Further along than you thought?

Firstly, hello August bumpies! I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. However, when I was technically meant to be 4+2 I took a clearblue digital which said 3+. This surely means I was at least 5+?? Also all the other tests I have taken have given really dark lines like the one I've attached. I am due for blood work on Thursday, will this give an estimate for how advanced I might be? Or could it be twins? Eeeeeek!!!

The darkness of the line is directly related to the amount of dye in your test. The important part, when determining you are pregnant, is how quickly it turns (i.e., within the directed timeframe). Digital tests are not conclusive in determine your gestational age and give a number based on a wide hcg range.

Edited because I forgot a word
  • They are all instant dark lines and have been since the first one.
I have my bloods on Thursday though like I said and I have booked an early scan for the 23rd so I know for sure :)
    Thank you though xxx
  • There's a HUGE range of normal when it comes to hcg. An ultrasound is the only sure way to know how many babies are in there!

  • You might have ovulated earlier than the standard "day 14" and yes, be further along than what your EDD tells you based on LMP.
