@hockeyfan42 it never fails to amaze me when people make somebody else's good news about them. "Why didn't you make MEEE feel special about your pregnancy?" Pfft.
I know! And here I thought today's youth were the ones with ridiculous senses of entitlement.... Sheesh.
There is 1 friend that I called the day I mailed our cards out because I knew that she would have that reaction. Just glad I thought of that ahead of time cause a call like that would have pissed me off!

June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
Thanks @SMLmom! I'm just planning on riding the honey/lemon tea, steam myself in the shower, lotionized tissue train until this nonsense passes. Ugh. I had a neti pot once upon a time, but I have this horrible aversion to mucus (I know...better get over that by summer).....so the one and only time I used it did NOT go well.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: i'm starting to have problems sleeping, my hips are killing me each night. I already use a pillow in between my legs.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? we finally told our parents we are pregnant. They we all in shock cause they thought we were don't with 3.
Questions? none
GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? my DH calls me Pooky, when we first started dating we used to watch the Garfield and friends cartoon (we have been together since high school) and I used to think it was cute that Garfield had a teddy bear called Pooky. So he just started to call me that.
Before I check-in, I want to start by apologizing to anyone who I may have unintentionally hurt your feelings or tried to brush your questions under the rug. It's not like me, at all. I made a comment in another board, and I got called out for it, which was the right thing to do, so to those who did so (and you know who you are!!) I want to thank you. I promise to triple check my responses from here on out to make sure I'm not being a bitch or an asshole.
On with the check in!!
How far along: 15+4
Rant: I'm mad at myself. And my mouth/brain/fingers for some of my comments lately. it makes me sad to know that I said some things that were and are hurtful. Rave: I am in love with Sprouts' chocolate chip muffins. No idea why. No symptoms or questions. My nicknames: Spam (how to differentiate between the 3 Samantha's at my old job), PastryPuff (certified pastry chef) and Little One (youngest in the family)
Just got back from my NT screening and ultrasound! We are measuring right on track for a June 24th due date (which my dr. wasn't sure about from the 1st scan she said we may be a week later so I was pleased to hear that no we really are approaching week 13 tomorrow!!) We got to see the baby for a while, he/she was dancing all over the place and wouldn't keep still for a measurement and kept putting hands in front of their face! Was so relieving to see and also so exciting/makes it more real! Here's our LO! 12 weeks 6 days! Also the dr. was very happy with our measurements and said "all looks great" so happy !
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Insomnia is really taking over my life the past two weeks. It's horrible. I've also had aversions to all meats for the past few weeks too. I've started drinking Ensure to help with my protein intake.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing yet.
GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? I did when I was a kid, it was Meglit.
@Meglit89 glad I'm not the only one who has been drinking ensure/boost. I bought some back when MS was really bad and I wasn't keep more than 400 calories a day down and it was a godsend.
@Spgoldberg247 I hate chocolate, but the Chocolate one is my favorite. Yummm... It helps me feel so much better!!
I didn't have MS, but in my first trimester I never wanted to eat. I had to force food down, so I actually lost weight. I drank lots of Ensures because it was all I could get down, too.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: So happy to be getting out of the 1st tri. My symptoms are going away day by day and the honeymoon phase is starting. My SO and I are high-school teachers so, after working 65 hours so far this week and him over 70 (he's a coach), we are off for the next 2 weeks. We are even without my son the week after Christmas so we are going to party...actually we will probably just sleep.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Furniture shopping
Questions? None
GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? My family and friends call me Shamy or Shameless. My students call me Mama E.
Man, it's been ages since I've posted on this board! Life has just been crazy, but I do still lurk around every few days
How far along are you: 15.5 weeks
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: DH is gone for the night and I'm currently sitting on the couch, trying to convince myself not to go to bed at 6pm. But, I could get a full 12 hours of sleep if I did!!! I think I'll ditch my motivated plans of cleaning, laundry, baking and gift wrapping, and just watch a movie, eat junk food and go to bed early.
Most of my symptoms are minimal, except for being tired and just sore in general. I can feel everything stretching.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Not too much yet. Planning on an unmedicated birth, but starting to feel overwhelmed at being ready for that. So I've been doing lots of reading, and making lists of things that I want to research further. Once we know baby's gender (January) I'll get more into nursery decorating and clothes buying.
Questions? None today. Dr answered them all at my appt.
GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? I have a simple name that is hard to nickname, although my brothers have some childhood nicknames they still like to bring up now and then.
Have to add a rave. After my entirely crappy day and feeling icky. DH surprised me by coming home in a Santa hat and asking if I'd been good. I said no, but he presented me with a care bag and I almost cried. All my favorite goodies were in there. Feeling so lucky and blessed.

I think it is really really amazing that your husband came home in a Santa outfit with gifts!! I mean, come on, marriages don't get any cuter.

This is absolutely adorable. Such a lovely gesture!
I'm 12+5 Rants" Today my MS was terrible and actually threw up a lot when brushing my teeth. Ugh, I thought it was supposed to get better, not worse. Then I got super dizzy (maybe vertigo) when driving. I almost had to pull over, but it only lasted a moment. It was so scary though.
We had a really good NT scan on Tuesday, just waiting for the blood work, but my doctor said everything looks good and she doesn't anticipate any issues.
No questions, I don't have a nickname, and we 're not doing much right now to get ready for the baby- after the holidays.
