Hello ladies, I am new posting to this group but it looks like my cycle coincides with this group. Hubby and I are already in a cycle and are possibly scheduled to do ER Monday 12/28/15. I am also new to the IVF process and although my RE is super helpful and knowledgable, I am curious to know about personal experiences after the ER. I realize this can be super personal and sensitive so I completely understand if the ladies in the group are reluctant to share. We are currently doing Menopure nightly and the Ganirelix in the morning. What should we expect after Monday... any thoughts/comments?
Welcome, @dst399. I think almost everyone in this group has had their ER by now. Are you having a fresh transfer 3 or 5 days after retrieval? I know the experiences from us will vary based on that and if we experienced OHSS. How many follicles do you have getting close to a mature size? For me, I had 39 retrieved and 25 were mature. I did experience OHSS and I was in a bit of pain afterwards..like 24 hours afterwards. My abdomen and ovaries were very tender and swollen and I was a zombie for a good 3-4 days afterwards. Some people experience fewer symptoms and are able to return to work the next day. Fx for your retrieval!
Welcome @dst399! I experienced strong period like cramps immediately after the procedure and for the next few days. Every time I had to use the restroom, the cramps felt sharp and more intense. I also felt lightheaded if was standing for more that a few minutes. My bloating peaked about two days after the procedure and gradually disappeared. I drank water all the time as instructed by my nurse. I also ate a good portion of protein to help my system recover.
Hi @dst399 and welcome! Like the others have said, I experienced some period-like cramps for about 3 days afterwards. I was very tired the day of and the day after. I went to work the next day, but ai probably shouldn't have. I also was pretty bloated but it seemed to go down after about a week or so. Drink plenty of fluids and that will help. I had 13 eggs retrieved, 10 mature and 7 fertilized with ICSI. Because my numbers were below 10, we did a day 3 transfer. Good luck and keep us posted!
Welcome @dst399 everyone is certainly different. Worst part for me for not benign able to eat (procedure was scheduled for 1pm, but didn't really happen until 1:45!) and the dizziness from being put out for the ER. I napped when I got home and was good to go back to work the following day. Just a little bloated like cramps...nothing to write home about. Good luck!
Not going to lie this TWW is driving me nuts. It's only been two days (ET on Tuesday) and I've already gone through every emotion in the book.
I think I should start journaling because I'm driving my husband absolutely nuts as he is preparing to have his side of the family over for Christmas tomorrow.
Anyone have any book recommendations? Something to take my mind off of waiting for a bit? Thanks in advance.
@Smallinetta girl you are not alone! I have 4 days left till my beta and I am a huge huge ball of emotion. Even after positive results. Anything my husband says at this point will make me smile or cry. I cried a lot today for no particular reason. And we soon have like 25 people coming over for Christmas Eve dinner! Haha! Netflix has worked for me because I can't keep myself in a book!
@joyful38 when is your Beta? Mine is next Tuesday.
@Smallinetta - I'm with you there. I can only watch so much Netflix and I'm annoying my husband as well. I don't have any good suggestions for you. I actually called up everyone and I'd talk to anyone who answered their phone. I try to read on my kindle but then I end up reading everything online about ET, implantation, symptoms etc etc. four more days for me but it might as well be 4 more months.

@joyful38 and @plumeria05 hahah yes I've watched so much Netflix I think my eyes will burn out! I'm going to try to read "The Interestings" by Meg Wolitzer tomorrow after Christmas.
Just face timed with my sister and Nana who live in Europe and that was a really nice distraction.
@joyful38 yes mine is the 29th - right after yours. You nervous? I just wanna get it over with. The past two days I've been eating like a pig and that's usually.....you know. FX for you too.

I made my husband leave the track where he was running and I was "power walking" (I don't even really know what the heck I was doing basically trying to not go crazy) because I legit thought I had gotten my period. Sorry TMI. Welp.... I didn't. He's going to kill me -- haha!
@Smallinetta haha. We have been doing some crazy things. Two days ago I thoughts my boobs look a little bigger so I've been checking them often and this morning they look normal (ugh)
@joyful38 I'm with you about the period thing. I've been eating so much that I know I'm getting it soon cus don't you feel nauseous around food in the early pregnancy? I'm so tempted to buy a pregnancy test today

@plumeria05 I was actually cleaning out my dresser today and found three tests from back in my IUI days when I would test every single day. Honestly, at this point I can't take a negative so I'm not going to test (just yet) I will wait and see until I can emotionally handle it. Might not be until my beta, but that would be the first time in history until I waited until the big day.
@Smallinetta do your boobs hurt? Cus mine don't. I agree with you about testing early; that's why I haven't gone to the store. I mean I want this torture to be over but I also don't think I'm ready yet.

@plumeria05 no....they were kinda tender yesterday and the day before, but now nada. I'm over analyzing everything though. I need to be the crazy juice down.
I've started baking (I think for the first time in my life) and my MIL is coming into the city to hang out with me tomorrow so hopefully I'll be distracted.
I think the hardest part for me (us) is that we are paying completely out of pocket. After 5 IUIs we kind of had to move on to IVF except our insurance doesn't cover it. In fact they wouldn't even cover our last iui (but didn't tell us that until after the procedure) but that's a whole other story.
So we just paid $9,800 plus $400 for our meds -- go figure most of the meds were covered! If this doesn't work we will have to save a lot more to do our next round. My husband keeps telling me not to worry about the money and that we will figure out something, but I'm way too practical for that line of thinking. Worrying won't fix anything though.
@ Smallineta I completely feel your pain on the financial part. We've done 2 IVFs with my own eggs and both failed. This time the dr suggested an egg donor which is the route we're going now which is why we were able to do a transfer. So we have spent over $60,000 counting the last 2 IVFs and that was all out of pocket. If this doesn't work then we will be taking a very long break and recuperate financially, emotionally and mentally.

