Sadly I'm back to square one

Unfortunately my BFP turned into a miscarriage. I will start again after the holidays. Any one decide to switch to IVF after IUI worked on third try. We have an appointment to discuss with our Doctor.
TTC since 2013 (loss mentioned)
IUI #1 and 2 BFN
IUI #3 BFP - miscarried at 7 weeks
started IVF cycle Feb 2016
2/19 ER-- 20 Retrieved 12 fertilized 6 tested 
2/26 -- 3 normal, 2 abnormal, 2 unconfirmed 
4/3 transfer
4/29 - Miscarried
8/25 - transfer
9/3 - BFP  -- fingers crossed...

    I am so sorry for your loss . Sending love and hugs your way .

    I got pregnant on my 3rd medicated cycle (IUI ) and had a miscarriage too . I know how much it hurts . I did one more IUI and am doing IVF next . Not bc I don't think an IUI wouldn't work again but bc I am tired of going through multiple cycles and just want my eggs out and ready to go .

    Good luck whatever you decide to do moving forward . I'm here if you need to vent . Again , I am so so sorry for your loss .

    January 2016: Egg retrieval: 10 frozen embryos!
    March 2016: FET Cycle- 2 embryos transferred!: BFP !

    @mummysmomma I'm so sorry for your loss. I am only on my 2nd iui cycle but I think switching to IVF is a difficult decision. I plan on continuing for at least 6 cycles before talking ivf (but i also use donor sperm so i might change my mind after the 3rd being that its so expensive).

    I am so sorry, hugs.  I hope you have a good conversation with your doctor and are able to make a decision that makes you feel that you are moving forward however is right for you.

    Married May 2009, TTC since November 2012 (Together since 2006 ish - had my eyes on him since 2001)
    Me: 32 (33 in May), Him: 37 (January)

    DX: Me: High Prolactin, Possible Autoimmune Disease Issues, though RE not concerned (?)  New RE has a plan!!
           Him: Minor Varicocele, low morphology, slightly low count

    History:

    Beta 5/9/2016 BFP!!
    Embryo transfer scheduled for April 28, 2016 and beta test May 9, 2016 (day after Mother's Day!)
    Transfer Meds include: Lupron Depot (4/1), Minivelle Patch (every 3rd day), Estradiol (3x daily), Amoxicillin, Progesterone in Oil, Methylprednisonlone. Lovenox and baby asprin added after transfer. 

    3/22/16 - Sono Saline ultrasound cyst to be aspirated on 4/1/16 if not cleared up by 3/29 US - It cleared on its own
    Retrieval 3/4/16 - 26 eggs retrieved, 23 mature, 20 fertilized, 14 embryos currently frozen
    Starting IVF Stims on +/- Feb 22, 2016
    HSG scheduled for 1-26-16 - All clear "beautiful uterus" (though inverted)

    Switched clinics and now prepping for IVF in February / March

    Fourth IUI -  CD3-7 100 Clomid w/ Ovidrel Trigger - December, 2015 - BFN
    Third IUI -  CD3-7 100 Clomid w/ Ovidrel Trigger - November, 2015 - BFN
    Second IUI - CD3-7 100 Clomid w/ Ovidrel Trigger - September, 2015 - BFN
    Started Prolactin Medication October 15 - Levels quickly regulated to with in normal range
    First IUI - CD3-7 100 Clomid w/ Ovidrel Trigger - August, 2015 - BFN
    After no BFPs (ever) First RE/Urologist visit in Feb 2015
    HSG w/ OB, 2014 = all clear
    Trying to conceive since November 2012

    I am so sorry for your loss. I know how painful this is.
    I never tried IUI so I cannot give my opinion on that, we did IVF right away because even wirh IUI our chances were like 5-8%. I hope all goes well for you.

    I'm so sorry for you loss and will keep you on my thoughts.

    I've done three IUIs with the second and third ending in early losses and am still waiting for the third to resolve (hcg is down to 20 after a few weeks) After a really good discussion with my RE we are moving onto IVF. Im sure if we continued with IUI we could be successful but we figured those costs would add up to one IVF cycle eventually and the odds are so much better with IVF.

