Pretty early but thought of any names yet?

I love the name Harrison for a boy, especially since it's DH's middle name. I also like the name Hartley for a girl, but I'm not sold on it. I thought this could be a fun way to exchange ideas and maybe hear names you'd never thought of but wind up loving. Please share...

Re: Pretty early but thought of any names yet?

  • We have our boy name nailed down ,gi rl first name nailed down just working on girl middle
Boy:Jaxson Gunnar (Nelson is our last name ) we will call him Jax
our 16 mo old is a III so we are not using any family names if it's another boy

Girl : Isabelle (great grams name)
Undecided on calling her izzy or belle(a)
Middle Name options : Lynne (grams mid.name)
    Kay (other grams mid name)
We will be using atleast family first name for girl but I am not sold on any of them as middle name . the list also incl viola ,Minnie and Stella (all gramma first or middle names) then there's names I just love Madeline and Katelyn. Thoughts welcome ! Husband useless on girls name he will agree to anything because he likes the first name and the deal is /was he names boys I name girls but we each have veto power.
Sorry I wrote a book lol
  • Haha no worries - I love everything you wrote, and I always tend to write super long posts! So, I am in LOVE with how you are spelling Jaxson. That is adorable, and I love that name. My cousin named his incredible child Jackson, and I've always been a fan of it. I also love the nickname bella for Isabelle. So cute!! Oh, and love Stella! You have so many great ones to chose from!

I'm so excited about this discussion! I'll also add that I love the name Isla. I would like the first girl's middle name to be Elizabeth. It's kinda turned out to be a bit of a tradition on my mom's side of the family where the first girl's middle name is Elizabeth (beginning with the great grandmother).

  • Hi ladies . It's still really early but we all start thinking of names right away.
For girls DH and I both like Aria .I also really like Harper but DH won't agree it it .
  • ..... rest of post got cut off.
For boys we will use David for a middle name since it's a family name on DH side
I think we are both hoping for a girl
  • Not sure on a boy name. But if we have a little girl we are thinking of naming her Gracie Jean (love old school names)
  • I love the old school, more classic names that I guess would be out of style this day and time. I'm not one to fall for a popular/common/overused baby name. It bothers me when parents can't be unique individuals and break away from the trendy and hipness.

Vaida is my absolute favorite girl name. I also like Jacquelyn and Charlotte.

I have no idea what we would name a boy. The hubby would have to help make decisions in that department. I know we'd use David as a middle name (family name), but thats all we've got.
  • Still not sure...we had a few picked out with our first and ended up with Holden Joseph (which I love!) and then the girl name we had picked out I'm not in love with anymore lol...Sooooo, back to the drawing board. I love literary names though, or "older" names...

  • @sdwilliams15 Vaida is beautiful! Struck me as really pretty and unique.
  • Lol agreed-my DH likes Scandinavian names but I prefer Welsh. I've had a girls name down for years but a boys name is tricky. My DH has been reading lists of boys names to me in the car-it's so sweet I almost cry every time.

The girls name is Caer from the Welsh version of the swan princess story. Her middle name would be Verallen-a combination of my grandmothers' names Vera and Helen. I miss them a lot

  • We like Dean Wayne for a boy, and I like Jospehine Adalind (nickname Josie) for a girl. DH has not agreed to Josephine. We've also talked about Katherine, Carlie, Sadie and a few others but I really like more traditional names.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @poeface both Aria and Harper are on our list. If we have triplets with 2 girls and 1 boy, it may be Harrison, Hartley, and Harper. Our last name is Prince and I think all those would go well. My husband said he'll start actively participating in the name discussion once we find out how many on Thursday.

