Its Thanksgiving week. Which means food, food and more food. I have not had a good week. Started with a co-worker BD breakfast yesterday of bagels and Danish, followed by a work Thanksgiving. Today, I had some oranges and an apple, but pizza for dinner. I think I am just going to eat whatever this week, then back on track Sunday. And I cant really feel bad about it.
Last week I went to the gym 3 times! Just walking on the treadmill and light weights, but atleast it is something. This week I will get there twice and really hoping for some prenatal yoga on Sunday.
Since we all seemed more concerned with being healthy than with weight gain, thought you can check in, and tell me your plans for Thanksgiving! Any tricks or tips to stay healthy on the unhealthiest meal day of the year? I plan on loading up as much on turkey and veggies, and just have a little stuffing and potatoes. Although I will not forgo pumpkin pie- its heathy!
Bonus question- who is going Black Friday shopping? DH and I go to the outlets every year as its close to his parents. I like shopping there on Black Friday. Since its outside, it doesn't feel like wall to wall people. And we always get some good deals. But I REFUSE to shop on Thursday. Let those people have a nice holiday with their families. Those sweaters and TVs will be there Friday morning.
Me, after a good shopping session
Re: I almost forgot... Tuesday Healthy/Diet/Weight Check In
Thanksgiving coming up has me thinking about Thanksgiving when I was pregnant with DS. I was trying to watch my sugar/dessert intake so I asked DH for "the smallest piece of pie you can cut, and no whip." When he brought me my pumpkin pie, it was the size of a pencil, with a swirl of whipped cream on it. The first thing out of my mouth was, "Wait, did I forget to tell you no whipped cream?" My family still laughs about it because they all expected me to let him have it about the impossibly small slice.

I use My Fitness Pal app to track my eating and making sure I'm getting enough protein and fruit and veg. Keep my calories around 1600.
Thanksgiving I can't wait. I'm definitely going to let myself indulge a bit, I'd much rather have delicious rolls than dessert (I'm not a pie fan)
I am doing about a 80/20 effort I would say (80 being healthy and 20 being normal for me). I am eating much better than before and I really hope I can keep this up. Don't need to gain any weight doc said if I don't want to and can afford to lose some (but with the help of two professionals).
Don't do thanksgiving here and we also don't celebrate Christmas - so holiday season for me should be easy!
Good luck to you all x
I'm thinking of doing a turkey trot 5k tomorrow morning if I can find a running buddy. I will feel a lot better about the indulgences if I get a good workout in beforehand. I will eat a lot of vegetables and protein tomorrow, so overall, it won't be too terrible.

Tomorrow however I don't care and I'm eating all the things. I'm doing a turkey trot 5k in the morning. I think I'll have earned it.

As for shopping, DH and I have done "Black Thursday" in the past BUT not this year. I told him I am in NO shape to do the madness this year. I really do not think I will be able to handle it. However me and my mom are going out on Friday morning.
(I'm Canadian so we had ours last month)
