So I'm part of this moms group on FB and almost all the 30week + pregnant moms complain about going to Disneyland. They all need wheelchairs and those sitdown scooters and get front of the line passes. It pisses me off, since when is walking bad for pregnant woman. Ugh
@Y0urm0m while I agree that some women seem to use pregnancy as an excuse to do or not do certain things, I can't help but remember every woman and pregnancy is different. I'm sure there are women that feel great first tri that think ppl like me,sick as $&!t, are just using it as "an excuse"

This is pregnancy #2 for me. Although my first pregnancy was a breeze I've been sick as shit this pregnancy. I've sucked it up. I don't see the point of making people as meserable as myself.
My UO: Not breastfeeding does not make me a selfish mom. I'll give it the good ol' college try, but if it doesn't work out, I'm not going to stress about it. My main concern is making sure that my baby gets the nutrition he/she needs - whether it be from a boob or a bottle.

This is pregnancy #2 for me too, and I was particularly miserable for a week. While I think some people can take it too far (wheelchairs? Really?) for that week I could do nothing. I was so tired and sick I went to bed at 7pm each night and had no energy since I couldn't keep anything down.
My UO is a kind of side eye people who are so nauseous but WONT take medicine. I have a friend that lost 20 pounds while pregnant because she wouldn't take meds. I don't understand that.
I feel like the vast majority of the things they tell you are off limits during pregnancy is just fear mongering nonsense. It actually makes me sorta ragey that there are all these blanket, generalized "rules" that maybe apply to certain folks but certainly don't apply to every single pregnant lady. (I swear to god I just read an article stating that you should check your temperature rectally every 20 minutes while working out so that you're not over heating.) Some thing are obvious---don't smoke---but some of this shit is just over the top.
@PinkLady2015 I'm not a strict rules follower when it comes to the do not eat list. And if you think about it....the listeria cases in the past couple of years have some from lettuce, peanut butter, cantaloupe, and ice cream. None of which are on the do not eat list.
@AB34 I get it that extreme morning sickness really sucks, and can make your whole day unproductive (or your whole week). There are some woman I know IRL who complain over and over, over the pettiest pregnancy symptoms. I just want to tell them to shut up and enjoy their healthy pregnancy.

Wait...
Your only supposed to check your anal temperature every 20 minutes when working out? And here I've been doing it when not working out too. Ugh
@pinklady2015 ugh I know! I eat everything in moderation (including bacon) and I hear it from other pregnant moms all the time..... "You know you can't eat that right?....
People put wayyyy too much effort into their holiday cards. I like getting them and all, but I look at them for maybe 30 seconds. They might end up on my fridge but other than that... meh. It's like every woman thinks she's a professional photographer/Martha Stewart/has the most perfect model family. I just hate how "showy" they have become.
I absolutely LOVE when SAHM's tell me they have no time to do anything like clean or do laundry (one even had to get a maid service)... REALLY?????? because I do all of that AND have this little gig called a full time job. Makes me RAGEY!!!!!!!! wtf do you do all day?!
I never craved a turkey sandwich until it was off limits.
I totally use my pregnancy to get out of things. Not even going to pretend I don't. "Honey, will you go downstairs and get me some water. I'm just soooo tired."

sorry. not sorry.
Right there with you.... particularly the SAHM's who only have school-aged kids.
So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"
@jlgriff11 It's anything that is cured that has nitrates. This includes deli meats or pepperoni etc... Honestly... if two different OBs said its okay and they don't work together then I am sticking with that. lol
Pffffffffff! Give me all the bacon. I even have a hot dog here and there and eat bologna sandwiches at least once a week.
Pretty sure my baby will be fine.
When I asked my midwife "Why is there such an emphasis on protein? Doesn't protein deficiency generally only affect starving people?" she stared at me blankly and said "Well that is true..." and told me she'd get back to me.

So I'm going to preface this by saying you're completely right that walking is good for pregnant women. I'm not sure your situation but some people get extraordinarily uncomfortable towards the end of pregnancy. Perhaps they were embellishing and just trying to commiserate?
Oh man I'd loveeeeeeeeeeeeee to go to Disneyland at any stage. Give me the scooter and FOL passes. Of course, when I was a CM we'd go and toss one of our visiting friends in a WC for front of the line action. We were terrible people.
But Disneyland is really the only place that they have FOL for wheelchair accessible, because most of the rides were built before it was a requirement by law or whatever, but Disney World is much more wheelchair accessible, and you mostly have to wait in the regular line.

Perhaps they don't have washing machines and they have to use washing boards and soaking bins. I could see not having time for that.
But... In all seriousness the newborn stage can be hellish and sometimes those things can really go by the wayside.
My UO: Not breastfeeding does not make me a selfish mom. I'll give it the good ol' college try, but if it doesn't work out, I'm not going to stress about it. My main concern is making sure that my baby gets the nutrition he/she needs - whether it be from a boob or a bottle.
I completely agree with this! Except I'm not even going to try. I just don't want to breastfeed and I don't feel I have to justify the choice by saying first that "I tried..."

I give women who stand up for themselves (like you did here) a lot of credit. And this is my UO - I breastfed but I find the breastfeeding community, on the whole, particularly judgy. Breast is best? Sure if it works for you. But IMO feeding your baby is best. Healthy moms, emotionally and physically, is best.

A friend of mine shared a room with a couple that did not want to feed their baby formula. She told me that their baby would cry all the time and the mom would burst into tears because she didn't produce enough milk yet. Both kept pushing hospital staff away when they would suggest formula. After about 3 days, the nurses said they will have to report them if they don't allow the baby to have formula because it hadn't been able to get the proper nutrition for those days.
My friend doesn't know what happened after that since she had left the hospital before it was resolved but I think its downright outrageous that there are people like that. If it doesn't work, move on.. stressing will only make it worse

I BF my son for 6 weeks and hated it. Switched to formula. Pumped with DD(beacuse I didn't want to nurse and that was my compromise) did that for 3 weeks. It was a pain. Then switched to formula. I'm starting with formula day 1 for this baby. I don't like it and don't want to do it. This time around I don't care if people judge me for it. It's my decision to make and it makes me a happier momma at the end of the day.
