    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
    Nothing new to report :)

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
    Not a thing

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it?
My parents and extended family call me Nicki (uggghhhh), DH calls me "Cakes" (shortened from Baby Cakes, which is what I originally called him, but he stole it), and I get Nic from random other family (my brothers and SIL) and a good friend who's like a sister.
  • How far along are you: 15 weeks and 1 day

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: No symptoms today. Rant: My boss is coming to supervise my therapy sessions with my client today which means I'll be at work late :(. Rave: My headache is finally gone and no sickness this morning!

What are you doing to get ready for baby?  Hubby and I are struggling to think of a name for our baby girl, we are both so picky.

    Questions? None today.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? My full name is Kimberly but most people call me Kim.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: It seems yesterdays return of morning sickness was not a fluke. Hoping it only hangs around for a few days like last time ms reappeared. Otherwise I just feel like I want to sleep all day.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it?: my first initial and maiden name. A friend in high school saw my school given username and thought it was so much better than hers because it sounded like a nickname, not a generic username. It stuck with my school friends and then when they met my college friends is got passed on. Doesn't make quite as much sense now that I'm married but it has stuck.
  • @Jerseygirl9090 Glad to hear you're feeling better! DH and I haven't thought of a girls name either. We have a boys name pretty much nailed down, but for whatever reason can't come up with a girls name. Luckily you've got some time to decide :)
  • @Sgoldberg247 Hope the MS clears up soon. The tiredness doesn't seem to ever go away :/
  • @mrsschmity Thanks! I feel so much better today! Yeah we had a boys name picked out then found out it was a girl! But we are so excited to be having a girl, my hubby wanted a girl I just want a healthy baby but girls are hard to name! lol

  • @Jerseygirl9090 @mrsschmity I'm jealous of your decisiveness on names! I thought we were decided on names and I'm just not loving either name we had nailed down any more. I have one girls name that I love but DHs family naming traditions have you name the baby in honor of a deceased family member (which I love the sentiment behind) by using the first letter of their name. As of now, no one in his family has passed away with the right initial so it needs to be benched for the time being.
  • @Sgoldberg247 My boys name was set in stone from the start but my girls name kept changing lol. My hubby and I would finally find one we agree on then I'd change my mind on it lol. I feel like I should use a family name but there none that I'm too crazy about. My mom gave me her middle name so I thought about doing the same for my daughter but my middle name is Danielle and I'm not that crazy about it.

@Sgoldberg247 The only reason we have a boys name nailed down is because we knew that if we had a boy, we'd want to try and incorporate one of our dads names into it. Turns out that both of our dad's names put together for First and Middle name sounds awesome lol For a girl, I have no freaking clue.

I love the tradition of your DH's family when it comes to names! That is actually pretty cool.
  • How far along are you: 13w5d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: so ready to say goodbye to the first trimester

What are you doing to get ready for baby? House hunting

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? Rach or rachie - nothing exciting lol
  • How far along are you: 14 weeks!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Nothing new symptom-wise. I do wish I had more energy. That's getting pretty old. Excited for only 2 more days of work though!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Just reading up on stuff. DH and I might go to target to add more stuff to our private registry, but we are still researching products.

    Questions?

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? My family just calls me an abbreviation of my first name with some calling me by my username. DH calls me baby or smallz, haha.

  • nicolesmith0624 SO cute that your hubs calls you Cakes

MrsB8214  Hope you aren't getting sick! Lots of vitamin C? Our immune systems are so wonky right now I feel like getting at least a head cold is inevitable unfortunately :(
  • I'm the opposite of all you ladies! We picked a girls name no problem, but can't even decide on top contenders for boys!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Slightly less nausea, some food aversions are going away.

Questions? Is anyone else getting numb arms when they fall asleep? I am normally a tummy sleeper so I'm trying to get used to sleeping on my left but I keep waking up with tingly arms. I assume this is just due to more blood volume?

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? I've never gone by my legal name, so my "nickname" is de facto my real name. :)

@aliciayarrish I have a friend who delivered alone (with her midwives) because her husband was unexpectedly out of town and she said that looking back on it, that it actually worked out for the best because she didn't have to worry about anyone else or their feelings or needs. So take that for what you will. Personally, I'd want support so I think it would be great to have friends or family -- although timing a trip could be tricky unless you're induced since babies aren't usually punctual. :)

@MrsB8214 I hear you on the head pressure. I am so congested but it never materializes into other symptoms. Also really hope I'm not getting sick!

@mrsschmity What a great spa day!

To everyone else with names, I am also jealous. We have some tentative candidates but are nowhere near an agreement!

  • How far along are you: 12w1d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Sneezing, runny nose, scratchy throat....I'm getting a cold! Aaah! Lots of honey and lemon tea and rest (ha!) in my future.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Started looking on Etsy for a pregnancy journal. I'm not normally a journaller, but I like th idea of keeping a record for my child to see one day.

