To the ladies who already had their ER this month, how big were your leading follicles when they decided to trigger? As of this morning's ultrasound, I have three follicles that are at 17mm and my next appointment is Sunday. Surely I would think they will have me trigger by Sunday night and have ER on Tuesday. At least I hope! I was told that if ER is on Thursday, I would not be able to have my first beta when it would normally be scheduled (December 24th) because they would be closed for the holidays. I would have to wait an additional four days which sounds like torture. I would love to find out either way what the outcome is by Christmas just so I can process whatever news I get.
@wenikilina - Yep, I go in tomorrow and they're assuming I'll trigger tomorrow night for Monday retrieval. It's getting real!! This morning, I had six mature and 8-9 more that were 12-15mm. I can tell. My ovaries are FULL!
@sparrow004 - my lead follicles right now are in 20-20.5 (one on each ovary). I'm "probably" going to trigger tomorrow or the next day. BUT, those two grew from 16-17 two days ago, if that helps. So, a Sunday/Monday trigger doesn't seem out of the question for you. We'll be on very similar schedules!

@Sparrow004 my follies were around 20/21. I hope all works out as planned for you!
Got my update and my six lil babes are still growing nicely! I transfer tomorrow 3dt, I am a little nervous because I am still really sore from ER! Are any of you that have had your ER still in pain?
I was using FET wrong, sorry guys! I knew it was either fresh or frozen and picked the wrong one. Sorry!
So my fresh ET is on Sunday, and I'm super nervous that it isn't going to work because it feels like I'm going to get my period! I'm not sure if it's still cramps from ER or if my body is naturally starting a new cycle. The only meds I'm on are progesterone supplements 3x a day, antibiotics, and one other pill (I can't recall the name but it starts with M). Has this happened to anyone else? What is really keeping my body from having a period?
Soo I had my Stimulation Day 8 Ultrasound and blood work done this AM. The ultrasound showed three follicles at 17.0mm+. I was scheduled to return tomorrow morning to be closely monitored because my doctor said they are about ready to go. This afternoon my doctor called with my blood test results and my Progesterone is high. My IVF cycle has been cancelled. We are now scheduled for IUI tomorrow. Has this happened to anyone else on here?
(3 mature follicles, high progesterone prior to ER- Cancelled and converted to IUI)

@wenikilina- Our first IVF I had about 5-6 mature follicles. I am labeled DOR, which is why we are struggling. My appointment went well today, but since I have only been doing my stims, since Monday, they said by next weeks appointments (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) they will be able to see more growth. They were happy with where the follicles were at now though. Still scheduled for a ER anywhere from the 9th-13th. Kind of cool that we are coming up on our 2 year anniversary on the 13th, and we will be doing our ER around that time.
What did they up your menopur to? Are you on Lupron? My first IVF I was not on Lupron and now they have added that. I hope your follies keep growing!!! As hard as it is try and stay positive. It only takes 1.
I wish all you ladies good luck with your process! I hope we all receive our Christmas miracle!
@wenikilina- I am so sorry that your IVF cycle was canceled. I will continue to think about you and pray that tomorrow your IUI works. Sticky vibes coming your way!!!!
@wenikilina - I'm so sorry your IVF was cancelled. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your IUI! What causes the progesterone to be high? I know it goes up after ovulation, but clearly they don't think you've already ovulated if they're going to do an IUI.

I wanted to wish @Tina430 AND @sfleiss terrific transfers this weekend! Can't remember if anyone else is transferring or retrieving this weekend. I'm sorry, @wenikilina about the cancelled ivf and hope the iui works with all the follicles you do have ready to go! @emsmama15 - Monday is just around the corner! I'm so excited for you! @takethelongway - how are your embryos doing?
I've been a bawling machine the past two days. Just think it is all the hormones. They were able to freeze 8 day 5 blastocyst and will freeze a few others hopefully over the weekend. I'm so ready for AF to visit!
Day 6 of Follistim, day 2 of Ganirelix and day 1 of Menopur. So far 12.4 on the left and 13.6mm on right. Has anyone else been super crabby after Ganirelix or is it just me?? What can I expect for Menopur? I know everyone is different but it's still nice to hear from you all
Thanks everyone for all the positive vibes thrown our way! Transfer went well. We decided right before to transfer 3(slightly freaking out!!). Of the six that were growing there were two that graded where expected and one slightly behind the two. The remaining embies were growing but the lab believes that they will not make it to blast. We decided three because of my age (I'm knocking on 40's door) and 2 of the three embies had moderate fragmentation. Officially counting down til the 18th (first beta test). @wenikilina I am so sorry to hear about outcome of this cycle but Fx as you convert to iui! @Piperella hope AF comes soon and congrats on the # of frozen. @sfleiss good luck tomorrow!
@Piperella all 14 were still growing and developing on day 2. We'll get a call Monday or Tuesday to see how many made it to freeze. I spent last night in the ER because I had extreme pain in my right ovary and the on call fertility doc said I may have an ovarian torsion so I needed to get it checked it. Turns out I have very mild OHSS, an ovarian cyst, and a UTI.

