Just so you ladies with name problems know, my son has the most bland name ever (Paul, after my husband) and I hear constantly "Why did you pick Paul? That's not a very common name." I call him P for short because we have many Pauls in our family and I hear it about that too. "Oh you can't call him P, kids will make fun of him because they will think pee." I thought the name judgment was supposed to stop after the baby had the name and nothing could be done lol. But it seems like all there is these days is judgement. Wtf
My family won't even call my sons by their first names (Julian & Andrew) instead they use their middle names (Xadrian & Jax) I do not understand why they don't it's annoying, I love my sons middle names obviously, that's why I chose them. But when I was pregnant supposedly Xadrian & Jaxon was to hard to pronounce. But these r the people who wanted me to name my second Alexavion. My 3 yr old hardly answers anyone cuz they don't use his first name lol
Our LO is named Carolyn. It is a family name. My uncle cannot get it right he keeps calling her Carolina. It is not that hard, she is the third Carolyn. DS is George, he is two. My MIL still tells me all the time that it is an old man name, the judgment never ends.
People have a hard time with Rhys' name and pronouncing it (like Reece). It's not the traditional spelling in the US, but is very common in the UK. My name is Lorna (Scottish origin) and I like the connection with the Welsh origin of Rhys. I've also grown up with a first and maiden name that no one could pronounce or spell, so I honestly don't care what others think about it.
Also, I wish people would stop questioning my decision to EP. The baby is getting breast milk, so step off. But if I was BFing, I'd get it for doing it in public. And if I eventually decide to give it up or my supply runs out, I'll be judged for FFing. Please, just stop.
I had taken my son to the pediatrician and after his appointment he was crying because he was hungry. The waiting room has a nice little nook no one was sitting in and there was practically no one in the waiting room anyways, so I decided to feed him before heading out to the car. I EP cause he's got a bad latch, so it was a bottle so I didn't have the whole public breast feeding thing to worry about. He's happily eating away when some woman sits down beside me. Starts making small talk with me like "he just here for a check up?" And I told her no, we were there for a couple issues. Then she says to me "you know, breastmilk is so much better for them. If you breastfed him you probably wouldn't be here."
Woah lady. First of all, my sons diet is none of your business. Second, he eats exclusively breastmilk, it's just not from the tap and even if he were formula fed, that is completely okay, too. But you are right, if I were able to feed him at the breast I probably wouldn't have been there, but only because I'm pretty modest and would've gone out to the car to feed him.
I EP as well and I have gotten judgement for bottle feeding. I can't help it that my LO had a bad tongue tie and had a terrible latch. We did everything we could. I choose to pump but if or when I get tired of it I'll FF and I'm sure I'll get judgement for that as well. You just can't win now a days!

Rhys is one of my favorite names for a boy. It's at the top of my list if we have a boy. I also prefer the welsh spelling. I have (distant) ties to Wales and lived there for a year making it even more cool for me.

I was adopted so was formula fed and turned out perfectly fine! People are so judgemental, you are right, whatever we do is never good enough or the "right" choice. Smh

I find it so interesting when people say "that's a old man/woman name". My LO was supposed to be named Florence after my great aunt but we used it as her middle name instead. It was a last minute change so I heard that same line my whole pregnancy and all I could think was she won't be a baby forever, most of her life she will be an adult so I would rather her have an adult name then something like Princess (no offense to anyone with this name, I had a college classmate named Princess)
My daughter has a boys name, but spelled girly. It's kelbie. People say something about it all the time. I got so tired of it I just say "my child, my choice"
mom: You're patting her back too hard to get the burp out!
Really mom! Is that why you are never able to burp her and when you watch her for only an hour, you go through 4 outfits all soaked in spit up and she's screaming bloody-murder from the gas pain?
Christmas Day we went to see Daddy's Home (great movie by the way) and took LO with us. I say that another bumpie had taken their LO to the theater with success so I figured we could give it a try. It was her nap time so she was dead asleep during the whole movie (we wouldn't have taken her if we didn't think she would nap) but she woke up towards the end to eat. Didn't cry, just started looking for the boob so I fed her. About 15 minutes in the guy in front of me turns around and tells me to "get a room". I was furious. Not only were we not distrubing the movie what so ever, how dare he make such a sexually geared comment towards me feeding my child. I was not topless, I had a blanket covering most of me and it was dark in the theater. I've seen way worse from couples getting it on in the theaters than a woman breastfeeding her child.
@sadyy131 did you kick him in the back of the head? I would have kicked him. Even if you didn't have a cover on that is still NONE of his business whether you're feeding your baby in the theatre. The nerve of some people!

My mom is the same way. I constantly have to take him to burp him. Then she makes comments saying I am doing it to hard. I think he is more comfortable with firm back patting then trapped gas, since you know he isn't screaming.

My grandpa would flinch when I burped LO! Like can u be more exaggerated? I told my family if u see how rough the nurses are with a few hours old baby in the hospital then you would realize they aren't as breakable as people act like they are.

What a....well I don't think I can legally say the words I want to say! Ugh. Some men are disgusting pigs. Wow. I can't imagine someone saying that to me! I probably would've ended up in jail lol. I would've taken off my belt and threw it right over his neck! Ok too much...but I definitely would've played the scenario out in my head several times lol.

Omg! That's a horrendous thing to say. What a...well I don't think I am legally allowed to use the words I want...so I'll say what a disgusting pig! I can't imagine someone saying that to me!!! I probably would have ended up in jail lol! I would have taken my belt off and threw it right over his neck! Hahahaha! That's exactly what I tell my mom about the nurses. They have no time to mess around and wait for that burp.

I second this. The nurses at my hospital were so rough especially trying to get LO to latch when I was struggling with breast feeding. But now, I apprently still wipe her too hard. And don't even get me started on the burping lol I feel you.
@sadyy131 I hope you told him that you could legally Breast feed wherever the F you wanted and only choose to cover up out or respect for others...
I gave him the finger and "accidentally" pressed my feet against his seat for the rest of the movie. Gave him something to really feel uncomfortable about lol.

So I live with BD and his family. And it's so annoying they always try and tell me he needs to eat when he clearly does like the pacifier. They are just always trying to tell me how to raise him. I'm so fustrated cause BD doesn't so nothing about it he insist on going by what they say & nothing I say matters I'm just fed up!!
People asking me if i had him circumcised. No i didnt. Worry about your own naughty bits, not my son's. Why do you want to know what his peepee looks like anyways.
@LydianG I get that too! Thought it was really strange, at first I would tell them we didn't and then they would want to know why-wtf. So now I just say it's NYB, and then they look confused and I say "none yo bidness" some ppl!
