Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Picked up my free breast pump from Target today. I know its early but its checked off my list.
Upcoming appointments: Dec. 22 for OB check up and Jan. 7 for A/S
Questions for the Group: None that I can think of
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? Yes, she is about 5 weeks ahead of me but I love being able to talk to her about everything.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My cold is finally going away! 2 weeks of total misery and I felt up to doing things today!! No pregnancy news this week.
Upcoming appointments: A/S on the 29th
Questions for the Group: Anyone dealing with any swelling yet? I don't look swollen but my carpal tunnel symptoms have been really flaring up these past few days.
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? Nope, my BFF is due early February and my other close friend had her second last week. So this LO will have a few friends that are a little older.
Rants/raves/symptoms: feeling pretty good in general. Ran a 5k today with my daughter. I peed right before and had to pee in the middle. Talk about pressure.
Upcoming appts: monday I have a regular check up and my anatomy scan!!
Questions for the group: none at this time
GTKY: A good friend of mine (we played basketball together in high school) is due a few weeks before me. Her and I were pregnant together 8 years ago and we're both having baby #2 eight years later.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The round ligament pain this pregnancy is the worst it's ever been. And I could do without this cold.
Upcoming appointments: None right now. I need to call next week and schedule one for January sometime. I'll finally have insurance again by then.
GTKY: Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? No. I have a SIL who is pregnant, but we're not close at all. She lives in my basement and we NEVER talk. I'm okay with that. No one else around me is pregnant, and since no one knows I am, it doesn't really matter.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Lots of round ligament pain lately, still haven't felt any movement other than what I think MAY have been movement last Friday. My bump is turning more and more into a real bump lately...I can feel it's harder now and not just fatty feeling. I have heartburn after literally every single thing I eat...if this kid comes out without hair I'm pretty sure I won't believe its mine. Tums are my friend.
Upcoming appointments: Tuesday the 15th for a monthly checkup and heartbeat.
Questions for the Group: I read in a thread on here that we're not supposed to get massages...anyone know why?
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? I actually do have a really good friend who is also pregnant! She just told me about two weeks ago, but she's about 7 weeks ahead of me. It's good to have someone in person to be able to talk to about all this pregnancy stuff with!
@valerie4786 as for the massages i believe it is because some pressure points are thought to bring on contractions. But a prenatal massage would be ok since the masseuse should be trained properly.
@yogahh I researched daycares in our town back in late September or early October mainly to see what it would cost us. The one I liked didn't have costs listed online so I had to request an information packet that had a lot more details, including cost. Then they started emailing me often and finally when they called to ask if I'd be interested in a tour, I explained I wasn't due until the end of May and we likely wouldn't even be starting daycare until September, almost a year away, and that I was just trying to start planning ahead. They laughed and asked if I'd like them to call back in April, which I think is great. So we've looked into it, but nothing too serious yet. I've heard really great things about this daycare and liked a lot of what I read about it, but we'll wait a bit before doing interviews and tours. Good luck with your interview!
Rants/Raves: Friends who tells me their moms will look after our baby - and I don't know the mom. Do they think it's like a toy you can share with everyone?! Really annoyed me.
Upcoming appointments: 17th for check-up. Also hoping they can see whether it's a boy or a girl.
Questions: Does anyone else have friends who think that the baby will be everyones and that they automatically have rights to babysit it and share with their families? (Sorry it really annoyed me - like I said I don't know the mom at all)
GTKY: Nope - Only friend who is pregnant - the constant attention is starting to overwhelm me.
Rants/Raves: Still nauseous and throwing up - but not as much, and I've been able to go a few days without taking zofran (A first for me since week 5!).
Upcoming appointments: This Monday - I start weekly appointments with MFM to take cervical lengths (for my history of preterm labor). I'm so excited to see little one because I'm not feeling movement yet.
Questions: Anybody else doing progesterone shots or cervical length checks? just thought I'd ask! Who is doing your shots? My MIL is going to give me mine, starting tomorrow! haha
GTKY: Nope. I haven't done a great job keeping up with friends because nausea/vomiting steals my soul. But my husband's cousin is due 2-3 weeks before me. tricky thing is that I'm going to be a 37wk c/s, so we could end up very close. She lives out of state though.
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
@JennyS86- where do you have to do the shot? I'm not on progesterone shots, but I'm on lovenox shots and have to do them in my stomach every day. Once I get bigger, I might have to do them in my arm, but definitely can't do that myself. I'll have to find someone to help.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Halfway point! So excited! I'm just ready to feel him moving, but it may be awhile since my placenta is in the front.
Upcoming appointments:
