Went to the doctor today, he said at 16 weeks I am still 4 weeks away from feeling movement. Sad day
That's funny, at 15 weeks my doc said I could expect to feel very small movements in the coming week or so and described it like a popping, tapping or a twitch very low. She said I would know it wasn't gas. She mentioned that FTMs can feel it but not everyone does. I guess different docs have different opinions.
I really hope he is wrong, I keep looking for something but I'm never really quite sure. Probably because I'm FTM and it's hard to tell. I just can't wait for some real movement in there!
I'm 17w and have felt light popcorn-popping every now and then, but nothing I can say with certainty "yup that was definitely baby!" My doctor expects me to feel it later because I began the pregnancy already on the chubbier side, and all my weight is in my tummy.
A couple of days ago, I was having pretty bad cramps so I pushed down on my tummy trying to relieve the cramps with some pressure, and I'm pretty sure that Kermit (the baby) punched back at me.
It was a real "holy crap" moment but I laughed pretty hard once I decided that's what it was. Kermit definitely doesn't like being pushed -- it punched back at the ultrasound tech for pushing it too hard with the wand during our NT scan, too. Seeing that on the screen was hilarious, and I guess now, a few weeks later, it's big enough that I can actually feel it when it does that, at least if I'm pushing down at the time.

Lol! Cute! I love those moments. It's really funny once baby gets bigger, when you can see it also. DH used to crack up when I was pregnant with DS because for a few weeks, DS got in the habit of laying diagonally and pushing his feet out to my right side. It would make my bump look all misshapen (and felt uncomfortable) and he'd push back if I tried to coax his legs more towards the center.
I'm 14 weeks with baby 2 and just felt movement. I'm really excited because with baby 1 it was well past 24 weeks before I felt anything. It's kind of cool knowing the difference between gas and cupcake rolling around down there now.
You will just know. What you're feeling now is probably the real thing but the baby is so small that the little kicks aren't very strong. Once the baby gets a little bigger and stronger, it'll be the same movement but way more obvious that its not just in your head. enjoy it girl!
I felt flutters a few weeks ago and last night I felt the baby hitting my hand a few times! Very exciting and I feel it is a lot earlier then the first two pregnancies
my uterus looks so big in my ultrasound photos!! Like my baby is living in a freaking mansion! haha Im a FTM too....so not sure I will feel anything for a good while!

Hmmm don't let that discourage you-- I'm 16 weeks and started feeling movement at 13 weeks. It was very very faint and sporadic at first but as of this week I can feel really obvious movements all the time- especially when sitting. I haven't felt full on kicks yet but the movements (quickening) are definitely there

That's awesome!! I think maybe I just need it to hit me vs small movements to really know. Or else, I just think it's gas or digestion lol
I'm a FTM too- will be 18 weeks tomorrow and I haven't felt anything yet- at least I don't think I have! My stomach has always been a wreck so it might be hard for me to differentiate lol
My nurse asked me this week (at 16 weeks) if I was feeling good movement. I honestly hadn't been monitoring. But on Friday, while laying down, I put my hand on my belly and felt some "rolling" and a jab. I haven't felt it since, but I was pretty excited.
I work for corporate Jcrew, so had to click on your link. Totally expected a review of the clothes in the store! Nice name play
Thanks! I love Jcrew and my friend started calling us the J Crew and it stuck. I remember when J crew came out with their wedding dress line and I fell in love! Definitely my style. How cool that you work for them!
I'm 17w tomorrow, and all yesterday afternoon and surprisingly often today considering I've been so busy, I've felt what to me is best described as a vibration (like if your phone is next to you on the couch or bed, but not touching you?) reeeeeeally low and center in my abdomen. I can't imagine it's gas or stomach grumbling a due to the location, but it's definitely not what I expected for baby movement. It's also way more frequent than I understood to be the case for this early and a FTM. I'm small-ish but not super super skinny, so I don't know.
I look online and everything I find is forums. "Definitely the baby!" and "Nope, blood flow/round ligament/mystery sensation but definitely not the baby" pretty much sums up the responses. And of course, I just had my appointment, so I have another 3 weeks before I can ask the doctor. I don't want to assume, but I'd sure like to know what it is if it's not the baby...
For the last week I have been feeling what I explain is like tiny little muscle twitch, sometimes a bunch and sometimes only one or two . Past few days being several times a day to the point now I know it's not gas 18 weeks today
What does it mean if you eat a massive amount of cheese and then immediately feel your first flutter?
It means baby hates cheese or you have eaten so much cheese that you system has ground to a halt and you won't poop for a week. I have been known to be wrong though....
I felt flutters around 11 weeks! Crazy that it was so early, but true! I'm having twins and this is my 3rd pregnancy. Now at 16 weeks they're getting stronger. I mostly notice them when I lay down to go to sleep. I can't wait for my kids to feel the kicks someday.
I think I felt something today. I was sitting at work and I felt like I had my cell phone on vibrate on my lap. I shifted in my chair, and it happened again. I thought maybe i was pinching a nerve or artery. So I got up and walked around and it happened again. I grabbed my belly to feel it on my hands. A coworker saw me freeze and grab my belly. I think I scared her, like something happened to me. I went, oh my gosh, I think it's moving! I'm 16w4d

