This is super cute! There is actually a thread designated to gender reveals if you want to look there-- I'm not sure how far back it is at this point, but you can find it in the search bar, and I'm sure you'll receive stronger reception there!
I would rather post my pictures here, when they are taken on Sunday... The last thread we had asking about gender reveals got super heated, and I'd rather leave that buried on page deep...
Thank you! I'm 29 and a first time mom. We announced the gender at thanksgiving and the whole family voted boy, haha! Glad I have my little girl Ella ❤️
This is so cute! We were trying to incorporate Thanksgiving since that's when we were telling the family, but couldn't think of anything. Congratulations on your sweet baby girl!
That is adorable! Congratulations on your baby girl!!! We are announcing it to our family this Monday night, the same day we find out. I am getting so impatient waiting, i have a countdown! Lol i will definitely be posting the reactions/pics of our way of telling!
Dorkydo that is cute! That's funny Jammer841, that's what my family thought too! Congrats ladies! And for those still waiting, the ultra sound experience is so wonderful
Ya know it never occurred to me to take pictures lol and now I hate myself!! But we didn't do anything big anyways (I would've loved a cake or cupcakes tho). We just went to Baskin Robbins and brought home a bunch of Daquiri Ice icecream for everyone to share right after a hasty elective ultrasound at 13 weeks (DH couldn't wait and I couldn't say no), as opposed to Pink Bubblegum they're favorites in our family I know they sound questionable lol
Congrats! Gabriel is one of my super favorite boy names! The only reason we didn't use it is because the name would be pronounced differently in North America and Brazil (in Brazil, the pronunciation would be something closer to 'Gabrielle')…. But I still love it!

Me too! DH vetoed it lol, I still love it. I might push for it again haha

I think DS will probably be Gabriel. It's #2 for both DH and I and neither are big fans of the other's #1.

It's not even in my DHs top 10, but I'll work my magic lol. He's pushing for Max (Maximus actually) and I was like no way on earth. Sigh, why does it have to be so hard lol

Haha I love Max (Maxwell) but with a last name starting in Trax- it would just be mean

Because he's an assface. The Arabic pronunciation is a little too serious and he finds it lame. We won't even be living in Egypt or pronouncing it in Arabic but that is enough for him to veto the name. And he's not keen on names with religious meanings. We hate each other's names so this is gonna take some time haha
@elasticheart I had a good friend growing up that his full name was Maximus Harrison Johnson...I don't know what his parents were thinking. He grew up listening to kids call him Maximus "Hairy" Johnson. He had a good sense of humor about it, but I'm sure it got annoying for him after a while.

I love the name for its sound and looks, I don't think of the meaning. Tell him that's not a good enough reason to veto it. To be honest with you, in Catholicism there are SO many Saints that if you pick a western name, there is very likely a Saint with the same name...

You could always do something for holiday cards! We took photos after we had announced the sex of our first. This time we announced with photos.
@thaisac1@mumistheword@elasticheart13@plus15pie@mrstrax in my house, I'm the one hung up on pronunciation because most of our family will say whatever name with a Spanish intonation and some of them bother me. DH thinks I shouldn't get hung up on it, the kid is being raised in the US and for all of school and work, etc. the name will be said in English. I can't seem to let it go though. I don't need a super ethnic spanish-sounding name (believe me, our last name will leave no question he or she is Latino/a!) but I just want something that sounds good both ways. Am I being too stubborn?
Also love Gabriel but don't want too bible-y a name and actually LIKE the more Gabrielle-like sound of it in Spanish (like Portugeuse.) I also love Max but for Maximiliano, which is a mouthful and our last name isn't short (8 letters long.)
Love the thanksgiving cake idea, so cute! We did the confetti balloon at our gender reveal party and are having another girl - everyone thought we were having a boy so it was a huge surprise! I'm excited our little Zoey will have a sister - her name will be Gabrielle, Gabby for short
@fbanke42 I'm so sorry I just saw this!!! I wish I got notifications with this app. That's an awesome idea that I'm probably going to take your advice on. It's my first pregnancy and everything so it's a big deal for me emotionally I really want to remember it!!
Loving all these gender reveals!!! We had a Christmas themed gender reveal party this weekend... Everyone had to cast their vote by either wearing red or green! Here's our cake, Can't wait to meet our baby girl!!! ❤️

I know it was also because of the holiday theme, but I have to say that I just LOVE that you chose something other than pink or blue!!!!! Love it!
Our pregnancy announcement was a crudely photoshopped Microsoft paint comic strip, with Back to the Future where Marty had DS's face. So, we kept the terrible Photoshopping of 80s movies tradition alive with this Christmas-themed reveal! Haha
