With the push present thread taking a turn for the food oriented, I thought it would be fun if we shared what meal we are all looking forward to having after the baby is born and you're back home.
With DD, it was a turkey sandwich. I'm not the greatest at following all the "do not do/do not eat" rules but I do follow the no lunch meat one. I think I had a turkey sandwich every day for a month when we got home from the hospital.
I think it will probably be the same thing with this baby.

I also remember my first postpartum beer. I didn't drink anything for about a 6 weeks after DD was born. I waited until there was a long sleeping stretch between nursings before I would. Half a beer and I stood up to get something and fell over the coffee table. Fell right over it. lol. 9 months of sobriety totally kills the alcohol tolerance.
Re: GTKY: First meal when you get home from the hospital
Pizza! I'm having plenty of it now but I'm sure I'll want it. I'm really happy that there is a deil I love near the hospital, so I'm sure someone will be sent on a food run for me after LO arrives.
I really miss drinking some nice wine at social functions but I do like not having wine with dinner all the time. I feel healthier about my diet so I'll try to stick to less alcohol.
That and some champagne. My dad and step mom are coming after the baby is born and they already said their contribution will be the bottle of champagne. Just pick the one we want and they'll bring it along. I figured it was sufficient payment to see me in my post delivery state. Lol.
Oh! And raw cookie dough! I allow myself one lick when I make cookies for my DH's lunch but I miss being able to lick the beater.

That's part of why I waited until 6 weeks or so. Even though it was only one drink, I wanted to make sure there was more than an hour or two before DD wanted to eat again. DD was a great sleeper so she was sleeping for 4-5 night time hour stretches by then.
I did party twice during the year of BF'ing (tipsy, not drunk, but enough I didn't want to BF until I had been fully sober for a couple hours). I just did the "pump and dump" thing. DD was fed a bottle during those times. It was also when she was sleeping 6-7 hours at night and was a number of months old. I wouldn't have done that when she was really little and before I had a stash of milk in the freezer.
They actually sell these little strips that will test the amount of alcohol in your BF if you are concerned.

I was always told that if you're "feeling it" then you need to pump and dump that milk, but that a glass or so was fine. Check out kellymom.com for a bunch of helpful BF information. That website saved me.
Mama to Three Girls:

and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Probably saag paneer or Thai green curry? Maybe? Hell if I know.
I am looking forward to being able to have cocktails at dinner again, though. Granted, our average check has dropped by a solid $50 since I can't drink right now, but I'd rather spend the money and have the booze.

Ah, got it. Was also thinking maybe it's like a post-marathon meal or something from all the hard work you did. Are you allowed to have non hospital food brought in? Is the hospital food usually good? My mom says she doesn't need to be in the delivery room but will be on standby to bring us things as we need, and now I'm thinking I'll need some tasty snacks brought in.
Depending on the hospital/doctor sometimes you can't eat/drink while you're laboring also. So by the time you can eat again, you're really hungry and want something good!
I'm super super picky (like, to the point where I have marked out "this is the Indian place that has good samosas, and this is the Indian place that has good saag paneer, and this is the place that has good roti canai, and DO NOT MIX THEM UP") but, fortunately, the hospital is located within a few blocks of many excellent takeout places.
