On the hunt for maternity jeans

Re: On the hunt for maternity jeans

  • @jstanton0822 Agreed! Motherhood longs are just longer than average. No way they are the standard 34" inseam. I'm currently making due with a pair of Old Navy maternity jean in long but I am not sure if I bought the wrong size or what as they are CONSTANTLY falling down and a smidge too short (thank God for boot season). Like, I don't even want to wear them. I am just making due with dresses/tunics and leggings/tights for the most part so far but I like your idea of sacrificing a pair of existing jeans.

  • Tall girls, have you tried the Gap? I know they're a little spendier, but the 1969 long and lean maternity jeans are a decent length. I'm only 5'7 but still too tall for regular and I could almost have a couple inches hemmed off the long inseam jeans I just got from the Gap. Motherhood's long inseam is a joke.

  • I have not tried the Gap. Tomorrow, we're going shopping, so I'll peek in and see if they have some I can try on! Thanks for the tip.

Recently, I bought a really stretchy soft material made from spandex and rayon from JoAnn's. The color wasn't ideal, but I usually wear a cami under my shirts anyway. When my jeans no longer zip (the zipper pokes me in the belly when I wear the belly band with my pants unzipped) I'll sacrifice a pair of jeans that fit me well everywhere else and use my super stretchy fabric to make a belly panel.

However, if I find a pair at the Gap that's reasonably priced. I can avoid sacrificing my good jeans.
Because EACH AND EVERY pair of nice fitting jeans is like GOLD!!!

  • I got darker designer type jeans from Motherhood with a nude belly panel. I actually really love them!
  • I found some from pinkblush! My girlfriend that is also due in March actually bought them and they didn't fit her. But they are long and pink blush has long size options. They are LONG too. I'm talking buckle longs. I now have a pair of jeans and a pair of yoga pants that I actually love. They can be on the pricey side but if you catch the sales they have like every week you'll be fine! I know it's online but their returns/exchanges are simple too. I'm happy with them. Worth checking out.

  • I use Old Navy for all my maternity needs!!! Also Vanity has long tank tops in lots of colors for like $5 a piece that I swear by for leggings or to hide the top of my jeans!
