. So when he looked @ the sample he took on the swab from my cervix it showed non swimming sperm. He said it could have been because I had already O'd so technically we did the test too late because CM can change quickly following O. So we are going to do CD 15 I think this month. If the test this month is negative again then we are going to wait until at least March to do IUI which is the starting point for hostile CM. it just eliminates the bad CM & environment so it's not an issue by bypassing the CM. with all my job stuff up in the air we didn't want To jump into IUI just yet. So depending on what the next few days bring (I'm 110% expecting AF just because I have a very hard time thinking otherwise based on everything else & I won't be so disappointed if I expect the worst) we'll test again just to be sure & go from there.
• @MNturnsVA My LP is typically 13 days. So I didn't go with a blood test, but they decided to do a basic urine test. BNF. On top of that, my Dr decided to tell me that I'm not ready to be pregnant yet. I think, in her own way, she was trying to make me feel less stressed but COME ON. I left in tears. Ugh!
• @Lin&say- we've had a few other tests done so I would agree, anything is possible. The 1st RE said unexplained infertility even though we'd only been TTC for 6 months at the point we had all of our tests done. So I'm not really sold on the unexplained infertility diagnosis but rather it could take a lot longer without assistance. I just skimmed through the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant & it said for women over 35 (that's me, 35) it can take up to 2 years to get pregnant. So, there is that too.....we shall see. I appreciate your thoughts, you helped me put my head back on straight!! Thank you!
• Wow thanks for the thoughtful post @MNturnsVA! It really does make a difference. I've been wanting to do more responding but have often used work as an excuse. I'm off this week so will try more!!

As for your questions - my temp always drops around 8DPO (or in this case, 9DPO) and then goes back up for a few days until it does the death drop just before AF. Haha. At first I used to get my hopes up that this was an implantation temp drop, but I know better now. My LP is usually 11-12 days. As for the trip, I'm visiting my best friend, who is pretty much the only person besides DH (and you ladies!) who knows that I am TTC. So if I test there and get a BFN or BFP I would be comfortable having her there. I don't want to wait to test until I get back home since it'll be NYE and I want to know whether or not I can "properly" ring in 2016 or have to fake drink since we will be with friends.

And for what it's worth, I definitely agree with PPs that you should go for the promotion! I was often afraid to take this step because of work but I realize now that if you are good at what you do, people will figure it out. Don't feel guilty! And with any luck, Murphy's law will kick in and you'll be KU shortly after. ;)

• @AFwife566 ***Lurking from WTO*** Sorry about your BFN. :P I get the sil gift thing. Mine is great, but my brother's was awful and now they're actually divorced. Sucks for the kids, but she was pretty terrible anyway, hate to say. Any way you slice it, $10/$20 total is cheap! How many DRINKS can you get for $20? We spent well over $100 on our two neices, including the $30 white elephant they ended up getting (Jenga and vintage Candy Land) and I mean, c'mon. It's not about the money, but You. Feel. Good. when you see them coloring in their new books or twirling in their new princess dress! I think some people sadly miss out on the whole, "Joy of Giving," concept.
• I know it was not about the money spent. She gave me two $5 gc. One for each kid. It was not even wrapped and she did not even give it to my kids. Their cousin had a box of stuff to play with.

I was just irritated that she dropped $20 on 3 mixed drinks at dinner before we went back to my house to open gifts. They even got a $400 Christmas bonus. All I know is next year will be the year we goose not to exchange gifts for each other's kids!
