I can't stand people wearing shoes in my home. I live in the city and the streets are dirty, so the choices are to either take your shoes off or to wear booties.
I'm not changing my shampoo/soap/makeup. After reading the thread about beauty products I felt very confused. Both my RE and my OB have never told me I needed to consider changing these products. Also, both told me I could dye my hair if I wanted to now so clearly they aren't so worried about the shampoo I use!

I think what happens is people read a lot, especially FTM, and we randomly see websites that say "No sulfates" or "No formaldehyde" or "No salicylic" and we make decisions based off that and our own comfort level. No doctor has ever told me, nor has any doctor probably ever told most of the people to change. I think it's just we read this and we're like "Oh okay it's bad I should change" when it may not mean we have to at all. I don't think it's really that big a deal, tbh. I've changed to gentler products because my skin needs gentler products right now, and you know, it wouldn't hurt anything to cut out sulfates or whatever. That's all. I don't think there's any hard and fast rule when it comes to cosmetics and pregnancy, and I hoped I made it clear in my thread that it was was more about the products than it was about judging people for choosing this over that. Everyone's different.
My unpopular opinion? I like this BMB. I like women who tell the damn truth and don't shove glitter up my asshole. I like snark. I like science-based facts!

I think it's totally ok that I put my 1 year old in time outs already. My MIL and SIL think I'm crazy and a mean old mommy... but he knows that he can't lift the heating vents out of the floor anymore... and soon he will learn that standing on his chair is not ok with mommy. I'm totally happy being the mean old mommy if my son learns he needs to listen to me.

You are fine he is too young to understand other punishment and it is not mean or punitive just sit down and not play for a minute or two. Disciplining and teach self responsibility early is a wonderful thing. They are nearly impossible to teach later and at this point it's for his safety not punitive.
I am having to pay $300 every u/s and have had 4 so far. $200 for every blood test with 2 and counting. Awesome. Meanwhile, my friend who is pregnant making 3 dollars less than I am gets covered 100% with insurance I can't qualify for. (She makes 10 I make 13) I make too much, even though the 3 dollars puts me in a higher tax bracket and I bring home about 50 dollars more than she does. It makes me want to quit and at this rate I might have to! I will just add it onto my student debt from a community college. I never qualified for help with that either, my parents made too much, but never helped me with school so not even sure why they were the deciding factor. I lived on my own since 18. I feel like I am dying slowly. I have nothing against those who need it but in this case, I feel I am one of the ones who could use some help here. Ugh. Why can't I catch a break? #bitchfest

Yet other people are like "OMG, you are so RUDE for telling me that I am wrong and full of it. Do you act like this in real life! This group is for rainbows, support and puppies. And to tell me that I have a baby bump (not bloat), to confirm I am feeling my jelly bean, that it is a boy/girl of a my 10 week U/S."

And that it's totally safe to post a picture of your nearly naked self on a public internet forum. I mean, the interwebz are totally safe!
I only give snark where snark is due. If a question is asked that deserves snark, it gets snark. Otherwise, I give my nice answer. I think the other "snark captains" do the same. That's the point.

@ButterMyBiscuit - Agreed. I never give snark on spotting or fear of miscarriage or anything like that. When someone asks if anyone else has MS or if they're bloated? Fair game.
@jlgriff11 I think hear what you're saying, sometimes people get turned into the "evil" white knight if they happen to disagree with those who are flaming the offender. Eh... we all have different opinions that's ok. FWIW I still think our board is pretty tame compared to past bmb's I've been on. I think most of our flaming is done in good humor and pretty harmless. -signed, A rainbows and glitter girl
Meh, just a figure of speech BUT glitter is totally a pain in the ass. It's like an infectious disease that you can't get rid of once it's released.
We call glitter "art herpes" where I come from, for just that reason.
I'm somewhat rainbows and puppies, but one more thread about "OMG, I feel so SHITTY" and I wanna slap some people.
My UO: I wasn't at all bothered by the photo. I have honeymoon pics up on Facebook in a bikini, and my face is in those and my bikini is way skimpier than her undergarments. Granted, FB has SOME privacy settings, but in all honesty they own my photos forever, and I know that. I'm not vain enough to think I'm going to get raped because of it.

My UO: I think elective 4D ultrasound baby pictures are creepy. I'm not talking about medically appropriate ultrasounds done at the doctor's office. I'm talking about "keepsake images" made at "ultrasound boutiques." They creep me out.

They're a little disturbing. Lol. But pretty accurate. My ultrasonographer flips the switch occasionally on the machine just because she can (and I get 4 million u/s per pregnancy) and I swear they look just like that. Only in color, of course. My first two were pretty early, and I swear came out and looked precisely as I expected.
My UO: I have two Costco hot dogs I could cry I am so incredibly happy! I wish I had gotten 4! Nitrates? don't care, processed? Don't care I will eat what I can keep down and actually sounds decent!!!

Whoa whoa whoa..stop the train. Who said anything about rape?! Rape is never the fault of the victim. It's the fault of the asshole who rapes them. I'm not certain I understand what you're getting at...
UOs all day all day: I say what I want, nice or snarky, and I believe that's what the internet is for! I think skinny people and STMs+ show early. I think bikini photos with or without faces are 100% okay to post anywhere on the internet and that telling people how to dress or what's "appropriate" is slut shaming and not cool. Every time I see that sort of thing getting support I wonder how much it's based on jealousy and insecurity rather than actual concern. I also think there's a TON of over-reacting to "security" or "privacy" threats around here. Way too much dateline NBC is being watched. Lots of people choose to exist transparently online and that's 100% okay and their prerogative. And for the billionth time, it's my UO that it's not okay to tell other people what to do or how to live their lives in any way- how to dress, what to post, whether to get a flu shot, what to eat, where to birth, etc etc etc. It's all mommy wars. Any time anyone is telling someone else they SHOULD or SHOULDN'T it's mommy wars. Just thought I'd mention that since we all hate mommy wars so much, but seem to unknowingly contribute to them.

Nope. Not jealous of anyone. I just don't need to see anyone's tits.
Clearly, you know nothing about some of the cat fishing sketchy shit that has gone down on TB
Oh and also, no one is slut shaming so relax amber rose.

It's not slur shaming or telling people what to do or say. Do whatever you want on Fb or your blog. I do not come to the bump to half naked women. Period. Indecent or not, I don't want to see your panties or bra. Respect me. Period.

What about respecting other women's right to dress however they'd like? It's not against terms of use to post pictures that include bras or panties. Why do you get to decide what other people wear or post? Why would your opinion be the one that dictates what is respectful or disrespectful rather than the community's agreed upon terms of use?
