@lalab99 I remember being young too and scared to get pregnant when I was sexually active. I even had a few scares all of them dur to not using protection, I was young and stupid. And I retrospect I feel silly now taking the morning after pill or taking a test when It has been 40 days with no period. Now I know better, PCOS was the reason I would go so long with a period, and there was basically no danger of me ever being pregnant. Thankfully I never caught a STD either.

You're right we are close to each other cycle wise :) And of course I would love to talk more about adoption when we get closer to it, I already know so much from reading about it a lot. The fact we cannot adopt from Haiti before we are married 5 years gives us a lot of time to get prepared.
Have you tried yoga? I just do some simple stretching poses not really full blown yoga, but some people I know say it can be very relaxing. How about meditation? There are some very good and calming breathing techniques.

  • I had bloodwork today. I've been taking follistum 150 units every night since Monday. They told me today to stay on the follistum same dose until Monday night with an ultrasound and bloodwork on Tuesday. I don't know why but I feel sad about it. My levels are on the low side, which makes everything anxious. Blarg.

What's your estradiol level @kennelchick?  My levels were slow rising, I thought.  Was today your first check-in?  My level was in the 200s on the first check, but it doubled every check and the last level was 1800 and I had 10 mature eggs.  I hope that helps because I was kind of disappointed in my levels the first few checks even though they said I was responding well.

ETA: E2 Levels: 234, 594, 990, 1817 - checked every two days except the last two were one day apart.

  • @emsmama15 that does help! The nurse didn't tell me my number, and I didn't ask. As a nurse myself I'm kicking myself for not asking. I was at work and only had a few minutes to talk. I hope I get good results on Tues.

  • I'm new here and wanted to wish everyone the best of luck.

We had our transfer yesterday morning at RMANJ. We transferred 1 PGD'd day 6 blast that was hatching.

    Fingers crossed for everyone!
  • @joyful38 my HSG was torture. The transfer was a piece of cake. The worse part was the speculum insertion with s full bladder, and it was just uncomfortable, not painful. Try not to worry (I know, easier said than done).
  • Second the good luck @Sparrow004!

I have been a little MIA lately, but I have been reading everyone's updates! I am waiting for AF so I can start BCP and get an FET cycle started. We have nine frozen embabies! Four at the highest grade our lab has (2AA), four at the second highest (2AB), and one at the third highest (2BB). I have an appointment with RE tomorrow to discuss FET protocol and how many embryos to transfer.

@kennelchick My levels were slow to rise as well. My first check, after 3 days of stims, was 175, but once they rose it was insane! The day before trigger my E2 was 2908. I stimmed for 11 days before trigger. I had 24 eggs retrieved.

@emsmama15 Those are beautiful embryos!! FX for you!

  • I had my ET this morning! We transferred one embryo because PGD determined that 1 is normal, 7 are abnormal, and 1 is inconclusive. They performed another biopsy before freezing the embryos with inconclusive results. If the results are normal, then I'll have one more embryo for a future attempt.
  • Congratulations to all the ETs today! FX for you all!
  • Congrats @SparrowTales (@sparrow004??) I hope your perfect little bean settles in for a 9 month trek!
I saw your separate post on your PGD testing and I was very surprised about your results at your age. We had 4/4 abnormal last cycle, but I am 38 and typically they say ~50% are abnormal. Hoping that your re-biopsy looks good, but FX you won't need it and this cycle is it!

@takethelongway glad you are back and congrats on you many embabies! Are you back home now?

I have tried and failed a number of times not to stress out about something I have 0 control over. My last update was Friday and there were 6 embies, know that tomorrow I may get great news (enough made it through weekend to biopsy/freeze), good news (not enough made it, going to transfer and hope there is a good one!) or the dreaded heartbreaker (that none made it)....such a roller coaster ride this whole process is!

Sending all our PUPO ladies baby dust!!!

  • I go back to the doctor tomorrow for an ultrasound and blood-work. I feel like I've been living at the doctor office recently.

I am hoping to hear how many follicles there are. I was wondering how many follicles are "normal"? I know everyone is different, but I have nothing to go by...

Thanks in advance for your help.
  • @2legbaby. Yes, that's still me! I was not expecting those numbers, but I am very thankful for my one perfect embryo that made it in.
  • @DLB50577 - Congrats on the Transfer! Is this your first IVF cycle? I had my first consultation a week ago at RMANJ. How do you like them? I have to go for my HSG in about 2 weeks. Not looking forward to that.

Life is so unfair, My brother just called me to say that his wife is 12 weeks pregnant with their second child.

We started trying even before they try for the first one, and he will be two in three months.

First one took 3 cycles. Second one was the first cycle THE FIRST CYCLE, and it was their honeymoon too OF COURSE.

    WHY

WHY NOW, I don't need this now, I don't need this. I am terrified that my FET won't work, I cannot handle another failure or miscarriage, especially not if she is pregnant. Now they are going to announce to all the family at Christmas and I will have to stand there and smile while it is all people talk about, everyone will ask about us, and I will literally have peed on a stick that very morning with either news that the FET failed or that I am pregnant but scared to death I may lose that one too.

I don't want to go, I can't handle this. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I feel so envious, jalous, like she took what should of been mine. I know it's unreasonable, but it feels like she took my baby.

  • Congrats and baby dust to everyone! I am taking my HCG tonight, and egg retrieval on Tuesday. This is my first IVF cycle and my DH and I are super excited. PS has anyone else experienced terrible burning from granirelex?
  • @Alyeena I am so sorry you are dealing with this right now, I think we can all be unreasonable about these things at times. I agree with @emsmama15 about "skipping" Christmas with your family and focus on you, hubby and hopefully your little bean. If you're not opposed to a little white lie, a stomach bug could keep you away from that unnecessary stress...and also let your SIL and brother share their excitement as you will want to *when* your time comes....hugs!