I just had one, so I'll have another on January 7th and then on January 22nd with the high risk doctor (there were a few flags thrown at my u/s, and the high risk doctor wasn't worried, but they like to do scans again at 25 weeks or so for better images just in case).
Questions for the Group: Anyone else have to see a high risk doctor? I was actually really impressed with ours. What a tough job, and he has the best bedside manner.
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you?
There is a girl at my church due a month before me, so that's been fun.
Week/Fruit: 19/mango, heirloom tomato and zucchini
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Had my AS appointment on the 9th, baby boy was doing great he was super cooperative for the tech and turned when she made him. She also said he's an estimated 10 oz and 9 days ahead of schedule! (could be an April baby) and I've felt so many flutters from him!!!
Upcoming appointments: Jan 7th for a routine check up, can't wait to schedule our 3D ultrasound via our OB office!! I don't get why people risk it at those boutique funzie places
Questions for the Group:
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? Not a BFF but a girl I go to the gym with, we're around 1-2 weeks of each other. She's having a girl and I'm having a boy. I also know 5 other girls on my Facebook that's due in April or May also. I wish my BFF would start trying but she's waiting till next year
lalala2004 I saw a high risk OB (they are called MFM at my hospital) at 8 weeks. I wanted to build a plan around avoiding a high risk pregnancy this time around. I see another doctor from the same group tomorrow, and I will see someone weekly until 24 weeks. They are monitoring my cervix for shortening, even though it is thought that last pregnancy my issue was preterm labor. So far I'm very impressed with their professionalism and evidence-based practice!
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: RLP occasionally if I move weirdly or get up too fast. Some congestion - I usually get it bc of allergies this time of year but this year it seems worse. I'll take it over worse symptoms though.
Upcoming appointments: 12/24 for anatomy scan and 12/29 for regular appointment.
Questions for the Group:
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? Literally no one I know is even pregnant right now, so no. I know people currently trying or who are going to start trying very soon but that's it. My step sisters BFF is due I think the same day as me, but I don't personally know her. Closest I have is that I know a few people with birthdays near my due date - SIL, my niece, one of our close friends daughter, and a few friends from work.
Week/fruit: 16/avocado Rants/raves/symptoms: Rants:my back and hips have been so sad lately, and rlp is a fickle, fickle bitch. Raves: I slept most of the day yesterday and it was magical, my hair has gotten nicer, and my skin seems to be calming down Symptoms:RLP, belly getting bigger, MY BOOBS ARE SO TENDER, and I'm just crazy emotional, oh and the dreams... Upcoming appts: midwife appointment on january 6, A/S january 8!! I finally got a WIC appointment scheduled, now I just need to schedule the eye doctor and dentist
Questions for the group: I dunno if you gals have experienced this in the same way, but my discharge isn't just constantly coming, it's more like waves.. with my previous loss, it causes me to have a mini panic attack every time it happens.. I was just curious if I'm alone in this heh.
GTKY: Do you have a BFF due around the same time as you? No, my best friend just had her 3rd chunky monkey on the 7th, but my older sister is due with her 3rd(a girl) 23'days before me, so that's weird haha
@JennyS86 That's what I figured. How often? I'd rather do daily stomach than any "backside" shots. The only person I have that can help me on a daily basis is my 11 year old. I really hope it doesn't come to that. Haha.
SweetBriarBee I bet your 11 year old would think shots are cool! Mine are weekly. The nurse educator said that later on, I will get sore from the shots...but for now, I should be fine. 20 shots for 20 weeks! But I hope I get to do all 20 because that means I'm still pregnant! ( I tend to look at the bright side).
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants/raves/symptoms: heartburn is starting to rear it's nasty head and the emotions have been super intense this week. Very teary - this crappy weather doesn't help.
Next apt: anatomy scan January 4th!
GTKY: starting in January I know at least 2 people per month having a baby. 4 in May - one sharing my due date (not counting all the Facebook friends due in May - fb is not real life!). Annnnnd a sister in law due within days of me. It's baby time apparently.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Food aversions are killing me. I used to love food...now it's a daily struggle. I've also noticed an uptick in RLP over the past day and a half. I can't really tell if I just overdid it at the gym or if my son is making himself a little more comfortable in there
Upcoming appointments: Repeat anatomy scan on the 22nd because he wouldn't cooperate for the full set 2 weeks ago.
Questions for the Group: anyone else use an inhaler occasionally after exercising? Before pregnancy I would need mine maybe once every 2 weeks (working out average 4x/week). Now I need it at least once, maybe twice a week. My doctor said it's nothing to be concerned about, so I'm not concerned...just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same.
GTKY - Do you have a BFF that's due around the same time as you? I have a high school friend who is due in March, so we have lots to talk about these days. I told her it's kind of nice that she's about 8 weeks ahead of me, because I get a preview into what is in store for me.

Questions for the Group: None for now

Yes! Lots of friends due around the same time, but one of my best friends is due 5 weeks before me!
Otherwise my cousin is due 2 days before me, and have high school friend and college friend both due the week before me.

Upcoming appointments: A/S on the 29th
