Let's talk irrational fears.

  • OMG I'm scared to sneeze too!  It was a slight fear before- cause it hurt my uterus.  But since I've been diagnosed with Previa and put on pelvic rest I'm convinced that sneezing is going to cause the placenta to breach the cervix and cause a miscarriage.  I have no idea how to stop sneezing either- and I'm getting a cold.

I have an irrational fear of spiders. And now that I'm pregnant, I have an irrational fear of slipping and falling on ice or the shower after seeing a Gray's episode years ago where a mom to be lost her full term baby after slipping in the shower.

Well this weekend I was relaxing in the shower and opened my eyes to see a spider descending from the ceiling 6 inches away from my face. It was horrible!!!! I screamed bloody murder and blew it across the shower and it crawled under the curtain. I immediately began screaming for DH and cowered and sobbed in the other corner of the shower afraid I'd slip and fall trying to get out. DH was outside with the dog and finally rescued me several minutes later and got the spider and I completely went into irrational sobbing mode. I'm not a crier and this was only the 2nd time this PG that I have. God help any spider I see in my house from now on, I will murder it's 8 legged ass. My 2 most irrational fears collided in an ugly scene. Poor DH.

@arteduc8 bwahahaha. Not laughing at you, just your great story telling! That sounds freaking horrifying. (I've ended up crying on the shower floor this week with DH too, but only Bc I didn't have the energy to shower. I don't have the great justification you do). I'm glad DH was there and love your kill bill style revenge mission.

This put a smile on my face too! Not in a mean way but it was written in such a funny way! You poor thing. I have the same problem with slugs, can't stand them. I once put my shoe on and ended up with a big fat one between my toes, traumatised me for life!
  • This is going to sound completely stupid...but my son is sick & I still need to use the nose frida on him. I feel like I'm doing something weird to LO every time I sit there and suck snot out of my kids nose. Like I'm somehow depriving the baby of oxygen as I hold my breath. Obviously, it's dumb and I'm doing no damage except maybe inhaling sick yuck germs :/
