My parents are G-moo and G-doo. H's parents are Babchi (I believe that is a Polish thing- pronounced bob-shee) and Grandpa. This kid will be #5 on my side and #8 on H's, so grandparent names are well-established
Both sets of grandparents are Grandpa and Grandma, but my niece and nephew are already calling my parents their mean grandpa and grandma. I find it hilarious because that is what I called my mom's parents when I was a kid. They were also the grandparents that I always wanted to spend time with growing up, so they couldn't have been that bad. They aren't mean they are just strict and don't believe in the whole spoil them rotten thing.
My parents will be Grandma and Paw. My husband's dad is undecided, and his step-mom has decided on TeTe. (That's not even the worst one.) My husband's mother has decided on Bebop (WTF), and her husband will probably just be Jay. Totally not teaching my child to call anyone TeTe or Bebop.
^^ my grandpa has been BopBop by entire life! My grandma was Nanoo. They're the best people in the world. Nothing wrong with silly grandparent names. (;
My oldest cousin couldn't say "pop" or whatever very well and BopBop is what stuck.
Both of our moms are Grandma, my dad is Granddad and my FIL is Grandpa. DD has taken to calling them Nana and Papa just because that's what she is able to pronounce right now. On my side, it doesn't matter because she's currently the one and only. On DH's side they are already established as Grandma and Grandpa, but oh well. DD will call them what she wants, and they'll just deal because they love her. Whatevs.
Lol we will have slightly different names as well My mom will be Tété and my dad will be Jedo DHs mom will either be Natu (this is what DH called his grandma because he didn't know how to say Nana or Téta, so it became a mix of the two) or Téta. DHs dad is Gedo (slight variation from Jedo due to dialect differences) and DHs stepmom will be Nana. :P
DHs mom will be Mita (mixture of mama and Tita which means aunt in Tagalog because she refuses to believe that she's getting old) and His dad will be Ampa.
I have no idea what my parents will like to be called. They're not involved in the pregnancy, so that would be a weird question to bring up to them out of the blue "hey I know we haven't really spoken in 5 months but when my baby, the one you're not happy about, gets here, what do you want him to call you?"
I will probably just wait when they meet him and see what they decide to call themselves.
My parents wanted to be called Grandma and Grandpa, but DD started calling them Mima and Pipa. My FIL is Pipa Fred and SMIL is Grammy Jane. My MIL is Nana.

We also have a Jiddo (different spelling but assuming same pronunciation - jid-do) - and his counterpart is Nana as well! LOL

Other side is Gramma Lo and Papa John
I've never had to spell it before but I think it's the same haha! Jiddo does seem like a better way of spelling it lol.
My mom is Grandma, dad is Grandpa, stepdad is Papa Keith. FIL is Grandpap, MIL is Grandma also. We just add first names when referring to the Grandmas.
My parents with will Grandma and Papa; My MIL and SFIL will be Nana and Grampy; and my FIL and SMIL will be Moshom and Mémé! My paternal grandmother will be call G.G. Or Gigi for great grandmother.
My parents will be Nana and Pop Pop. My FIL will be Grandaddy and my MIL will be Nanny. (I don't like Nanny but this name is already with established with the other grandkids.)
Haven't thought of names for the LO's great-grands other than "Granny (name)" and "Grandpa (name)."
My mom and stepdad are Grandma Lala (she's been Aunt Lala to my cousins forever so it just switched over) and Grandpa D. My dad and stepmom are Oma and Opa (German). My MIL and FIL are Mamaw and Papaw because that's what my nephew (first grandbaby on that side) could pronounce and it just stuck.
My parents are generally Gram and Papa, or Crumpa, which is how my first kid pronounced grandpa. My eldest has a Grandma (first name), which she hates, but my kid wouldn't drop the first name. The grandparents on dh's side are pretty much all Grandma/Grandpa (first name)- his mom and her husband, his mom's parents- but his dad is known to our kids as Top Thom. My grandparents are Great and Super (my niece came up with that one, and I think it's hilarious).
Bebop reminds me of these Boobah things. They were like Telletubbies on crack a few years ago.
@yodiggity My husband used to be a HUGE Ninja Turtles fan, and apparently Bebop was one of the villains in the cartoon. He sent it to his mother after she told us about her choice, and she thought it was hilarious. It might be semi-acceptable if her name was anything remotely close, but it's Martha. This is Bebop:
I think both sets are going to be plain old grandma and grandpa. It's already been established for my parents with my brother's kids and my IL live far away so it's not like everyone will ever be all together. Once DD1 talks more/better, she may end up calling them something else that may stick. No one has demanded to be called something in particular so I'm pretty unconcerned about it
my parents wanted to be Grandma and Grandpa. She started calling them MiMi and Papa when she was about 2, but Papa has changed to Poppy. Mother in law wanted to be Nana and that has stuck. Grandpa on that side started off being called Grandpa Pete while I was pregnant and then when she was trying to start calling them by name that was too hard, so we shortened it to GP and now Jeep
In Brasil there is only one option: vovô and vovó (also abbreviated as vô and vó for grandpa and grandma, respectively). Here in Canada my husband's parents already have several grandchildren and they call them Nanny and Grampy. I think it's adorable.
Re: Grandparents
It's a boy! Grow baby, grow! EDD: 4/22/2016

My dad wants to be called Buddy. (Awww!) My mom will also wait to be named...first grand baby in the family, haha!
