Afraid 6 week check

I'm so afraid of my 6 week check next week. I've heard they use the speculum and I'm so afraid it will hurt. How was everyone's experiences w their 6 week check?

    Mine didn't use the speculum but the minimal internal exam was not comfortable but luckily it was quick!

    Mine didn't use it either. I agree it didn't feel great but I'd put the discomfort just a little bit stronger than a pap (which my doctor put off until next year since my last was within 3 years. Others might be different). As pp said its very quick at least.

    Mine used the speculum for the internal to look at cervix. Wasn't uncomfortable but I also had a c section. The most uncomfortable was when she had her fingers on my cervix and pushed on my uterus.

    I find it so odd that there isn't really a consistent follow up appt. Mine didn't check anything down there. She said didn't need to b/c I "didn't go that way" (I had a c). With my first I swear she still at least checked my cervix and pushed around on my stomach. I'm pretty sure she was running late and just didn't want to do it which is a little crazy.

    Mine used the speculum but it hurt less than I expected.  It was very quick.

    Mine didn't use the speculum. She did an internal exam to check my cervix, uterus, and ovaries. I don't think internal exams are ever comfortable, but it didn't hurt at all. She also checked how my tears/stitching had healed. Nothing to be afraid of. If it hurts, let your doc know so they can be more gentle.

    My Dr used the speculum and also felt my cervix. It was a lot less uncomfortable than when I was pregnant and had cervical checks. I had a vaginal delivery with a 2nd degree tear.