Also staring to look up baby consignment stores around to look into maternity clothes and baby gear.

    Questions? Not today.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it?
When I was little family called me "carebear" or "doodlebug". DH typically calls me "babe".
  • @Sgoldberg247: Hope your MS doesn't stick around and you feel better soon!

@mrsschmity: What an awesome gift from DH!! Enjoy it!!

@jerseygirl9090: Glad your headache is gone and yay for no MS!

How far along are you: 13w3d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rant: WHY ISN'T IT FRIDAY YET?! This is my main rant Mon-Thurs. haha. Other than that, a little headache and still a bit sick but getting better each day. Rave: U/S today! My NT scan is this afternoon and DH will be able to join. Can't wait to see baby again! Symptoms: Heartburn quite a lot recently, sore nips/boobs, tired, random RLP, vagina pains, etc.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? I think I will start a list of everything we need and what we want to buy/put on a registry and start looking at cars this weekend. Maybe start packing up the stuff in the soon-to-be nursery? I keep all my sweaters/work clothes in there...where the heck am I going to put all those clothes now?? Oh well, not a bad problem to have :) One thing our house lacks is closet space on the main floor. Or maybe we just have too many clothes...

    Questions? None today

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? DH calls me Baby Bird. My oldest brother still calls me Amanda Panda. And I have one coworker who calls me Mandy. That's about it.

    Me - 33, DH - 33
    Married - May 2014
    DH - Low Count/Motility/Morph - Varicocele vein x 2 - surgery (8/11) - success!
    BFP - 10/10/15, EDD - 6/20/16 - It's a BOY!

  • You are all far too pro-active for me.  Our nursery is currently the dog's room (2 dog crates), the soon-to-be dog's room is full of office-like junk.  And we have a long list of names, but no decisions.  And I haven't even started looking at maternity clothes or baby stuff.  I just... have no energy to do these things yet.

How far along are you: 13w today!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Seriously... how is it STILL not Friday!?!  I woke up late this morning, remembered that I was driving an hour to go to one of our plants, and decided that being late didn't matter.  I showed up, nobody even knows that I'm here yet.  Should have slept in more.  My symptoms haven't changed, nausea (which seems to be limited to the morning and late evening now!), exhaustion, crazy strong sense of smell...

Questions? For side sleepers - what do you do with your arm?!  I either wake up with it cramping up from being confined below me or wake up to it asleep because it was extended under my pillow.  I just don't get it.  Stomach sleeping is slowly becoming less comfortable.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it?
Growing up, most people either called my by my last name or I was Kare-bear, which is funny because my new last name is Ballew (like the bear in Jungle Book) and one of our friends calls me Kare-bear and my DH Ballew-bear.

  • catherinekate yes, what the heck is that?! Every night I wake up with one of both of my arms tingly/asleep.
  • @hockeyfan42 it never fails to amaze me when people make somebody else's good news about them. "Why didn't you make MEEE feel special about your pregnancy?" Pfft.
  • @aliciayarrish I have a friend who delivered alone (with her midwives) because her husband was unexpectedly out of town and she said that looking back on it, that it actually worked out for the best because she didn't have to worry about anyone else or their feelings or needs. So take that for what you will. Personally, I'd want support so I think it would be great to have friends or family -- although timing a trip could be tricky unless you're induced since babies aren't usually punctual. :)

Good to see both sides.. and yes the timing is a huge worry of mine! It's not like you can get a last minute overseas flight for anything near reasonable. So it is good to see that someone actually felt she benefited from only having medical staff. Maybe I can make that work for me with a lot of mind power :D

  • How far along are you:  12 weeks 6 days

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Restless leg syndrome... all night... every night. Rave - pretty much everyone with the exception of work knows now so that has made my life less stressful and more exciting to talk about it!!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? NT Test in 1/2 an hour! So excited to see baby!!

    Questions? None today

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? In high school my nickname was Cheetah (i have freckles)... but that hasn't really carried over into adulthood... DH calls me Pook.

    TTM - EDD 4/23 - Team Green <3
  • @DeePaddy24 Jackson is our top boys name too!! I absolutely love it!!

Also I'm awake enough to rant now so here goes: over the summer I had 2 weeks off from school so DH and I went to Canada for vacation. The day before we were leaving I woke up sick (side note I'm an NP student so I was around sick people the whole semester and never got sick until I was on break from school WTF?!) Now I am starting to feel like I might be getting a cold and we leave for vacation with my family the day after Christmas. Seriously my body hates me and doesn't want me to have any fun on vacation!
  • @Jerseygirl9090 We are in the EXACT same situation. Totally sold on a boy name. Won't need it! Girls' names ARE hard!