    It's not an easy jump to make. Good luck with your decision

    Thank you all. I have a lot of trust in my doctors as well. We have been talking a lot about IVF for the same reasons some of you have said. I know IUI can work. But if I can have my eggs ready and waiting might be a better chance. Thank you all :)

    @mummysmomma - I'm very sorry to hear about your news. I've never experienced a miscarriage personally, but through these boards and a handful of friends, have caught a glimpse of what you must be going through and my heart aches for you. Such a difficult journey we are faced with, but I'm glad you're thinking next steps and moving forward. Was this your first positive or have you had additional miscarriages? The fact that IUI got you pregnant is a good sign, but there is something possibly going on with sustaining it, or genetically. If you undergo IVF you can do pre-genetic screening to select the most viable embryos for transfer. However, if its something to do with your body rejecting it, could be immune related. Let us know what your follow up appointment brings. I'd be interested to hear about it! Again, big hugs to you. I'm so sorry.

    • 2012 - 3 Rounds clomid - all BFN
    • 2013 - 1 Fresh IVF with 2 day 3 embryos - BFN
    • 2014 - 1 Frozen IVF with 2 day 5 embryos - BFN
    • Took a long break, continuing trying naturally
    • Feb 2016 - Biopsy = Endo, DH sperm improved from 1% to 6% morphology
    • March 2016 - Fresh IVF cycle with acupuncture & intralipids: 20 eggs retrieved (17 mature), 7 ICSI'd fertilized, 9 naturally fertilized. 16 total embryos!
    • April 8th - 2 embryos (1ICSI and 1 Natural) transferred. (7 blastocysts frozen), April 18th - Beta = BFN
    • Sept 23rd - Lupron Depot Injection for Endo control
    • Nov 15th 2016 - Started daily Lupron Injections for upcoming FET
    • Nov 22 - Baseline US/BW - Intralipid Infusion - Start Meds for FET with immune protocol
    • Dec 16th FET transfer of 3 embryos (1 - AA, 2 - BB)

    • Dec 22nd - first ever bfp (very faint lines FRER & cheapie)

    @oxinfree thank you.  This was my first positive and miscarriage.  I think that is what hurt the most.  I had a d & c done and they are testing the cells.   What you said about testing is exactly what my doctor told me before the d&c.   So I think once we have some results and talk to him we will have a better idea of a next step.   But for me....I have to move forward.  I am not one to dwell.

    @mummysmomma - gosh. How horrible to be lifted so high finally, and then be knocked back down. I'm glad for you that the D&C is over with and you are able to be forward focusing. You're so strong, good for you! Very inspirational. This is one of my greatest fears (never had a positive) and you are living it, and dealing with it so gracefully.     @mummysmomma - Big Hugs to you.  I'm really sorry about your loss and I wish you all the best in your next cycle.
    TTC for Baby #1 for 3 years. After 2 failed IUI's & IVFs, God blessed us with our miracle :).  FET 12/17/15 (transferred 2 embryos at 5days). First Beta 12/29/15 = 354. Second Beta 12/31/15 = 694. Third Beta 1/7/16 = 6,695.  Finally heard his heartbeat (126)  on 1/14/16 @ our 1st US.  2nd US on 1/21/16, HR was 159.  The most beautiful sound ever :)

    I'm so sorry. Mt first IUI worked, then I unfortunately miscarried. It was the worst day of my life getting the call telling me my hcg dropped. I'm currently in my TWW for my 6th IUI, and it's getting old fast! We are currently saving for IVF. I hope it doesn't have to come to that, but if it does that's where we'll go. hopefully it'll get us what we want!

    Well the d&c went well.... A week later my hcg level is 92.. I'm getting there.

    @mummysmomma I'm so sorry :( I think that @oxinfree said it so perfectly, i would just like to echo the same sentiments. I haven't personally been through that, but can only imagine how tough it is. Your strength is inspiring!