@plumeria05 - My first symptom was that I was RAVENOUSLY hungry! I'm 4 weeks, 5 days today and today was the first time I experienced nausea. I was bummed because it didn't come until 6 weeks with my first pregnancy! So, eating a lot doesn't necessarily mean you're out! Good luck ladies!! I can't wait to hear beta results. Anyone else testing soon? @joyful38 - Dec 28 @plumeria05 - Dec 29 @Smallinetta - Dec 31

Hello ladies. I'm right there with you on going crazy. My boobs are killing me, but that happened the last time too and the nurse said its due to the meds ......haven't bleed at all, which worries me because most women say they bleed when implantation happens. I want to test so bad but my DH told me just to wait. Our beta is Monday the 28th.
@plumeria05 if this round doesn't work we have t go the donor route. How is that experience going for you? My DH is having a harder time with it then I am because it will only be part of him. My thinking is I will be carrying that baby, and they are growing in me so just because it's not my egg, it's definitely my baby. How was the process of finding a donor?
FX for all you ladies who have beta's coming up soon.....may you all get BFP's!!!!
@ emsmama15 - BIG congrats to you!! so glad to know that someone else was eating alot more in the first few weeks. i try not to compare my symptoms with others but it's hard. the acne and big apetite are the only symptoms i have lol
@ kristylang - i hope this cycle works for you. let's cross the DE bridge when we get to it. we're almost there with our BETAs

I'm having my second beta test tomorrow. I was suppose to have it on Friday but the clinic was closed for the holiday. I am getting nervouse. I truly thought my nerves would calm after my first beta test. Any other ladies heading into their second beta tests this week?
Hi ladies! I'm starting to get excited again.. I go in tomorrow to the RE to get my meds and timeline for my FET (remember this means frozen). I'm hoping the transfer is at the beginning of the week of Jan 11th.
I'm so excited for you ladies that are having BFPs betas and those that are even headed into their second betas. Please keep a seat warm for me.. hopefully I'll be there sooner than later.
Hey guys.. I was going to join the January/February group because I think i'm out this cycle but i'm not sure. I had a FET 11 days ago. Broke down and tested this morning (my Beta is Wednesday) and it was negative. Sore boobs and a little bleeding (not much) yesterday and today. I think I"m out ... Hopeful but realistic that it's another failed IVF. Anyone have bleeding this far out in the game. I figured at this point it would be positive on a HPT. So bummed.
@Smallinetta - I did transfer two. My RE doesn't do ultrasound until SEVEN weeks. It seems so far away. I have one more beta tomorrow (offered to me as an olive branch when they told me I'd be waiting so long for ultrasound) and then two more weeks till I find out what's going on in there!!
@SparrowTales - I'm still freaking out and I've had two betas already!! I think once some more symptoms start, I'll feel better. Had a little nausea this weekend and my boobs hurt badly, so I'm thinking we're still good!!
Can't wait for all the betas this week. Good luck everyone!! Stay hopeful until beta is my advice!! Fingers crossed!!!!

@Joyzie77and @Nursene2003 `- aw BIG Hugs to you. My BETA was supposed to be Tuesday but I've been going crazy with no symptoms and texted my nurse, she said I can come in tomorrow instead and get tested. I'm REALLY scared and nervous (because I already know the result) but I'm ready to get this over with. I stopped symptom spotting myself 2 days ago and I think I already prepared myself mentally for tomorrow. I'm 10dp5dt. FX for you two.

I am new here and was directed to this thread I just had my ER on saturday, where we got 22 eggs and ended up with 11 fertilized. My 5 day transfer is scheduled for Thursday. So excited to start 2016 PUPO . I am 31, and my husband is also 31. I have a 8 y.o DD from a previous relationship. We have been married a little over a year, this will be our first child together. We started TTC in July 2014 and face an interesting year with 3 surgeries between us. We had an early loss/chemical a year ago last month. Praying this little bean sticks, and we have a couple to freeze. I am surprised at how much the ER kicked my butt...feels like Im carrying rocks around in my gut and I would give anything to poop! It's been days! LOL
@kristylang I know I already said it in the other thread, but I am so so sorry! I am sending big hugs your way!
I have not posted much in the past few days since I am spending time with family but I have been catching up on all of you before I go to bed I am crossing my fingers for all the betas coming up and really hope we get more BFP's!!!
The holidays were not as bad as I tought it would be, even if I had to avoid a lot of awkward questions, I made it out in one piece! Actualy the worst person was my father's girlfriend, she asked me five times if I was pregnant yet and that you never know i may be and not yet know!! I wad like "Can you stop asking now please thank you" -_-
@skcasey526 Welcome here! Glad to hear your ER went well, 11 eggs is a lot wow! Hopefully many make it to day 5, if you are having a day 5 transfer, or is it day 3? I wish you all the luck with your transfer, how many do you plan on transfering?
