Stupid $hit my SO said

So my husband came home for lunch and I'm nursing our son still in my pajamas (because newborn) and he asks me if I've made lunch. Fool, I've had a cup of coffee and a piece of bread.

An hour later after he made him food and I made him take the baby so I could do dishes he comes in the kitchen and tries to hand me our son because he has to take a shit. He then takes a 20 minute dump. You know how much time I get to do that?!? 3 minutes!!

Okay, what stupid crap have you herd from your SO??

  • I couldn't get my son to sleep one night, we usually used a bottle to put him to sleep, He was crying and would just not stay asleep. So I was getting upset. I walked into my husbands "office" he was playing a game on his computer. I told him he needed to take the baby because I was getting to frustrated. He straight up told me NO! i calmed myself down, got baby to sleep. called my friend to talk me out of going off on him! He has been very helpful ever since!

  • Not baby related but when we just started dating SO came over before work and I made breakfast. I gave him a bunch of leftovers because I didn't want them to go bad. He said I was like his Grandma.
  • I'm loving all of these. They seem so well meaning, but just so wrong. Lol
  • DH told me he was more concerned about my lack of milk production and willingness to BF than the abnormal bloodwork results our DD had... WTF?!? Seriously?! That made me feel horrible about myself. He's been much better since then though, but man I was pissed!
  • When I first got my bump, I showed DH where the top of the uterus measured. DH: If the uterus only goes up to there, then why is the whole thing round? Me: The internal organs have to go SOMEWHERE...smh...
  • Mine keeps asking if I had my bloody show. I really wish now that he didn't learn about it in the prenatal class :grimace:

  • N15 lurker. I took DS with me to work today so I could socialize (and drop off my resignation letter, womp womp). One of my young male coworkers, who is very inexperienced in regards to babies, exclaimed, "oh, he doesn't have any teeth!". After all the ladies stared and laughed at him, I told him to consider BFing for a year with a child who had a full set of chompers, haha.

I'm sitting there pumping and he's laughing at me telling me I'm double barreling it and pretends to load and fire a shot gun.

    Yup. Really needed that.

Mine makes cow milking noises and gestures. Every time. So that's every 2-3 hours. Stopped being funny about a week ago.
This. I told mine he was allowed to do it once. He proceeded to moo at me for 20 minutes.

Mine asks if I loose my mucus plug all the time.

He also asked if it's time every time i say oww, or make a face. No, I just stubbed my toe!!!
Oh man mine asks this to me too all the time if I make like any noise
  • About a week ago I was getting out of the shower and DH wandered in. He hadn't seen me in my birthday suit in awhile and said "omg you have gorilla boobs!" yeah really flattering, I know my boobs are bigger. Thanks for the comparison.

We read Happiest Baby on the Block, and DH is really into the "shhhh" tactic. The other night, he said he would get up when the baby cried and he'd change her and bring her to me. We hear DD through the monitor, and I wait a second before tapping DH on the shoulder. DD is screaming, so idk how he's not awake. He still doesn't wake up and instead puts his face up to the monitor, says "shhhhhhhhh!" and rolls back over. I get up.

I'll also add that when he's awake, DH is wonderful and does everything except breastfeed.

    This made me laugh!!
  • Light hearted humor: "you don't look as fat as the scale says" then we both started cracking up bc I had just been bitching about gaining and gaining when I read that some women lose weight at the end.
  • He said to his, friends in my presence yea she's been really grouchy but I guess it's her hormones, then he says yea I'm going iut top grab food since she stopped cooking. I'm only a first time mother home alone all day with a newbornv and when he comes c home he'll help for twenty minutes then go kick himself in the den....wtf?
  • OK, so this isn't my SO said, but I needed to ask. My sister just told me I shouldn't be dilated too long because it's not good for baby and risks an infection.

In all my research I have NEVER heard this. This is coming from someone who has never been pregnant. Maybe I'm crazy and it's something every one knows, but I thought the amniotic sack protected the baby from infection.
  • My husband poked me in the leg were I've developed a lump of cellulite- and screwed his face up and said "what's that?" Then touched my stretch marks and said- "what are these lines?" Thanks babe- for making me feel soooooo sexy. The look on his face said it all...
  • #1: Bending over trying to help with something...39 weeks along...SO says "do you really have to breathe so hard!" Um yes fool. I'm contracting, I'm bent over helping you, and crowding my already crowded organs even more. But thanks for the concern.

#2: standing in our hallway waiting for DS to finish using the toilet. "You look awful. Go sit down." Uh...thanks?

    Two gems in one day!

Ok - I would punch him in the face and blame it on pregnancy hormones...

Your sister doesn't know what she's talking about. You are correct about the sac. If your water breaks, you need to deliver within 24 hours.

I was like what the hell. Where did she hear this.
  • DH and I were putting LO in the carseat to take him home from the hospital. He actually said to me that the carseat straps were too tight (they absolutely were not, though they were still a tiny bit loose they couldn't go any tighter). I made him listen while I asked the nurses at checkout if he was secure enough
  • @ssn109 my DH and I still contend over this with DS...3 years later! He straps him in. I get in the drivers seat. Then I'll turn around and clearly see some slack. Every. Single. Time.
