TTT

1. I see a lot of love tits from peeps who've never posted before. I wish the lurkers would chime in.
2. Speaking of love tits- this BMB seems stingy! I'm only comparing to my last BMB, but dang.
3. I've attended 2 funerals over the weekend. I don't do death well. Add in the hormones and I'm a mess.
4. The gifts that I referenced last week have yet to arrive. Looks like I'll be wrapping a picture of the gift in a box after all!
5. I made chocolate chip cookies for some friends the other night and shamefully ate about 8 of them...
6. Ok let's be real: I also ate the dough. Salmonella won't stop a pregnant lady. Not this one.
7. I'm starting some more part time work on 12/24. It's seasonal, so the job runs through the end of January, but just thinking about adding to my plate feels exhausting.
8. Not trying to be insensitive, but all of the people who respond to hot button topics as "you're bashing", or "there's no support here" should have seen what TB was like a few years ago! It was crazy. It's honestly so much more tame now.
9. My DD likes to watch the Charlie Brown Christmas special on repeat. Finally a movie that doesn't drive mommy nuts :)
10. I'm ready for the all of the food on Christmas Eve/day!

Happy Tuesday, mamas!

  • @kbrands7 yes on the c section scar thing! Happened last time and I'm sure it will this time too. Baby isn't high enough to kick me there just yet.

I'm sorry you get this too-- but I'm glad I'm not the only one! My OB said to "expect discomfort" but wasn't able to describe it as well as he normally would describe other things...

It's hard to describe! Definitely discomfort, but its weird to put into words lol and it's different for everyone I think. For example, my scar only itches on the inside...if that even makes sense to you. Other people I talk to are like wtf? But DH one aunt who had c sections says hers is the same way! It's just weird lol

@Aquinna82 I just bought new bras. My boobs stayed big after. Even when my milk wasn't in anymore. I'm currently wearing a j cup that's getting too small. I do have 1 maternity bra to hold me over until birth, but last time my boobs got so big even that didn't help, it was too small (and I bought it the recommended couple sizes bigger too). I'd invest in at least 1 maternity bra though. I like mine actually lol

Edit to add- try them on or get fitted though for sure. I have to order mine online and it's a pain (welcome to small town where no one where's a cup size over DDD lol). Make sure there's "room to grow" is my advice :)

Yep, definitely weird! Mine has felt a little itchy and also sort of like a pulled muscle all at once.

Pulled muscle! Omg that is the best way to describe it! You're a genius! ;)
  • @kami09 I haven't been keeping up on the Miss Universe thing, but people think they should BOTH win? How does that work? There's only 1 Miss Universe and the actual winner should get the title...and I'd like to think 2nd place would be a good sport about that, right?

Thanks!  I think I will go this weekend and get fitted.  I'm also not going to buy more than 2 at a time (black & nude)...I bought 4 when I went up a cup size because for some reason I thought that was going to be it...FTM moment.
  • Haha @Aquinna82 I did it too girl lol happens to the best of us ;) last pregnancy I stuck to the 1 maternity bra and 2 regular bras...I think. I put them away and can't find them lol preggo brain...mine didn't leave lol

Yes. You'd think. I just keep seeing people on Facebook or on radio saying they should be co-winners. No. It was a rough mistake, but one person wins. Lol
  • @ladysamlady we didn't/don't use a changing table but instead use a pad on top of a dresser. Is that an option for you guys? We have a hanging organizer from Urban Outfitters on the wall to organize diapers and such, but you could alternately use the top drawer for those things. Pic attached for reference...I have no idea why it's so huge :/

  • 10. I haven't had a mani or pedi since I got KU either, which isn't like me but the smell of the nail salon makes me queasy these days. I miss having pretty nails.

I gave up manis and pedis to save some money. I was spending about $70-80 a month- CRAZY!! I did treat myself to one a few weeks ago and it was heavenly... Will def be getting a pedi before my due date though. Dont want the nurses whispering about my ugly feet!

  • @Jenlyl7 What do you mean by stingy?

@yogahh I am with you on the Star Wars thing. Who cares?! DH went to see it with a friend of his last night because I will have no part of it. lol

@kp90 Today is my Friday as well! :) I need to start looking into daycares. Ugh. That's going to be so stressful. It's going to be hard to trust someone else with my child. DH and I did our registries yesterday. I didn't realize how overwhelming it would be. I was in a terrible mood the rest of the day.. mostly from that and having a headache from not eating.

  • @kbrands7 thank you!! I love your set up!! I have mostly been looking at dressers actually, but still can't really decide exactly what I want. I have a basic idea of the aesthetic I like but can't decide on a price point. I think I'd prefer to spend a little more to get something high quality that will last (and that I don't have to assemble) but there is so much to buy it is overwhelming!

  • @LadySamLady we didn't use a changing table either...they made me uneasy. I put a changing pad on the floor with a basket full of diapers and wipes next to it. I'd take a picture, but it's since become a "poop blanket" with a pack of diapers next to it lol it just worked better for us lol

I do this with my 1 yo now because I have to strap him down lol...

But we had a changing table upstairs in his room and then threw a changing pad on a buffet that we have in the dining room when he was little. Didn't want to go upstairs every single time.

    Floor is definitely my favorite!

  • 8. I have done zero holiday baking this year. I am usually all over baking, it's a hobby of mine. Since I got pregnant I am not big on sweets so I haven't been baking. Oh well.

I'm going to bake tonight with my mom, but I hear you. I was the BIGGEST sweet person, and I'm just not feeling it anymore. Hopefully it lasts after delivery ;-)
  • @AdorkablePixie DH cousins didn't reveal their daughters name until birth and it was actually exciting to wait and hear what they picked! We would wait on it as well, but I tend to refer to the baby by its name once it has one so everyone would know anyway lol
  • @AliciaD39 congrats on the boy!!! We are having a boy too and my husband is so excited! Car suggestion: Toyota Highlander! Third row is removable (thus plenty of room for large dogs in the very back) plus as little one gets bigger and starts having play dates you will need the extra seats! We also love the Four Runner (not as good on gas) but either way, Toyota lasts forever!
  • @LadySamLady lol But the sale was great wasn't it?! I regret nothing.
