What name have you settled on?

Re: What name have you settled on?

  • Masie Anne...I originally liked Maisie and SO liked Macey so we combined the two and will pronounce like Macey.  Anne because it is mine, my mom's, his mom's and sister's middle names.  We kind of had to ;)

  • We are team Green and my husband likes the name Elliott for a boy. I liked it too and I thought.... It's actually a super cute girls name. I've always liked girls names that can also be boys names. So...

Elliott Jeffrey (my husband's middle name is his fathers name...and so on)

Elliott Ann after my best friend and my Nana.

If it's a girl I also may call her Ellie sometimes but I truly love the name Elliott for a girl.
  • @teachmegs817 I love Griffin! It was one of my top choices (for girl or boy).

We are naming our little girl Aurora. Rory for short/nickname. I love the northern lights and being outdoors so it seemed fitting, although there's not a specific story behind it!

My DD's name is Aurora. Most people call her Rory as well. We get lots of compliments on her name! Be prepared, everyone thinks you named her after Sleeping Beauty. We liked that the name means goddess of the dawn and she was born minutes after the sunrise, so it fits perfect... But people still mention the Disney princess a lot and she owns a lot of Sleeping Beauty stuff as a result. Totally worth it though :)
  • @ahaleyq and @alandaim - LOVE the name Aurora and the nickname Rory!  I so wish I could have convinced my husband to have it on our short list, but for whatever reason he was anti.  Sigh.  Such a lovely name and adorable nickname.
  • We are naming him Chase Michael. Chase is just a name we both like and it sounds great with out hard-to-flow with last name. Michael is my husband's name and when he suggested it for a middle name I just couldn't say no.
  • We have decided on Nathan Paul. Nathan was our boys name when we were having our DD (Sophie Jean) and the only name he would consider for this baby. Paul is hubby's middle name and FIL's first name. I really wanted either Benjamin or Griffin but hubs wasn't budging.
  • Malaysia Alexandria. My first name is a country and my middle name is Alexandria so I passed it down to her. I love the name.
  • Evangelina Grace- after both of our grandmothers.  I feel like the nickname possibilities are endless! For now, we call her Lina.

We are keeping our son's name a secret until he's here. It's driving our friends and family crazy but we're having fun. We're naming him Jordan Charles, with Jordy as the nn.
Jordan is a name that we both love and is the name of a really good friend of mine that I have known since I was 3, he's a high ranking officer in the military and someone I've always admired. We are also huge fans of Jordy Nelson (we went to college with him) so it fits us.
Charles is my dad's name and I've always planned on naming my son after him since I'm such a daddy's girl.
  • Jett William

My great grandfather was named James Everett and was called Jett as his nickname, which we loved and decided to use. William is my fathers middle name. We decided to use names on my dads side of the family since I took my wife's last name.
  • Myles Isaac

Myles because my husband and I love it. Isaac because my husband's grandfather and uncle have this as a first name.

I find it interesting that middle names seem to be the trend for naming after someone else. His older sister is Alannah Jaine and the middle name is a hybrid of my sisters' names.

If we would have had a girl I would have had her middle name be Marie after me, my Nana (very special) and my closest aunt.
  • I think we are going with Lacey Ly'nae. We already have a Leah Marie, Makayla Anne, Evan Craig, Halle Nicole, and Brooke Lauren.

All of our kids middle names come from family names: myself, hubby, my mom, and his grandma. Ly'nae is also a family name. Lacey was the name i have loved since I was a little girl but it never felt right. Husband was the one who suggested it this time and we haven't talked names since. 6 more weeks little one!
  • We are 90% set on Ava Caroline but I also like Nylah (my husband says it reminds him of the Lion King and says no) and Kate short for Katelyn (kate is my middle name)
  • We decided on ours before we were pregnant. It's Katana Josephine. Katana because we like it, it's unique. Josephine for SO's great grandmother. This is his mothers first grandchild and she asked if we'd consider using it. At first I said absolutely not but after thinking about it for awhile it grew on me and the only grandchildren she'll ever have is ours since SO is an only child. Plus I like the combo of unique/unheard of and traditional. Plus lots of nickname possibilities between the two.
  • Brayson Henry. Brayson was the only name we could agree on..and Henry was my SOs grandfather's name.
  • We've decided on Kenzie Ireland Emma My grandfathers name was Kenneth and him and I were very close, so we're using Kenzie as the female version of Kenneth, Ireland and Emma aren't after anyone we both just really loved both names and since all of our other kids have 2 middle names this one had to as well or else it would just sound funny to me.

@EmmyMommy123 Nice i'm absolutely in love with his name we wanted Harper but everyone kept saying girl name and it got annoying. But Harlo with a w is the girls version so i hope our spelling doesnt confuse people. So far everyone ive told has never heard of if so im even happier now:)
  • Simon Frederick. Frederick is DH's great grandfather's name. Middle names have always been a nod to our elders in that way. Simon is from Alvin and the Chipmunks. I joke, but that's what we were doing when we settled on it, hahahah.