  • We had names picked our before we even got pregnant, lol, and they are pretty set in stone.
Girl - Josie Nicole (my late grandmother whom I adored and my sisters name)
Boy - Max Michael (Maximus seems like a very strong boys name, my husband says almost like a super hero, lol. And then my father's name)
  • We kept Bennett from when we were pregnant with DD. We added Luke and Jake to our short boy list.  Middle name will probably be Douglas or Andrew, after my DH and my Dad.  Our girl name is Lucy Sue.  Middle name is after my sister, since DD has my other sister's middle name.
  • Girls name skylynn leann or ashlynn leann. Boys name emerson matthew or blake matthew. Both girls names have DH moms, my grandmas, and my moms middle name. (Lynn,Leona,Ann) Boys middle name is DH first name.
  • I have a list of unusual names. @karaszoo1 I have Gunnar on my list for boys :). Middle names for us will be family names, but first names. I really like Nova and Aurora. Also, Everly, Quinn, and Willow are on the list. For boys, Gunnar, Sebastian, and Archer. We will see, there is still a long time to figure it out :)

  • For a boy, we've been playing around with John Anson (John is SO's name and the name of his paternal grandfather; Anson is simply the starring actor in a badass western we love) or Anson Lee (Lee is my grandmother's middle name, my late grandfather's first name, and the surname of one of my favorite historical/military personalities).

If it's a girl, I LOVE the name Caroline. SO suggested Reagan, and I've been toying with Reagan Caroline.

I'm also crazy about Clarisse (Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451) but apparently I'm alone in that. Lol
  • Girl: Ada, Ava, Vivian, Nora, Claire, Evelyn, Audrey, Rosalie, Isabel, Hannah, Adele, Charlotte, Ella, Etta, Eleanor, Helen.
    Ada is my favorite.

Boy: Miles, Spencer, Henry, Finn, Grant, Reid, Ronan, Rowan, James, Samuel.

  • I'm in love with the names Rowan, Lennox, and Lennon for a girl. We have a long list of boys names but Reece seems to be the only one that continues to make the list through both DDs.

I also LOVE the name Harrison- but DH nixed it because he doesn't like the nickname "Harry" (which I I think is crazy because he has a name that is traditionally shortened but NOBODY calls him that; maybe I should have added that to my Monday rant :)
  • A boy would be a family name, John James. But we will call him JJ. For a girl, no clue. I like Viviana but that got shot down lol.
34 Mother of 4 year old and 2 Labs. Happily Married to my Hubs of 6 years.
  • We have a few girl names that were up for grabs with #1, but boy names are so much harder!!  For girls the choices are currently Elizabeth Grace, Eliana Elizabeth or Eliana Kathryn, or Alexandra Elizabeth or Alexandra Kathryn.  My first choice is Elizabeth Grace, but DH thinks the middle name should have meaning and in that case the first name does but not the middle name - so Grace is just something I love the sound of and think is gorgeous and timeless.  Boys....that's another story, we're so up in the air on any and everything.
    DD  <3 6/15/2014
    Baby #2 due 8/11/2016

  • My son is James Jr, and we call him JJ a lot. I love it :)
  • My DH is Japanese so we decided we would like to use Japanese names.  Maybe not for a girl since I am being so picky.  We discussed names before getting married.  I work in a Children's Hospital so seeing a ton of names all day makes things much worse.  I see some pretty terrible choices for names too and you can always tell what's trending with baby names.  :)

Boy-  Ren.  We are both completely sold on this one.  It's nothing too out there but it also isn't popular.  We like it.  Middle name would be Daniel after my father who passed away 11 years ago.

Girl- Mika, Mei or Mai, and Elodie.  We're not sold on any of them.

  • Liliana Grace for a girl....clueless for a boy!
  • @ashleyluxe I love the decision to go with unpopular names, but not choosing anything that is whacky. Love Ren, and Mai is so beautiful for a girl. I believe it's also Hawaiian.

  • We are going with names that start with a z this pregnancy. We have 2 names for each gender.
    Girl: Zoey, Ziva
    Boy: Zain (or Zane), Zeke
  • @alqizwik I also loved your choices!  I love going with tradition but thinking outside of the box.  Ali and Zahraa are both traditional but unique!  Beautiful names. :)

  • @jwittwer I'm in the same boat as you I love the boy names for gold and my DH won't agree to any.
  • I have a Sarah already, kind of thinking Norah if we have another girl.  Pretty sure dh will veto that one though.

  • Girl: Emma Kathryn or Emma Kristin (Kristin is my middle name)

Boy: we have no idea but we want the middle name to be Michael (Michael is my husband's name). Top ones we have right now are Christopher Michael and Liam Michael, but still not even 100% on those.

My son's name is Andrew Edward (Edward is my husband's middle name), so we'd like something either English or Irish.

    Would love suggestions!