When I was getting up this morning, before I got out of bed, I had a similar feeling but more in my pelvis area. Now you have my wondering if that was baby??
I'm a FTM and think I felt the baby last night for the first time. I was laying in bed super still when all of a sudden it felt someone doing the worm in my stomach. It was quick but definitive and not something I had ever felt before.
I am 17w3d... I have been feeling little thumps a couple times of day... I feel them when I am laying down and when DH talks to the baby. I can't want to feel the baby really move.
I wouldn't call them flutters so much as ripples. I was expecting to feel like a little swimmer treading water in there but it's more like someone doing a quick twerk.
I was sitting tonight with my legs pulled up to my stomach/chest and I started to feel flutters which has been pretty common in the last two weeks. Then all of a sudden I felt what I would like to call a bunny sized karate chop. It was forceful and sudden. I thought "wow that was a new feeling" then it happened again! I can't wait for MH to start to be able to feel the movements!
I think I started feeling movements yesterday! I'm 15 weeks today. It was a weird vibration feeling...it could have just been gas, but I wasn't really feeling gassy. But it was happening pretty regularly for about 4 hours and I haven't felt it since.
I have been feeling flutters for a long time but have definitely been feeling full blown kicks this last week... The are sometimes strong enough I can feel if I have my hand on my belly and are sometimes kind of startling! Like a big POKE from the inside. I also felt baby roll the other day... Weirdest feeling ever... It makes me so happy to feel them! Can't wait for all you other ladies to feel them too!
I started to feel little thumps when I was a 16wks. They weren't regular, but now at 18wks I starting to feel them more often. This is baby #1.
Yesterday at church I didn't feel the baby durning worship and I sat down to listen to the sermon. That is when the baby decided to start doing "somersaults".
And anytime the DH starts to talk the baby will do little movements, he doesn't even have to be talking to the baby directly just has to be sitting next to me and we are talking about other stuff.
I'm putting this here instead of the board for crazy people cuz it fits both: Yesterday at church a woman asked if I was feeling anything yet and I said "oh yeah they move a lot, usually they wake up with me and they roll at least once a day". The lady then proceeded to tell me how grossed out she was when her baby (who was actually a third grader standing right there) would move and how disgusting it is that you can feel it and didn't I find it so creepy and nasty? I just looked at her and said "uh...no...I actually think it's pretty fun to get to feel what they're up to all day"
Guys, its driving me nuts not knowing if the things I am feeling are movement or just ute stretching/growing.
Last night in the span of an hour or so I felt three very distinct feelings, very low and center. Kinda a flutter feeling, but not sure if I am just imaging it or not.
I really just want this kid to kick me hard so I know its him!
Lately I've been getting some combination movements, like I'll feel a flutter/rolling feeling, then a pressing feeling in a certain spot. I think this LO must be trying to stretch out like DS did often.
Drinking a Pepsi (my headache needed it..) and leaning forward on my desk and feeling flutters. Low and to the left and not constant or consistent, so I'm assuming it's LO.Heard her heartbeat last night and kept the Doppler still then it went away, so I know she's squirming away!
I'll be 17 wks Wednesday and have been feeling a ton of movement for about a week... I wasn't sure at the beginning of 15 weeks but this week has been a sure thing.
