Kinda similar to PP, but my Braxton hicks seem to never go away. Last night at work I was seating a table and I actually had to stop walking because it took my breath away a little. All night last night I would have to just stop working for a second and breathe through it or go sit down. They're not super painful, so I know it's not labor contractions, but they're uncomfortable, and he always kicks me in my side during them (nothing like a foot sticking out when you're trying to have a conversation with some customers). It just sucks cus I'm planning on working 2 more weeks and I don't see this getting any better, and I'm literally on my feet all day long, 7 hours with no break. I'm gonna die.
Sidenote/ question- I went in for my checkup last week and she said I wasn't dilated but my cervix was softened. Is that what effaced means?
After 3 days of 8 minute apart contractions only dilated to 2 cm, my water finally broke this morning. At the hospital now waiting for my sweet baby girl.
I am 38 Weeks with baby #2. My first was born in the US and this time I am in the UK being looked after by midwifes and specialist.
I have yet to have one vaginal exam.... is that normal? I am.being monitored for small baby as it just below the 10th % but they are happy at this time to let me go to term... I'm so ready to get this baby out as I am so uncomfortable!! Back pain and tightness all the time and baby seems soon low.

By vaginal exam, do you mean something like a cervix check? My OB won't be checking my cervix until 39 weeks at the earliest.
@kimberlyoxley I will have my first cervical exam on Wednesday which I will be 38 weeks 6 days. They typically don't do cervical exams until 38 weeks. My last appointment they did not check me because I was only 37 weeks 6 days. If I would have said something I am sure they would have. Unless there is concern they don't venture down there. I am excited to see if anything is going on!
I was taking a nap and woke up to my water breaking, I couldn't believe it!!!! 37w6d and in the hospital waiting for the epidural...2cm dilated currently!!

I'm in the states, with midwives at a hospital. They don't do cervical checks unless requested.
My midwife checked me at 35 weeks when she did the strep b test and offers to every week. I'm 38 weeks now but I don't get checked because it seems to just cause more labor anxiety. I don't want anyone intervening unnecessarily until I'm in active labor. The Braxton Hicks have me anxious enough, the last thing I need is to know whether or not I'm dialating.
I don't wanna cry wolf and go to the hospital if it's nothing, but I'm gonna try and describe what's happening ( but you all know describing exactly what we're feeling isn't easy )
So tonight I've been having cramps that feel like the day before your period. My lower back feels a lot of pressure and stuff. And now I'm laying in bed drinking water and I keep having Braxton hicks and at the same time I feel like a weird pressure/ swooshing of air almost sensation in my vagina. They're not like super painful, it's just extremely uncomfortable.
This is my first pregnancy so everything I'm feeling is really new to me. So if some STM's and beyond could let me know if it's normal, I'd appreciate it.
I'm 39 weeks today! I had my bloody show and lost my mucous plug at 37 weeks. At my 38 week appointment I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced. I went for a 30 minute walk yesterday and had mild contractions all evening, but when I laid down to sleep they were gone by morning I'm so ready to meet my little girl! I hope she comes soon! Any other tips to help progress labor!????
I posted this on a thread when I was in my first trimester, but every time I think I might be having a contraction it turns out to be gas/bathroom pains. Pretty sure I've had no action, not even BH.

I'm probably answering too late to help you. But unless you have special risks that require you to head to the hospital super early, stay home. Either it's labor and you can relax a while and go when it's stronger or it's not labor and it'll go away.
I had one weird thing that I thought might be early labor (STM but first time my water broke and labor started strong so I don't know what light early labor feels like) and so I started timing it to see if it was happening on regular intervals. It wasn't so I went to sleep. Fwiw if it was early labor I would still have tried to go to sleep. But I'd have taken a bath and maybe had a small glass of wine to try to slow it down in hopes of getting a nap before it got too strong.
39w1d and at last dr appt was still only 1cm and cervix still posterior, midwife says she couldn't strip my membranes because of cervix position, I did want her to because I am miserable with all of the usual complaints at this point in a pregnancy, along with having several "false labor" instinces where my contractions will get strong and painful and 10-15 minutes apart for 2-3 hours, then taper off and leave no changes to my cervix. If baby Oliver is not here by Wednesday, they want to schedule an induction. I have some concerns about that of course, I prefer very minimal medical interventions, and I don't do pain meds. But they are saying my baby is measuring in the 90th percentile and they really don't want me going past 40 weeks with him, and I trust my midwife so if no baby by Wednesday then we will be talking inductions for as soon as possible. Looks like I may be having a New Years Baby
However, after having sex with my SO this morning, there was a small amount of blood on the toilet paper. I know that many women occasionally spot after sex when pregnant, but I never have until this morning. Kinda hoping that means maybe my cervix is ripening and softer and dilating, but not getting my hopes up just yet. Just really ready to birth my little prince!!
TMI alert but does anybody else have diarrhea? After I eat I either throw up or have loose stools. I've heard that it's your body prepping for labor but I'm not too sure. I'm just wondering if the end is coming soon.

I haven't had diarrhea but I definitely have the "I better make it to the toilet NOW" poops. *TMI ALERT* it comes out so much easier these days.
@ambercakes92@mg137 So I turned off all devices and forced myself to sleep because I figured if it was labor I would eventually be in enough pain to know to head to the hospital. I'm just the most not-in-tune-with-my-body type of person so I'm nervous I won't know what's going on, lol. When I woke this morning I was having pretty consistent Braxton hicks, but again, not painful, so I'm just going to go on with my day until I'm really in pain. Thanks ladies!

