Ours is up with lights, but no decorations. I can't bring myself to do it without my stepdaughter here and it's going to be until Wed. for that to happen.
I was too excited. DH chopped one down from our property yesterday and I got it all decorated right away lol. I paid for it last night, though. I let my two year old decorate the bottom half with ornaments I don't mind her playing with and I put all my special keep sake ones at the top. My mom used to do that and my sister and I had so much fun playing with the ornaments when we were little.
@thisusername of course I do! @camusoh2011 that's really sweet! I know she'll love that you waited!!
@Kiek beautiful!!! I'm really OCD with my tree so I think this will probably be what I end up doing when LO is old enough. Or get him his own tree to decorate!
I get a little twitchy when I see the bottom of my tree lol. Lots of ornament clusters lol. But I remind myself that we are making memories right now so I try to let it go lol
We live in a condo/townhome so trying to drag a real tree up 3 flights of stairs does not sound appealing. We went with an artificial tree as our main tree.
I just got to the last string of redone lights, open up the box of lights I bought yesterday... And they're white string, not green. There goes THAT motivation lol. Guess I'll be taking another trip to target!
It's a bad picture but we got a fake tree at Walmart for $40 and some blue and silver shatterproof ornaments, 98 cent package of icicles/tingle and some lights. I'm a dork but we are having a boy so my tree had to be blue this year.
I'm too lazy to decorate this year. Am I seriously the only one? I'm a FTM, so no little ones will be scarred from not having a Christmas tree. H hung lights on an archway in our house. That may be the full extent of the Christmas decor this year.

I was voting to skip it but DH wanted to do it and he also did the great majority of the work and now I'm happy we did

Not having kids (for the last year ever) is the whole reason why we decorated. Next year I'm not doing anything. Not going to bother fussing with the tree when my kitten will be fully grown and even more messy (she hates this tree I swear) AND we will have an infant. Plus we move March of 2017 and I like the idea of slowly packing over those few months leading up to it.
I've vacuumed up a shattered ornament every day since we put up the tree a few days ago:/ thanks to my 3 and 1 year olds. next year it will be only lights and garland!
The tree topper is left over sprigs from making my front door wreath that I just threw on there. (I can't find one that I like in any store. They all look cheap to me.)

Plastic ornaments are on sale at rite aid and at Joanne's and they look like our glass ones.
We weren't going to decorate this year (since being 8 months pregnant when it comes time to take everything down sounded awful) BUT last year we were out of town for Christmas so we didn't have a tree, and it was our first year living together. I broke down and ended up getting one. Just a small little pre-lit. A slim tree since our apartment isn't too large.
I figured it would be nice to have for next year when we are busy with baby to have an easy to assemble pre lit tree for her first Christmas!

@AlmJlcBaby1 gorgeous!! I got the 69 dollar walmartvtree but since they were out of them I got the floor model for 50. They have great deals on trees!! Though, seeing yours makes me wish I got a normal one and not the "slim tree" I just didn't want our apartment to be cluttered looking *sigh*
@thisusername my fat ass cat has already bent three boughs of the tree climbing in it. I haven't put any ornaments on it yet because I bought glass ones and the tree is on hardwood floors and the damn cats can't leave them alone.
@DrillSergeantCat thankful our main Coon is relaxed. He likes to sleep UNDER the tree and freaking Arwen is always IN it. She's only 5 pounds and bending the bars (cause it's fake, obviously) we have very few glass ones but our place is all carpet. I prefer plastic since the cats bat them around so aggressively.
H has been crazy busy at work from being understaffed, so I doubt we'll get our outside lights up, but he promised me he'd pull the tree out on one of his days off this week so it can go up before my shower. He better because I bought a pretty vintage topper this year at an antique store on Small Business Saturday so I don't have to touch the cheap POS glittery one we bought at Target years ago.
I finally wrapped just a few presents so our tree didn't look so sad/empty. Haha. Miles photobombed but I thought it was kind of cute so I didn't take another.
Michael's had a big Christmas sale so I just got new ornaments and we had to put the tree on a table because DS is 1 and would destroy the tree if it was on the floor
I just love everyones trees and decorations! Great job everyone. Ours is up with lights. It's a fake tree from Michaels and I love it. It packs away great and is the perfect size. We just have to find a minute to put ornaments on its and decorate it all pretty like all of yours.

Oh well! At least she's happy!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
Took me a day after getting tree to decorate it. Had to wait for the tree to "settle" before I could put ornaments on.