So sorry @wenikilina about your cycle- I don't know what the significance of the progesterone going up is? glad that an IUI is an option for you at least and FX!
@joyful38 the Ganirelix doesn't make me crabby except for the fact (as other women have pointed out) the dang needle is dull and I feel like I have to punch myself with it to get through my skin- that makes me crabby as I have a tiny belly that with the current 4 nightly shots is quite tender/bruised The menopur does sting more than the others for sure, I can't tell if it affects my hormones much, I have been more hormonal but this is also very emotional. I had my recheck today and have 6 mature and a bunch that need a little more time. They were hoping to get me another few days to let some more mature and my bday present came a day early because I will likely trigger tomorrow instead of today I got a bit emotional as my last IVF failed and we are really hoping for `at least a chance this time
@emsmama15 have you heard yet whether you will trigger or not tonight? our follie status sounds about the same right now

@sparrow004, my follies were at least 15 mm and they counted 13. I think they try to get as many follies within the right range, anywhere from 15-24 I'm think once they get past 24 mm they are too mature, so if you have a lot of tiny ones and only a few big, they may wait and sacrifice 2 or 3 but gain like 7 or 8 that grow to the right size.
I love that we are getting to the end stages ladies! Hope and prayers with us all!
@joyful38 - I don't know if the ganirelix really did anything to me except make me LOATHE dull, bigger needles and slower moving liquid. It was much harder to push in me. I had really bad headaches all during my stims, but it started with the follistim. The menopur does sting more like 2legbaby said above. Be sure to use ice on that one for sure!
@takethelongway - Oh my dear! I'm so sorry you had to go to the ER. I'm so very sorry your going through what you are. Is your pain being managed now? I'll be thinking about you! So glad to hear your embryos are still doing well! Fx for you!
Another silly update for me. My RE called me surprisingly tonight while I was at a craft show trying to get my mind off things. I now have 16 frozen blastocysts! Guess that's one positive thing about PCOS if you want to call it that.
@Piperella I'm still sore, but luckily have not had any pain like last night. However, I am now experiencing extreme nausea and vomitting, but it could be due to the new pain meds. 16 frozen is awesome! I'm anxiously awaiting my call on Monday (or Tuesday if we get day 6 blasts).
@joyful38 Menopur does burn. My routine was inject the Gonal-f and Ganirelix, ice because of the sting, and mix my Menopur. Then I would ice after as well.

@takethelongway - Oh I'm so sorry! I had four days of really bad nuasea. I could only deal with soup, and I am not a big soup fan. Can you do that? I liked egg drop and wonton the best. Did they give you some medicine for the nausea? I know there is a type that I was given for a previous surgery that is safe for pregnant women (so i'd be okay for us too). Seriously hoping you feel better soon.
@Tina430 - congratulations on the transfer!! We are pretty set on doing 3 as well (I'll be turning 41 right after our transfer), but if we have two perfect looking ones, would probably just do two. We shall see!
@Piperella - you've had amazing numbers! That's so great!! 16 frozen!!
@2legbaby - triggering tonight. Eek! Retrieval will be Monday morning. This morning, I had 13 mature and 13 other smaller ones. Not sure if any of those will be mature by Monday morning. I'm hoping for three to transfer and a couple to freeze. Not asking for too much! HAHA! My NP drew a nice circle on my bum for my hubby to give me my shot in about an hour. Being a nurse, it's a little difficult for me to give up the control of giving my own injections. I'm sure he'll do fine.... I hope.
@takethelongway - Geez! I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I hope you're on the mend soon!
@joyful38 - Agreed with everyone else. The needle is so darn dull!! UGH! I'm not going to miss that one. AND, as a parting gift, it gave me a HUGE bruise on my tummy last night.

I'm having light spotting. It's sort of brownish color. Today is 5dp6dt. I wonder it's implantation bleeding? I never had implantation bleeding before. Hope it's a good sign.
@2legbaby I didn't want my hubby to help me with the shots thinking he might faint during the process. Haha.
@emsmama15 I'm a nurse too! hope your trigger went well and good luck on ER!! It was weird to be on the other side for once (being a patient) during ER. I started IVs on others but I never had one myself before. CRNA started IV and it was quick and painless. He used lidocaine before inserting IV which was something new.
Good luck to you ladies who have ER or ET coming up shortly!!!
Fingers crossed for your IUI @wenikilina - hoping you have to cancel your IVF!
@2legbaby - are you triggering tonight?? Thanks for the injection tips. I'm actually going to be on endometrin post-retrieval, so no PIO shots for me!! YIPPEE! The trigger HURT! OUCH!
@luvssong012 - I hope the spotting is a good sign. Based on some other posts on this forum, it might be! I've had several chances to be on the other side (the patient), but it's always weird to me. I hope they get my IV in quickly tomorrow morning. I hate IVs.
I'm starting to get nervous. I just hope they get some. I've been really uncomfortable all day and I'm so worried I'll ovulate all these eggs before my retrieval tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes after my appointment. Thanks for the well wishes!!

