Because I am bored and I can't think of anything productive to do. I thought it would be fun to see what everyone does for a living.
Post away!
I am a Food Safety Laboratory Manager (Microbiologist). I absolutely love my job , but am really considering not coming back after maternity leave.

I do payroll and HR/benefits administration for a recreation company- we mostly sell and service RVs and boats but we also have ski equipment, a department that sells and installs pools, a gym and we do custom canvas work.
Ironically I don't ski and don't really like camping (although I could probably get behind RV camping)

February 2016
Luckily things are super fast-paced and I'm sure there will be plenty for me to do when I return after 6 months of maternity leave. I am looking forward to a nice long chunk of time with the baby, but I think I'll be pumped to get back to work when the time comes.
aShShE that is an awesome response!
I work for a larger financial institution support legal, risk and compliance functions, not strong feelings about it either way but the paychecks come in and its tolerable. I would love to be a SAHM for some period of time once our boy is here but we can't make it work financially
So now I'm taking care of things with 4 legs and fur. It's actually really relaxing and some of my clients are award winning dogs, which is pretty cool.
Soon I'll be a certified trainer as well! Almost done with those classes
I wish I could be a SAHM, but my personality doesn't fit it. I would get really depressed, I have to be super busy and constantly moving around (outside of the house) or my mind attacks itself. I'm pretty glad DH and I will have opposite schedules so we can both work and both have time with the baby.
I think after I have the baby I'm going to start volunteering with the Red Cross at WR until I'm ready to be working 100% again .
I hope you'll go back when the baby is older. I'm sure your clients will miss you!
I am an RN, working full time in a large hospital. Like @JMarie1291, I left a VERY busy trauma position when we decided to start a family, because as much as I absolutely loved my job, it was very consuming. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to go part time for a few years after this one is born.
I'm surprised by how many SAHMs or soon to be SAHMs there are, I'm wondering if since we're a message board and these posts all came during the day that maybe the "sample" is skewed.
