What do you think the sex of your baby?

  • I think I'm going to have a boy.
  • A few friends told me they have gut feelings I am having a girl.  My father-in-law always wanted a little girl (my husband and my brother-in-law were his only children), so I think he is hoping for granddaughter.  My sister is disgusted that I'm even having a kid.  My mother says "she" and I say "bean".  At this point, even post heartbeat, I'm still in denial a bit.  That's why I thought hanging around here would help settle my thoughts.

  • I change my answer from my original "I have no clue"....I now think I'm having a boy. I've had two people tell me it's definitely a boy and many of the old wives' tales point to a baby boy too! I'll still be happy whatever the sex happens to be, but I think it's fun to think about it.

  • I'm guessing girl. I have a girl, so that's what I know. My sister is really good at guessing the sex of babies also thinks it's a girl. I'd be really happy either way, so I'm excited to find out.

  • I'm going to say boy. Why? I don't know. I felt for sure about my son, so I'm going off my gut this time around too. Either way, we will be ecstatic.
  • It's a boy, without a doubt.
  • Lots of boys it appears! If appetite and the Chinese calendar mean anything, it's a boy for me too! The million dollar question is will my hubby let us find out!! I am too much of a planner to go for the surprise but he loves the idea. Ugh!!
  • I'm guessing boy because I pretty much feel the same as I did with my son, same food aversions, etc. Although lately I can stomach some chocolate and with him I didn't want any at all....but yeah overall it's so similar that that's my guess. I doubt that feeling the same = definitely same gender though ;)
  • I would like a little boy but as long as little bean is healthy we will be happy! So an anxious to know but we have decided not to find out until day of birth!
  • Even though this pregnancy is different I still feel like we are having another boy. Doctor said we might be able to find out at my 14 week appointment if baby cooperates.

  • I think boy but last night I dreamt it was a girl. Who knows?!?
  • This pregnancy feels, so far, the same as with my son; therefore, I'd guess boy. But, my mom said that she felt about the same with both my brother and me, and so far I have proven to be very much the same as her in terms of reproduction/progesterone levels/PPD. So, I'm sure I could just as well be having a girl this time around.

Just for grins, I looked up the old wives' tales, and again I'm split. Things that point to boy: 1) Leading up to conception, I was eating a low-carb diet, which in turn meant that I was eating a lot of meat, and I love me a hamburger; 2) I try to "marinate" after fun time - apparently this gives the boy sperm a chance to beat the girl sperm to the egg; 3) My husband always climaxes first, and "focusing on his pleasure" supposedly guarantees a boy; and 4) I sleep to the left of DH. Things that point to girl: 1) We were on vacation south of Charleston, SC during ovulation, and I was eating a lot of seafood; 2) I have a pretty big sweet tooth; and 3) I'm always on top. The Chinese calendar/gender predictor says girl, but by my math, we conceived on an odd-numbered date, which points to boy. So... I'm going to go with... BABY! :-)
  • Before getting pregnant I dreamed about having a third boy. Our two are sooo sweet and awesome. But as soon as I got the bfp I've been positive it's a girl.
  • I always wanted a boy first and a girl second, but almost from day one I've been convinced I'm carrying a girl. Every time I try to think of it as a boy, it just feels wrong, you know? My mom says she has the exact same feeling with me. But, I want at least one of each, so either way I'm happy!
  • I'm really hoping girl, I want one sooo bad! Of course I'll love a boy too but I already have a son and since this is my last am hoping for a girl. I saw a study of early ultrasounds and predicting sex based upon location of placenta with a 97% success rate. So if I don't fall in the 3%, should be a girl :-)
  • I feel like I'm having a boy. That is also what we are hoping for since we already have one girl. :)

  • I feel like I'm having a boy.. This pregnancy is much different than when I had my DD. I am always hungry and tired with this one, plus my back is already starting to ache... oh and I've been craving salty food like crazy!!

  • We think it may be a girl :) We always figured we'd have boys, but now that we're expecting we keep referring to the baby as 'she' and teasing my husband hay he will be out numbered (this is our first).
  • I have a feeling it's a girl. It's so early, but I've felt it's a girl from the very beginning. I think DH wants a boy, and so does my sister. I don't care either way :)
  • I had a feeling this one was another boy.  Just confirmed yesterday via Harmony that we are indeed having a third boy!
  • I feel like it's a girl or at least I hope so. I've Always liked the dynamics of families with an older sister/younger brother. Also, we have tons of girl names we like but DH keeps shooting down my boy names so if it's a girl that will make deciding a lot easier!