I started having some diarrhea today and that, along with a super burst of energy (after being a bum on the couch for almost a week), is making me really hopeful that little peanut will come soon. We'll see! I'm just put dinner in the crockpot and am going to go for a walk to see if I can get things moving along.

@maddisonwallace I have been lucky though throughout my whole pregnancy I haven't had constipation! I've always been able to go but these past few weeks I've been going a lot quicker. I'm over feeling sick after every time I eat.
@anightintunisia that's exactly how I've been. I have had zero constipation. But ever since the last two days it's been coming even easier. Like borderline diarrhea but not the consistency of diarrhea. Mine isn't trigger by food though, which makes me think it's more about contractions? I don't know. FTM so I have no idea what is happening. It took me months to figure out that my BH weren't "tightening" feelings but mine feel like period cramps. Lol
@maddisonwallace you're just like me! Mine isn't the consistency of it either but every time I eat that's what happens. And my BH are also like period cramps I feel them in my back as well, like a dull ache. I'm a FTM also and I don't want to run to L&D for every little issue just to be sent home! I'm tired of the "you will know" answer when it comes to contractions!!!
@anightintunisia YES!! That is my life!! I want to scream "YEAH OK WELL WHAT IF I JUST DONT KNOW". It makes me feel like... Inferior. Like I should be just so in tune with my body and I'm not. I got in trouble with my doctor for not telling her I didn't like the BV medication they prescribed because it gave me cramps and took forever to clear out. I was almost in tears and I just told her. Look. Everything is uncomfortable, I'm always uncomfortable. So I don't know when I'm not supposed to be uncomfortable and I don't want to call up here every 30 seconds every time I have an ache or pain.
Lol, I was laughing while I read some of this because I've had to poop a lot as well. My partner poops everytime he eats and I've always been a once a day person. We only have one bathroom and the last week it has gotten really tense as we are both running for the bathroom all day. .lol. sorry if this was TMI but I can't imagine I'm the only one panicking over toilet time.
@maddisonwallace that is funny because we are always uncomfortable but now we are supposed to be aware when we are supposed to be MORE uncomfortable!!!! My husband is telling me that he will take me after he gets home from work but it will be a waste of time just to be told that it's normal and drink some fluids. @bella2210 I never imagined my life revolving around the bathroom like it does now! Everywhere I go that's the first thing on my mind.

Start messing with a breast pump. That's my plan once I hit 39 weeks.
I just had an ultrasound and they are estimating each baby is between 6 and 7 pounds right now. We are so happy they are healthy and big, but I gotta tell ya, I am ready to go NOW with that news. My gut says they are staying put until my scheduled C section 1/15 though. Let's go, babies!

Wow!! That's great! I would have been so excited if my twins got that big. I'm sure you're pretty miserable with all that weight in your belly, but you're going to be so so happy when they're sleeping through the night at a reasonable age. My little girls didn't have any issues from being small but they weren't big enough to go 6 hours between nighttime feedings until they were about 5 months old! They're champion sleepers now but took a long time for them to be big enough.

OMG I could kiss you for this right now. I'm so freaking tired of the BH which space out and stop. I'm on day 5 of this nonsense. I'm going to get my breast pump. Couldn't hurt.

I got put in the hospital today, after an ultrasound because of low amniotic fluid. I have to stay at least till Monday when I turn 37 weeks. They will give me another ultrasound to check on things. Hoping for the best! Very nervous and tired momma, these hospital beds are the worst!!!
Good luck @kalahall13, If you haven't already given birth (I know you posted about 10 days ago)!
I was induced at exactly 36 weeks with my son (now a toddler) due to low amniotic fluid (I think my amniotic fluid level was 3 (cm?)). I know there are different levels of "low", so hopefully yours stays in the moderately low category for a little while.
To put your mind at ease a little, I thought I'd share that my son was totally healthy when he was born. Weighed 6.05 lbs and was 19.5 inches long. Just had to spend an hour or 2 under the lights for jaundice, but other than that, everything was great. Had a great latch too!
Zero progress in the last 2 weeks. I have been at 90% effaced and 1 or less cm dilated. 39 weeks and so ready to pop. I hope she decides to make her arrival soon. I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed at zero progress because I know it could change so quick, but my family keeps sounding disappointed and it's killing me!
I have a question. I had an appointment today and am 1cm dilated and her head is "very low." All of that was great news to me. The part that I am questioning though is that her heart rate was 120 when it has never read lower than 150 before today. Anyone have experience with the fetal heart rate slowing down in the last couple of weeks of pregnancy? I don't know if I should be concerned.

Did your doctor get that heart measurement, or was that something you recorded at home? I could see why a lower heart rate may be concerning, but two things that come to mind is that she could've been sleeping (?) And that your doctor probably would've mentioned if it was an issue.
For the ladies saying they feel like they won't "know" when it's time- I had a false alarm this weekend and the nurse and Doctor told me that I will know and won't be able to speak through the pain of the contraction when it's time. So if you can speak/walk through whatever you're having now, it's not labor yet. I'm a FTM too- but knowing that I need to be unable to speak helped me understand the level of pain and intensity the contractions should have. Hope that's helpful!
I got the reading while I was at the doctor. After she took it, she asked several times if the baby was still moving a lot and reminded me about counting movements. That is sort of why I got concerned.
