Natural remedies to morning sickness...

Hi ladies!! I almost 7 weeks and the last few days I've been nauseated morning till night. It wasn't this bad with my other 2 kiddos. So I was wondering what tried and true natural/home remedies you have used? I want to try this route first before asking for a medication if possible. Thanks!

  • Ginger candies. Works much better than ginger ale. If you like the carbonation though, I suggest ginger beer.

The candies + sips every 15 minutes of water and eating every 2 hours helped me a lot.
  • Nothing has really worked for me but sipping soda (I like San Pellegrino limonata soda) seems to help a little bit. I also have lollipops at my desk to help at work.

  • I'm in the same boat. I'm 7 wks today and this week has been especially rough :(
My go tos right now are Sea Bands, Altoids, peppermint essential oil (just taking some good deep sniffs of it when I feel nauseous),
Ritz Crackers, sipping water instead of gulping and getting some fresh air when I've been cooped up too long I start to feel sick.
Also dairy - for whatever weird reason - a yogurt or a glass of milk seems to squash the hunger and in turn the nausea.
I also try to take a nice longwalk everyday in the evening after dinner.
  • sparkling water works well for me. Also don't go too long without eating, even if you're not hungry have some crackers or a yogurt every 2 or 3 hours.

  • I am the same as others. Eating often helps. I also have the preggo pops. When the nausea gets really bad I sip 7up which isn't the healthiest but helps the most.
  • I found a wonderful article on pinterest and I am doing what I can from its suggestions:

    Up magnesium intake
    Cod liver fish oil pills
    B12

And the most unbelievable help is raw carrots! I was shocked!

I had terrible morning sickness for about 6 months my last pregnancy and I am bound and determined not to be taken down as hard this time. It took about 3 days to see a noticeable difference but today I actually ran an errand to Target. Big victory!

Good luck and try replacing crackers with carrots some time and see if it works for you too!
  • I drink a chocolate carnation instant breakfast (powder+milk) before getting out of bed (thankful that my husband also wakes up at five so he can make it!) It has been a LIFESAVER because I barely have to taste it, and it fills me up enough to keep the sickness away.
  • Thanks ladies!! I will be giving these a try, because unfortunately the crackers and ginger ale just aren't cutting it!
  • Lots of snacking for me when my stomach is empty that is when I get sick

  • Ditto the seabands. Try ginger candies (Trader Joes carries several different kinds), peppermint tea, B6 vitamins, sour jolly ranchers, eating frequent small meals, and there are some yoga positions that help with nausea too.
