Let's Talk Boobs

Re: Let's Talk Boobs

  • @Lusitano8 Glad you're enjoying it! I think the only time I ever would have enjoyed these would be middle school/high school... now I'm just not into extra mass on my chest. But now that I think about it, it would probably look kind of weird to have my little tiny As with a giant baby belly, so I am grateful that I'll be a little more balanced!

My boobs are bigger for sure but haven't had to buy new yet since I'm in a bikini 90% of the time and trying not to wear a bra the other 10%.

TMI alert- just wondering if anyone else has experienced this because it is super weird to me- when I take my bikini off at the end of the day my nips sort of stick to the inside and with my darker bikinis I am left with a very clear white "reflection" of my nipples on the fabric. My doc waved it off as a just another weird pregnancy thing but seems so strange that I lose a layer of nip everytime I wear a bikini.

I'm almost looking forward to finishing my water work in 2.5 weeks so I don't have my bikini tops looking back at me at the end of the day!

Possibly TMI here too...Is it definitely skin, or could it be that you're leaking a bit of colostrum? If it's sort of clearish/flaky, sometimes a bit sticky if fresh, it may be that you're leaking a little which is perfectly normal at this stage. If it's actually skin, maybe try to wear some sort of breast pad (they make waterproof ones) to give your nips a little extra protection. I suppose though that if your doctor understands the issue and isn't concerned, there's probably no reason to be concerned unless it's causing discomfort.

Hmmm maybe I am leaking except it only happens when I've been in the water. It's white and kinda pastey/gluey. Thankfully it doesn't hurt at all when I peel them out of the bikini or afterwards.
  • 32A here, still a 32A. There might be some very minor swelling (and I do notice that they seem... well, "harder," I guess? more inflated? the texture is different, anyway) but it's not much at all, maybe half a cup size at the most.

tbh it's kind of a relief. I went through adolescence feeling bad about having tiny boobs, but in my 20s and early 30s I was like "wait, no, this is actually awesome," and now I don't want to give it up. So I'm hoping things just hold steady as they are, because that would be great.

Anyway, I just wanted to post so that anybody who isn't experiencing much of a change doesn't feel like they're weird. :)

34D to start - if they've grown, it hasn't been by much.  BUT HOLY OW THEY ARE SORE.  Like sometimes just walking at a fast pace they feel sore.  And of course I have a 20 lb cat who likes to lay right up by my face which also involves walking all over my chest in the process.

  • So far I've gone from a 36C to a 34DD and I can already tell these bras are pretty snug. Mine have also gotten a lot fuller. My main annoyance though is they are so freaking heavy! I swear the first 5 pounds I gained was all in my boobs. Probably even more then that now.

I'm so worried because I'm a small person but my mom is built like a viking woman (we look nothing alike) and has huge boobs.
  • My boobs haven't grown still an A! Ughhh
  • I just have to say that my boobs dont fit in my bralettes anymore to the point where I get BO between my boobs because they are so smashed together. Its like my cleavage are armpits now, WTF!!! Time to get some new bras.

I was a small B (32 B ) before pregnancy. I'm wearing a 34 B now, with my boobs pretty much popping out. Also, my bra feels super tight at the end of the day. I'm really considering buying a maternity bra soon so I can be more comfortable, as I'm sure they're only going to get bigger. I HATE wearing bras these days.

Edit: Also, being small boobed my whole life, this whole "boobs actually touching my rib cage beneath them" is a feeling I really don't like. It feels weird! My boobs keep getting stuck to me lol. Never thought I would say it, but I liked my regular boobs better, even though they weren't much to look at haha.

  • I'll throw out a rec for Coobie Bras for the (still) relatively small-busted. They're very comfortable, the padding is gentle and provides insulation vs. chafing for sensitive nipples, they're inexpensive (you can usually pick them up for < $20 on Amazon), and they're very flexible size-wise so there's no constriction as long as you're still within the fairly generous parameters of what they can hold.

The down side is that they are NOT sports bras (so no compression support) and there's no wire (so no structural support) and therefore they aren't going to help anyone who's got a lot of weight to carry. But if you do not need your bra to offer a lot of support, they're super comfortable. I've barely been wearing anything else since about 12 weeks in.

  • I was a 36C before kids, went up to a D cup with DS. When my milk came in I shot up to a 36F. After weaning I went back down to a full B/small C cup. Already with this pregnancy I've moved up to a D cup and now I'm overflowing it. My boobs are growing so much more than they did with my last pregnancy. I'm terrified of when my milk comes in. What do you even do with boobs that big????

  • @Luxani I know what you mean about the touching feeling-- it took me a really long time to get used to that during/after my first pregnancy.

Try being a G/H currently and not overweight (see my previous post). I can't even find nursing bras in my size and I'm terrified of my milk coming in!
  • When i got pregnant with my son (he is almost 8) i was a B. By the endnof the pregnancy i was a DD. After i lost the baby weight and went to an A! So hard to find nice 36A bras. Well i had a couple Bs at home still and had moved ti those. Black friday i went to victorias secret cause i was falling out thinking i needed a C. Nope im already up to a 36D and am only 16 weeks.
  • I have refused to buy new bras, until now. I was a 36C. I know I am A LOT bigger than that now. There are parts getting pinched, parts spilling over, not getting covered, and my cleavage looks like a butt crack. I think it is like a heat rash in there. Everything is way too squished. I think I know what I'm doing on my day off tomorrow.
This is my first baby and as my sisters put it when I asked them, their boobs live independent lives from eachother. (They went from nothing to ALMOST a B cup during their pregnancies. I apparently got the boob gene! So, I'm all alone. 4 sisters and no help in this dept.
  • My boobs haven't gotten much bigger, just a little bit, but I feel like my aeriolas are huge! ugh.  I'm guessing they won't go back to normal either.  I'm a FTM - any second time moms experience this?  I'm also not sure what size bras to get for after delivery, since they will surely grow then.
  • Gone from a small B cup to a slightly bigger B cup.

But (sorry if TMI) my nipples have turned from pink to brown and have decided to expand to take up most of my breasts. So my breasts are essentially the same size they always were, but they look completely different.
  • Umm, do I have to be concerned when nothing really changed?! I noticed the first couple of weeks that my boobs started to look fuller. I was actually looking forward to get a bigger cup size! But not enough to change bra size... I wonder if this will have impact on breastfeeding. I really hope it works, but when I look at my boobs, I don't know, they look too small to feed a baby. Not even talking about the fact that one is smaller than the other....

I don't think you have to worry if nothing has happened yet. Lots of Pp's have talked about how they didn't produce or have any changes until their baby came.

I actually asked my doctor about that, and she said there's no correlation between boob growth and milk production.  *And* she said that it's often easier to position a baby if you have smaller breasts, so breastfeeding is actually easier for smaller-chested women. She also mentioned that a lot of new moms are afraid of suffocating baby with boobage while nursing, and it is something you have to watch out for, but again, not an issue if you're small-breasted.

So, not only is it nothing to worry about, it's also something to be happy about:)
  • The last time I commented on this thread I was a DD, now I'm an F. Not looking forward to the inevitable deflation after BFing is over...
