Being induced at 37 weeks

Since I was 32 weeks I've had low fluids. It dropped to 4.7, I was hospitalized and then put on bed rest. Since then I've been able to keep it around 8. Until now, it's dropped back to 5.3 at my appointment yesterday. My doctor has decided to induce me next Tuesday at 37 weeks! This is very exciting but I'm also kind of freaking out, I don't know what to expect. Anyone else been or being induced early? What is the process of induction?

I'm actually at the hospital as I'm writing this having started the process of being induced.
I've had a first lot of Prostln gel done (which opens the cervix), I'm expecting a second dose shortly - it's 6hrs between each dose. Then around 8am my dr will come and break my waters and put me on a IV drip of syntosin (synthetic form of oxytocin) to bring on labour...
I'll note that I'm in Australia so I don't know if the medications are called something different if your in the US but that's basically the process I've been told will take place (and that I've started to go through)!
Wishing you all the very best with your induction! I completely understand your nervousness, I've felt (and still do) feel the same! But just take it one step at a time! Best wishes for a smooth and safe delivery!