  • Piper Rae. DH decided he loved the name Piper and I seen Rae in a forum and it just kind of stuck. She's been Piper Rae since we found out she was a girl at week 14. :) Only 5wks to go and then we'll have a pretty little face to add to the name!
  • David Wendell! David comes from my husband's family and Wendell from mine. David means "beloved" and Wendell means "traveler" or "seeker." We're looking forward to meeting our beloved seeker soon :)
  • Hadley Michelle
I fell in love with the name Hadley when I was in college, so I brought it up to Hubby when we found out we were pregnant and he loved it too, luckily! Michelle is after my best friend, whose daughter is named after me. It is also what my mom wanted to name me, but my dad said it was "too much of a mouthful" with my maiden name. She is thrilled she will get to have a Michelle after all.
  • Our little girl will be Zoey Celes. Zoey was the first name we agreed on and haven't found anything we like more. We like it because it's unusual enough without being strange. Celes is a character from the video game Final Fantasy VI.

  • Her first name will be Arya...we are HUGE Game of Thrones fans, plus I've been involved in music my entire life (aria). We decided that name before our little one was even a twinkle. I want a family name/something with more meaning for her middle name, but also am letting my SO pick the middle name. He keeps teasing me that it will be Chewbacca, but my MIL confided in me that he really wants to choose Marie after my great grandmother and his grandmother (Maria). We also threw around Margaret after both of our other grandmothers. I'll just have to wait and see I guess!
  • We're going with Hannah Alexandra. :)
Early on we were thinking Alexandra for the first name because Hannah was a little controversial being my brother's ex/baby mamma's name, but Hannah has been on my "list" for a loooong time and ultimately we decided to go with what we want and not worry about sharing names with someone we barely see.

  • Matthias Hans. Our last name is Swiss (German) so we wanted it to go well together. First name we just like, and middle name is popular in his family and means John which is my grandfather, father, brother and nephews name.
  • I still don't have a name for my GIRL :(
Her middle name will be Elizabeth after my mom, but I can't decide on a first name .. My son is Channing.. He's got a cool, unique boy name. I want a sweet, unique, girly name for my girl. Taking suggestions lol!
  • I finally settled on little Brayden River. Seeing as I am Stormie Brooke. It sounds adorable and River is different to me. I had another name chosen, but my family didn't agree with it.
  • We are torn between Angelina Mae and Angelina Noelle.  We'll probably just wait until the last minute to make a decision on the middle name but I kind of love the idea of her name meaning Christmas Angel if she comes early (due 1/7).
  • Forrest William
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • Wren Marie

We both love the name Wren, and Marie is my MIL's middle name.

My husband's name is Graham Joseph, @Ljohn43. How funny!

  • Levi Clarence. Levi is the only name we both loved, and we both have 4 letter names so I like that his will be too. Clarence was DHs grandfathers name, he passed away right before we met. If he was a girl he was going to be Lillian Priscilla. Lillian because we liked it, and Priscilla after my Grammie who I miss dearly.
Being a teacher makes it very hard to pick names that don't already have meaning to you, especially if the kiddo gave me a hard time, thankfully the 2 Levi's I've had have both been sweeties!
  • Our little boy will be Judah Gavin Michael. Judah is a named we've loved for a while, Gavin and Michael are special family names. Less than 5 weeks to go!
  • We're going with Logan Ray DH and I are major marvel fans and decided to name him after the Wolverine and his middle name is dads and papaws
  • We chose Amelia Michelle at about week 8...lol. Amelia because I really wanted something old fashioned, and may or may not be a slight Doctor Who reference...
I honestly checked out this thread to see if anyone else had chosen Amelia... I heard it was a popular name but I wasn't sure how popular.  I do have to give you props for being a Whovian :-)

Anyway, we're going with Amelia Bree.  Bree was my grandmother's name, and she passed away when I was a kid.  DH was the one who suggested Amelia (not because of Doctor Who, but we do watch the show).  Our other finalists were Julia and Sophia, but Amelia won out in the end!

  • We have decided on Wren Wade for our little boy. He will have the same intials as his brother Walker Wade and his daddy Wesley Wade
  • Our son is going to be Remington Jayce. Remington was the boy name for our first child but since she was a girl, we went for something else. Hubby's name is Jason so I wanted to use a name that honored him, hence I went with Jayce. He will also have a Hawaiian name in honor of my grandmother.
  • We are naming our little boy Koen Harper. Nothing special about the names, just ones we liked wright away
  • @GinaReed my son's name is Cohen. I absolutely love it! And my baby girl's middle name will be Harper.
  • We aren't committing to a name until we meet the baby, but right now our front runners are:

Iriana "Irie" Suzanne for a girl and Alexander James "AJ" for a boy.

Irie because we got pregnant in Jamaica, Suzanne is my middle name. And my husband's favorite race car driver is AJ Foyt & my Dad and brother are named James so we just needed an "A" name and picked Alexander.
