Yep, I can barely get an ounce when I pump. Like @henrytviii said, the pump just doesn't stimulate a let down anymore. LO is still getting enough milk. I tried lactation cookies about two months ago and didn't notice a difference. Honestly, I hate the pump so this is a good reason to avoid it.
Oh wow I'm soo glad I'm not alone in this! I barely pump 10oz a day too but when LO is feeding I have multiple let downs. I just ordered some Mrs patels chai tea and munch crunch that's supposed to increase supply I'll let ya'll know how it works
I actually let down faster with the pump than feeding. I only breastfeed her a few times a week now so my body is just used to the pump. It's definitely just her mouth anatomy.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
In the spirit of thanksgiving, i just want to say that I'm so thankful for this board and all you j15 mommies. My boobs are also not responding to my pump the same and it really varies how much I get out. Thankfully I can usually still get at least just enough for her bottles the next day (12 oz total). I also find that I have to massage my boobs and do compressions during pumping to actually maximize the milk coming out otherwise it will pump but nothing comes out but if I squeeze it flows well.
My ped also said that some people see a dip in supply as the little ones approach 5 or 6 months. Mine just fluctuates, for a few days it seems like it's tanking then she'll up her feedings and all of a sudden I'm engorged.
My lo will reach for our cups and put it to her mouth. We gave her some sweet potatoes at thanksgiving dinner and she gagged at the taste, it was hysterical. She also just mostly pushed thefood out of her mouth, so well try again in a week or so. She's 6 months on the 12.
I also nurse her to sleep every night, some times she's totally out and sometimes she's drowsy but awake. I don't feel bad about it. I love that special time with just the two of us.
(I know I haven't posted in a while, life has been speeding by, I've been trying to keep up with reading at least)
I am really hoping I don't have to dip into my freezer stash for tomorrow's bottles. I'm really close, but still short. I'll wait until morning and hope I get enough from this last pump.

LO bit me with his razor sharp little teeth, after he was finished nursing tonight. Did NOT feel good. I ended the nursing session, but he was done anyway and didn't notice why. I really hope this isn't a sign of what's to come.
Ouch on no I hurt just reading that. I've been preparing for this when the time comes and read that there are a few helpful things to do;
-firmly say no so that you get their attention and -(though it seems counterintuitive) instead of pulling away push your boob in further it will be a little unpleasant for LO and they supposedly take note and go hmmm I don't like that.
@Sammy K hopefully you get enough from your morning pump! I could pump nothing a few weeks ago, but now I'm able to pump again so hopefully this is just a quick dip in supply for you too, and it will go back up soon!
Hopefully it's not a continuing thing, as I sit he nursing, mine is trying to sick her thumb while eating. Not the first time. Mine went through a few days of biting, used the tricks mentioned, then starter anticipating it and I would pull her off before she could bite. That seemed to work.
Well, I didn't have to dip into the freezer. I'm on day 3 of lactation smoothies for breakfast, I've stopped using the hands-free bra and pumping more frequently. I'm still baffled. I had no supply issues with DS once we made it through the first few growth spurts. Now, it's really uncomfortable to pump and I know all this stress is working against me, too.
DS was a biter and after the third time he drew blood, I went to exclusively pumping (he had all 4 front teeth by 6 months). Nursing caused too much stress. None of the above suggestions deterred him. I hope none of you go through that.
Why is breastfeeding a baby so Goddamn complicated?

Thank God I had an oversupply early.

I hope it's a one time thing!

@christinabrtn You weren't commenting on my issues, but thank you for the gravity recommendation.
So far, today has been better. I have pumped 24 oz so far. Need another 8 to break even on the day. Fingers crossed...
