So my LO is 10.5 weeks and out of the 2nd leap (thank goodness!). The app talks about discovering hands and people have been talking about their LO putting hands in mouth, batting at things, etc. my LO has not noticed her hands, isn't self soothing with them, doesn't bat at toys. I have notice she practices kicking her legs especially when there is a toy, hand etc. to kick. I'm a ftm and it's making me a little nervous that she's not on track.
ETA: she does okay with tummy time, but she also does not roll over and does not even seem close to being able to.
Re: Developing..."normally"?
As far as other milestones, he seems right on track. He sucks on his hands all the time, unless he has his paci. But if it falls out he cries for a minute until he remembers he can just suck on his hands instead. Just remember that every baby is different and some take longer for certain milestones, not all! Sounds like your LO is hitting some of the other ones so I wouldn't worry too much (:
Some women are just in a rush to let everyone know their LO is rolling or cooing or this and that and it makes you look at your own child like "is mine broken?".... They aren't!
Every single child develops at their own pace! And where little tommy might be finding his hands this week, your bub might be spending more time remembering the intricate details of your face, and next week is time for hands!
Just relax! They will get there! Don't rush them, trust me! Enjoy the milestones with your child when they get there and don't worry about anyone else's! Xoxoxo