Also, ditto to all of the "How is not Friday?" questions!

How far along are you: 15+5

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rave - Today is my last full day of work! Half day tomorrow, then Christmas Break - glorious Christmas Break.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Trying to sell DH on my favorite girl name. He loves my #2 choice, but I feel like it's a distant second to my favorite - which hasn't vetoed, but isn't totally in love with (yet?)... ;)

    Questions? None today.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? I have a super common name, so growing up, I went by my initials. It's just not working for me as an adult / in a professional setting, but some people are never going to get used to my real name...Oh well.

@hockeyfan42 You win the prize of the day just for saying "amazeballs." Love that word!
@mrsschmity I am jealous of your gift! Can we also use that internetz machine of yours to go with you to the spa day?!?

How far along are you: 15+1

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rants: Super tired and thus super cranky. Suddenly everyone is really annoying, haha. Raves: Just told my boss I'm pregnant and it went well despite me feeling anxious for no reason! Symptoms: Cold symptoms! What is with this sneezing?! UGH.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Shopping around online and making a secret baby registry that I haven't even told DH about yet! Sent out our announcement Christmas cards on Tuesday so I'm thinking the local people should be getting them soon. Hoping for some fun phone calls. Will likely post on FB tomorrow or Saturday.

Questions? Is it really just Thursday?

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? Not really. My name is Candice and some people have tried to call me Candy but that generally doesn't go over well!

    Edit: Spelling is difficult, apparently!

@candicek15 Why yes, yes we can use the internet time machine, and all of you can come join me for a spa day!

    *Edit because words are hard
  • @MrsB8214 I also had a bad sleep last night- grumble grumble.  Hope you're okay :)
@catherinekate hooray for less nausea.  Mine has been either absent or HORRIBLE this week so I'm loving a day of eating and feeling stable in the belly.  Long may they last.
@crdo NOooooo having a cold and being pregnant is such a drag.  Hope you heal quickly.  Anything special you're doing to take care of it?  Hard when there's not much we preggo ladies can take, medicine-wise.  I was getting a sore throat but it seems to be at bay just now.

How far along are you: 12w 5d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling a lot better right now than I have for a few days so that's good!  I had a terrible sleep last night so I'm drowsy but I'll take that over keeling over at my desk.
Rave: Going out for dinner with my hubby and our best couple friends who we haven't seen in months.  Even though I know it'll make me even more tired I am sooo jazzed.  My BIL is babysitting.  Rock on.
Rant: Rant-free today and loving it!  All sunshine and rainbows here :)

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Trying to envision how to best rearrange furniture in our apartment. We're eventually going to turn our big bedroom into the kids' room and sleep in my daughter's small room.  It'll be a fun family switch-up.  I love my neighbourhood, local friends, everything at my doorstep etc. so I deal with having a small living space.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? Most people call me Steph even though I prefer Stephanie. Nothing else has really stuck over the years.  My mom and husband- my nearest and dearest- always call me Stephanie.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rave- last night at church we had fried chicken, macaroni, green beans, and cake and guess who got to go home with all the leftovers? Yours truly.  So blessed! lol Symptoms- occasional lightning crotch (Thank goodness it's not more often), some RLP, nasal congestion and post-nasal drip like a mofo, fatigue and headaches.  Not sure how much the latter two symptoms are pregnancy vs work stress...

What are you doing to get ready for baby? We got approved for our home equity line of credit so now we're looking into having someone come out and draw up plans to finish the garage and add room for baby!

    Questions? Not right now...

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? DH usually calls me babe or baby but recently has been calling me little momma :) , mom calls me LeeLee sometimes.

Edited to add that I hope all of you that are still having MS start feeling better soon!!

  • Yay for name chats! I love it. We have a boys name but are kinda stuck on a girl because we used our fav on DD. We loved the name Emily but then I looked at how popular it was and  when i googled it I saw so many comments of teachers saying there was like 6 Emilys in their class so it is gone now.
@DeePaddy24 @ @MrsB8214 I love the name Jackson! Two ladies from my last BMB called their boys Jackson and I love them both.

    How far along are you:
    13 and 1

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I forgot to take my MS meds last night. BIG boo boo. I am dying today. Sciatica still causing trouble and why does RLP have to be such a jerk. I fear sneezing, coughing or moving in bed. Rave my H bought me a necklace with DDs birth stone for Christmas. Safe to say he is in the good books today.

GTKY: Do you have a nickname? What is it? A lot of my family and friends call me "Doll" based on my first name.

UGH. I am really struggling with girl names. And I've been circling around the idea of Emily...But disliked how popular it is. I was trying to tell myself that people use all sorts of youneek names now and the rankings don't necessarily mean the number of babies with the same name is as high as it was in the past... Drat.
