We are having a boy. My husband had his heart set on a girl, so I feel kind of sad, and guilty about that too, as he's a healthy baby. Most of our friends have boys who are difficult, and girls just seem easier, so I am not gonna lie, I am nervous. I will love this boy like crazy though and am excited to be a parent for the first time.

I feel you! Even though it's my first, I should be happy - boy or girl! It took us a while to get pregnant so I'm thankful for this healthy baby!!! But my husband already has two teenage sons. Everyone was rooting for a girl in our family, strangers would say, it's a girl! I had symptoms most women with girls have. So you start to believe, yep, might be a girl! I also only wanted to have one child since it makes a total of 3. Now I feel kind of bad! I know we will love him so much, once he is in our arms, it doesn't matter if boy or girl! But I'm not gonna lie, throwing a girl into the mix would have been fun, too!
Sometimes, to be honest, I really can't believe all of this! I waited for a long time, invisioned myself as a mum. Now I sometimes can't believe it! This miracle is really about to happen! Nervous and excited all at the same time!
Who knows, you might have a girl later on and then there will be the protective big brother, maybe it's all just meant to be!
Got a surprise US I wasn't expecting to get at my 17 week appointment yesterday and doctor said it's a boy no doubt!! We are very excited! We would have been happy either way, but hubs and I both only have sisters so we were hoping to add a boy to our families. Also I have a 5 month old nephew and my SIL was really hoping we'd have a boy so they will be 10 months apart and hopefully best friends!!
Today we found out we are having a GIRL! I have 2 boys from previous relationship so Hubby REALLY wanted a boy of his own and his whole family kept brushing me off when i said its a girl and i was 100% sure. This is the first girl on his side in 27 YEARS!! Im excited, we are telling family on Christmas Day, the look of pride on hubbys face as he watched his baby roll and kick around was priceless.
Just had our anatomy scan yesterday and found out we're having a boy!
I'm surprised because we both thought it was a girl for some reason. I think DH is nervous about being a parent to a baby boy since he is so used to having a little girl now. He doesn't talk a lot about his feelings, but I'm getting the sense he's worried about loving another baby as much as he loves DD.
Had a scan this week at 16+6 and doc is pretty sure we're expecting a girl! Big brother is super excited...he's been saying "sister" every time we ask him what he wants.
Just found out today that in May I will have a wonderful son named Titus Jackson!
SO really wanted it to be a girl because there are only nephews on my side and only him, his brothers and a bunch of male cousins on his family's side. If it was a girl it would have been the first for the family in 58 years! I kept having dreams about little boys so I had a hunch! Happy to know my hunch was right and my sweet boy is healthy.
SIL was right, we're having a boy. First thing she did when we told the fam was say: "called it!" ugh. Ugh ugh ugh. DH was so reluctant to announce because he knew she'd gloat.
But, on the bright side! Baby is healthy, and now we can get moving on names:)
We found out on Saturday that our little bundle of joy is a bouncing baby BOY!!!! We both are so excited and have been hoping for a boy!!!! I am loving getting to call him finally by his name: Parker John
We found out from the results of our Harmony tests that baby is low risk and a baby girl! My DH had predicted that all along (based on when we conceived in relation to my date of ovulation I think) and he was so happy to be right. MIL even dreamt it was a girl so she was happy to hear the results. Now MIL asks about baby C every time she calls from Honduras... it is cute.
We found out this morning that we are having a healthy baby BOY! DS will have a little brother which is exciting! Bonus I already have boy things and I already know what to expect with a boy!! So excited !!!!
@dshannah This drives me crazy - I haven't found out yet, but anytime someone tells me they have a feeling about it or their gut is telling them it's a boy/girl, I just shrug and say, "well there are only two options, so anyone who guesses either way has a pretty good chance of randomly guessing the right one." Because it's CREEPY and WEIRD when people tell you that they know more about the fetus growing inside of you than you do, and when they guess correctly, the fact that it was a random guess with high probabilities of being right should be shoved down their throats, with no room for them to think that they in any way had any insights into what's going on with your baby. Like I said... this drives me crazy.
Soooo we got an elective ultrasound at a boutique today. I didn't think I would EVER do that but I caved. (I so wanted to surprise my family on Christmas- they have no clue we went.)

I only had a gender scan today bc my doctor is indisposed right now. So we are having girl #2. So much for the Chinese gender thingy, carrying low, craving salty instead of sweet, and most other old wives tales about being pg with boys

Little brother was born October 1, 2012.
Was completely convinced was going to be a girl so will take some adjusting but of course pleased healthy and all seems well.