Hi ladies! I've been lurking around seeing if anyone has been going through the same things as I have.
First time doing IVF, I'm 33 husband is 37. We had egg retrieval on Dec. 3rd, we had 20 eggs, the next day 10 were able to be fertilized today we got the call that we have 7 that are graded 1-2 which is good and have 7-9 cells so that's all good news! We have our transfer scheduled for day 5 which is Tuesday the 8th. During the retrieval the dr found that my left tube was filled with fluid so on Tuesday we could have either retrieval as planned OR we will stop, embryos will be frozen and we will schedule an appointment to remove both tubes We are hoping and praying the fluid is gone Does anyone have experience with any of this?
Also, I am on the progesterone in oil injections once a day in the morning, 2 pills a day and the vaginal suppositories (1 at night only) which I just started the suppositories today. The suppositories had no instructions and I looked around everywhere for anything that could tell me I'm at least doing it right. I just shoved it up there it's a little capsule with coccobutter on it, I've read that it is messy. Does anyone have experience with these? Has anyone experienced cramping from it? I hope I'm doing it right. I'm a little nervous to have one up there and then go in for transfer and have something in there does anyone know if they dissolve quickly?
Sorry for such the long post You ladies are all so supportive of each other! Thank you for creating this board We're all in this together
@emsmama15 they are letting my eggs cook one more day, I am nervous but there were a tonne more good size follies yesterday so FX ! Good luck with your retrieval!

Hello ladies! I wish you all the best of luck for those going through ER and ET.
I had an U/S and blood work this morning. She said my lining is very good and they measured two follicles on my right side at 11 and 10. I am on day 8 of stims. There are two follicles on the left, but she said they are smaller then 10, so they don't measure those until they get bigger. Doctors appointment tomorrow for another U/S and blood work with the doctor and tomorrow he will estimate which day we go in for our ER. I am more calm this time around, but getting nervous. First IVF cycle they only collected 1 egg, hoping this round we get more, but nervous because there aren't many follicles. Anyone have this?
@emsmama15 yay for your retrieval! Great numbers....waiting is the worst! So you find out how they are doing on Wed and then transfer on Friday, right?
Good luck to everyone this week! I have my fingers crossed for all of you for good numbers, healthy follicles and embryos.
I have my baseline ultrasound today. I was told my uterine lining looked good and thin (I hope things is good at the beginning ) and I start follistum 150 units tonight until Saturday morning when I go back for bloodwork. Out of curiosity, what time do you all for your evening injections?
I just want to thank you all for sharing your journey here. It helps me to see what everyone else is doing and experiencing. It helps me feel not alone, and that I'm not some kind of freak who can't get pregnant the old fashioned way. No one in my life has had to go through this, and it makes me feel alienated. Thank you all for being part of this community, even though I know we all wish we didn't have to be here.
@Piperella - planned transfer on Saturday. A day 3 would be Thursday if we have 2 or less growing on Wednesday. Hopefully that's not the case.
@kennelchick - thin is good at the start. I did my evening injections around 7pm (my Gonal-F). When I started Ganirelix and when I did my trigger shot, they told me what time to give them and they were specific (ie. 9:45pm). Good luck with your first one tonight! It's totally no big deal!!

Thanks ladies for all the support. I have another U/S today with the doctor, so we will see if any of those follicles grew. I called the nurse yesterday because I couldn't stop thinking about only have two 10 and 11 size follicles on my right and the ones on my left not being big enough to measure....kind of freaked me out. I called to see if they don't see any change and I only have two follicles growing will they cancel the IVF cycle, since my problem is having good viable eggs...She said they would cancel it, but just to an IUI.
So my question to you ladies: Do you have any good questions I could ask my doctor today as I have my appointment with him today at 4pm. One question I have is, should we possible think about an egg donor. So many emotions right now and I continue to have hope that this all works out and we get our Christmas miracle.
Thanks for all your help and I wish you all the best of luck this week with any appointments you have.
@kristylangI am sorry about not having enough follicles.. I really think there are so many factors that make IVF such a difficult journey. I think asking about donor egg is a good question, if you and your DH are okay with it. I would talk to DH first though. I really hope your follicles respond better to meds so your cycle doesn't get cancelled!!!!
@kristylang I think it is certainly not unreasonable to start talking about an egg donor *IF* this cycle fails (FX that is not the case!), you may also ask about other protocols for poor responders (they added growth hormone to my treatment protocol this time and it is supposed to help response and egg quality) and other treatments like DHEA if you are not on this already.....really hoping things look better this pm so you don't have to start making those decisions!

@2legbaby I didn't want my hubby to help me with the shots thinking he might faint during the process. Haha.
@emsmama15 I'm a nurse too!
Good luck to you ladies who have ER or ET coming up shortly!!!
During the retrieval the dr found that my left tube was filled with fluid so on Tuesday we could have either retrieval as planned OR we will stop, embryos will be frozen and we will schedule an appointment to remove both tubes
We are hoping and praying the fluid is gone
Does anyone have experience with any of this?
Thank you for creating this board
We're all in this together

Follow our journey!
Good luck everyone this week.
