I'm waiting for my first ultrasound and literally -- okay, figuratively -- dying! This is my second pregnancy. My first resulted in 6yo DS. This time around, getting pregnant was difficult. We had to seek out fertility treatments. Finally, BFP. Probably because getting pregnant was such a task, I am like CERTAIN that it's not going to end well. I have my first ultrasound on Friday -- will be 7w 2d. I'm just so so so nervous that it won't turn out positively -- even though I have no reason to believe that this will be the case. CANNOT wait until Friday. The suspense is too much for this second-time mom-to-be.

I'm currently 6W2D with baby #1 and I'll have my first ultrasound in just under 2 weeks (13 days to be exact)--not that I'm counting ;-)

I have started experiencing more symptoms the last couple days (nausea, heightened sensitivity to smells, aversions to things I usually like, etc.) so that's helping it seem more "real." I'm still not sure, though, that I'll fully believe that I'm really pregnant until the ultrasound!

I totally feel you ... I'm paranoid. With my DD I had ovarian cysts and was getting ultrasounds nearly weekly the first trimester starting at 5wks, so waiting until week 8 has been traumatic and nerve wracking. My u/s is on Monday... I'm literally counting the minutes and holding my breath.

I don't know when they're going to schedule my first ultrasound but I can't wait. My first prenatal is next week at 7 weeks and I know I won't be able to to hear a heartbeat yet. I just want to know everything's okay but will have to keep waiting. So I feel you.

My first u/s is next Thursday, I'll be 8w 6d. DH wants to confirm that it's just one baby there lol (we already have 1 child) - he's concerned that it's twins because I've had a lot of symptoms very early this pregnancy. Of course I am looking forward to the u/s, but I really want to ask my midwife for meds for morning sickness (everything they have suggested has not worked, and I feel awful).

Just one more day. Finally! When I originally scheduled, I scheduled for Wednesday of this week, but had to move it because DH couldn't come. When I got home from work yesterday he told me that had called him from the fertility doctor and said we were supposed to be there for our ultrasound. He told them we had moved it. When he told me, it made my grumpier than it should -- thanks pregnancy. Stupid work schedules that make you wait 2 more days

FTM here, I'm 8 weeks and a day and my US app (and first in general) is on the 15th... The wait is he worst! I'm so worried about everything being ok. By then I will be almost 10 weeks, hoping time passes fast!

I am 6w 4d my appointment is tomorrow. I have been freaking out for a while now. This is be my third hoping for a girl. Also, it could be twins too.

I'm at 9 today and first app is 17th! I don't even think they're doing an ultrasound until mid second trimester. @heade I feel your pain, I'll be at 11 weeks!

@RideNRunMomma - You probably won't have to wait that long, unless you request that they do... They usually do an anatomy scan at right around 12 weeks.

I just went in today at 6 weeks 2 days post miscarriage - didn't wait a cycle and got pregnant quickly after. This put me at 5 weeks 2 days and there was a sac! No heartbeat just yet, but the tech is optimistic that it will be viable. I see the OB tuesday and I hope this baby will have a strong heartbeat..

Still going crazy!

@orangecrayon - I'm right with you! This will be my first since BFP (had bunches before for follicle checks). I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that there is a strong little heartbeat tomorrow -- 23.5 hrs left

I go on Tuesday, and that'll put me right at 7 weeks. Since I was cramping and spotting yesterday, I am super on edge! I don't think I'll relax until then, when someone tells me--and shows me!--that everything is okay.

I won't be having one until 18-22 weeks. I feel like I'm the only one (besides you)!

I go Monday at 7wk 5 days and the wait has felt like an eternity! I hope they do an U/S but my question is....if they do, will it put my mind at ease? I am a ball of nerves. Assuming the U/S can only help since up to now all my "evidence" is one pregnancy test.

@joleri23 I go for an appt with midwife on 12/10 (9 weeks) before I find out when I'll get one. Hmph. I'm so impatient. I want a golden goose, daddy!!!!

Finally! The big day. Was SOOO nervous. We used Clomid to get preg, so the chances of multiples was quite real. Looks like one little baby. I do have two gestational sacs, but one is empty. The other has a baby measuring 6.6 weeks with a good heartbeat, per doctor. (should be 7 weeks 2 days by may calculations, so close.) Go back in a week and a half to see if the other gestational sack has reabsorbed. Doctor said there is a chance something would develop on that sac, but it's REALLY improbable.

I'll probably be the last to see my baby. I'm going to my first appt on Tuesday, but I've already been told I will only have one U/S at 20 weeks. It's bc I'm going the midwife route this time and they only do additional if there's an issue. I don't know if I'll last that long!

I see like 3 people who are going to have the first ultrasound as late/ later than me. With DS, I had my first US at 7 weeks. This time, the first one is 10-12 weeks. I'm dying. Luckily, it's on Wednesday right on 10 weeks (because we leave for Christmas on the 15th). I'm really just waiting on this to publicly announce. I'm done waiting.

I don't have my first appointment until Dec. 18 b/c I needed a later appointment with work. The wait is awful! I'll be 8 weeks 6 days by then.

I had my first appointment at 8 weeks with the nurse and will see the doctor at 10 weeks. It didn't sound like they were doing a scan then either. When is the first scan "normally" done? I'm 38 and this is our first baby. I really would like to see that everything is ok!

Just about 2.5 hours till my ultrasound. I'm excited but I get a pang of anxiety because I'm scared it won't have a heartbeat or stopped growing or never was there...ugh. I'm 8 weeks 2 days. FX I'm just crazy and everything's fine.

@natalievs1 it depends on where you live. In Illinois, it seems women have ultrasounds much sooner in their pregnancies than here in Oklahoma. If you're not in the United States, it could be different too.

First ultrasound for us is at 10w5d this Wednesday! I've been going crazy waiting. Also I changed my opinion on dopplers. Ours showed up yesterday and we found the heartbeat (after about 15 minutes of searching and poking and proding) and its calmed my nerves so much! I feel certain the ultrasound is going to be all smiles and fun pictures now! We decided to record the heartbeat and not look for it anymore until after and only once every 2-4 weeks, but we're listening to the recording all the time. It's so reassuring! Mine is 60-70 bpm and baby is the obvious 150-160 bpm

@TattoosandLace Thanks for responding! I live in Pennsylvania and desperately want to see my baby! The nurse said, "gone are the days when we can order scans whenever we want." Oh well! Happy Sunday!