  • @Alyeena  I am truly sorry for this news!  I think we can all relate to what you are feeling and it is natural to feel this way.  We are here for you to vent and I can speak for myself that I am giving you the biggest hug right now!!!  As far as Christmas, could you go later, so you aren't there when they announce?  I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your brother, but I'm sure he knows you are trying.  Tell him you are so happy for them, but could they announce at the beginning, so you are there feeling very uncomfortable with all the questions being asked of when you are going to have kids?!?!  I am so sorry you are faced with this situation.  I will pray that you get your BFP soon!  Thinking about you!

Best of luck to everyone who has transfers, retrievals or just need some luck with appointments.  Baby dust to anyone in the TWW!

  • @Foxy8609 yes, this is our first IVF cycle although we've been at RMA since January. I was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia, so I went through 4 months of testing and treatment before the oncologist would clear me for IVF.

In general, we've liked RMA. We go to the Allentown PA office to Dr. Schillings. She's not my favorite person (awful bedside manner) but she has a good track record.

I've had 2 HSGs. My best advice is take Tylenol before hand and try to stay relaxed.
  • So bad news today for DH and I, still 6 embryos but very slow growing. Too small to biopsy and given their growth and our last pgd results re doesn't want to transfer as worried they are slow growing for a reason. Giving them one more day to see, but she was pretty pessimistic/realistic that this was it. ...arghhhhh!
Next step egg donor but feel like I need to wrap my head around it ; (

Hope everyone is doing better than me today with news :)

  • Hi ladies!  @ 2legbaby-sorry, for your sad news.  I will pray for those embryos to keep growing.

Just heard from our RE and our of our 3 eggs, 1 is now an embryo.  They will do a day 3 transfer.  Our big day is Wednesday.  I pray this works and we get our Christmas miracle because our next step is donor egg.  Hopefully, though because our first IVF cycle they did a day two transfer so that makes me feel better about quality.  Is that how they base it on what day they transfer as to the quality of it?

Baby dust to all ladies this week!

    DLB050577SparrowTales , keep us posted!

Smallinetta, I know it is so hard to go to the dr so much!  I was so aggravated around thanksgiving, I had to go the Wednesday before, then Friday-Monday.  And, my clinic shut all offices down except two, so everyone was going to ours and each time was a 2+ hour wait.  It is so frustrating, and I just kept telling myself over and over that it will be worth it!

Alyeena you are ALLOWED to feel defeated right now, life is just crap sometimes and sometimes certain people get crapped on over and over.  My sister already has two kids, and she came crying to me that she has been trying 6 mths and can't get pregnant, and she swears that her body won't let her b/c of me.  She literally said that!!  I know it is so hard to be happy for other people when we are so sad about ourselves.  I am so, so sorry to hear about this, and you can stay in bed any time you like.  If you need a day to recover, take it, if you need to take a month break, then take it.  Sometimes, we have to indulge in our sadness in order to move on.

Nursene2003, good luck!  Ganrilex didn't give me many side effects, it definitely hurt more than the other though.  The thing that I hated the most is the progesterone!  I am on 3 suppositories a day and they are plain crap!

@Foxy8609 I am at RMA too!  I'm at RMAnj though, and I haven't been super happy with them. I feel like they are a bit too big and a huge baby factory.  A lot of information gets missed on my end, and sometimes I feel like they don't really care.  I have a different Dr. for every procedure, which I am not sure if that's the norm, but I kinda wanted to see my dr. more than just the consultation.

2legbaby. I am so sorry to hear about your eggs. Stay hopeful, you never know.  I had two that they needed extended time to watch, that turned out fine after 10 days and ended up being frozen.  FX for  you!

Just a quick update on me, my TWW is finally over, I got my bloodwork, and finally the call that it was a BFP.  However, I have had 3 mc from natural conception, so I don't want to get too excited yet.  I need to make it to the New Year in order to surpass the mc dates, and then I will be able to breathe a bit easier until I finally get to the 2 trimester.

Thinking of you all and sending you all positive vibes and prayers!!

@Nursene2003 - Are you doing the ganerelix in the thigh or the stomach?  My first round, I did the thigh (per my nurses orders) and had terrible inflammation and itching.  My whole thigh looked like I had put it in a batch of poison ivy.  This time around the nurses said to do into the abdomen and I had zero side effects.  Everyone reacts differently and as long as it's not completely severe, I think it's just one more of the trials we endure in this whole process.

@Alyeena, I agree that your brother's timing is terrible!  Does he know you're trying and all that you are going through to have a baby?  Would your SIL and bro consider NOT announcing at Christmas out of respect for you?  I'm so sorry you are going through all of that.  Concentrate on yourself and FX for a BFP on that magical day.  Maybe then you can totally steal his thunder! :-)

I went through my own pity party this morning (I have no idea what else to call it).  I had some pretty good cramping yesterday and what I thought was a little spotting (it was so minimal it could have been panty lint) so I decided to POAS this morning and got a BFN.  I'm 9dp3dt so I'm hoping that's still too early?  I have been very optimistic until today.  Now I just feel like bad news is waiting for me this week at my beta (12/17).  It didn't help that I went to the dentist this morning and on my paperwork it asked if you think or are pregnant.  I put 'yes' and had to deal with the entire office wishing me congratulations.  It was easier to just smile and nod rather than explain the whole story.  Hopefully we ALL can say YES for sure very soon!

  • Congrats on your BFP @sfleiss ! I can only imagine with your previous losses that your happiness is tempered with caution but you are on the right track! I hope you have lots to do the next few weeks to keep you busy!
