What are you craving?

I've been drooling over cheese and mayo sandwiches. Not normal ones, I'm talking like half a pound of cheese greased up with a giant glop of hellmans. 3 months ago I would have cringed at such a thing. Ugh. What totally glutinous unhealthy foods have you all been wanting lately???

  • Sweets! Candy, cinnamon rolls, rice crispies! Brownies, pastries, you name it! Nothing that's good for me :(

  • Just carbs. All. The. Carbs. For dinner last night my husband made broccoli, chicken and garlic mashed. I ate the potatoes and that's it. I feel like a picky 4 year old. I need to find more protein-heavy foods that are appealing to my taste buds right now so I'm not constantly hungry for junk. Greek yogurt is one source, but that gets old.

    I have been eating grapefruits a lot more lately. They're so good.

    Junk: chocolate. nothing exciting.

  • H and I were on a paleo/ clean eating kick for the year before we got KU. He was still cooking me only lean protein and veggies for dinner and I finally told him that he needs to fatten these meals up. Mama needs carbs. I would eat easy mac every night if he didn't stop me. He also is not very happy about my need to constantly eat cheese and goldfish crackers because then he feels like he gets to eat them too. Somehow in the 5 weeks since my BFP, I've gained 3 lbs and he's gained 10! I eat constantly, but I guess my body must need it? Also I know I'm probably losing muscle these days and gaining fat, but at 9 weeks, my pants still fit! Hopefully I can keep my weight gain under control.

  • My cravings change daily. Hourly sometimes. Today it was chinese food so I drove thru Panda Express :neutral:

    Pineapple!!!! Don't get me wrong, I've been eating pretty unhealthy too (super carby), but pineapple tastes sooo good right now!

    And while I don't mind eating cheese, the smell of smelly cheese makes me gag.

  • Nothing at the moment. I go back and forth between wanting ALL THE FOOD and wanting nothing to do with any of it. My most recent craving was, oddly enough, salad with ranch dressing, with a side of breakfast sausages. This craving began at about 10:30 at night and, of course, we didn't have the required items in the house to make it so I made a grocery run because it was the first time in days I wanted to eat something somewhat nutritious.
  • I love these threads bc it makes me feel so much better about my crappy eating habits. I find that protein during lunch is usually the way to go since I only want cheesy carbs for dinner.
  • Watermelon sherbet and fresh blueberries. I could eat it all day, every day.

    Also want sweet potato casserole, cheese curds, popcorn, bagels... All random!

  • Pancakes with extra butter and blueberry syrup, and hot or cold apple cider :-) freaking YUM! I could eat it pretty much every day at this point.
  • I posted this on another board today, but I finally gave in to my 3 day craving for a Burger King fish sandwich and french fries. Possibly because my nose is in overdrive, or quite possibly because Burger King is disgusting, all the food tasted like it was laced with soap. Totally did not hit the spot. 
    But in general, I've had way more aversions than cravings. Cravings are typically anything watery. I made salmon and brussels sprouts for dinner the other night and ended up just eating watermelon. It was the most delicious watermelon ever.

  • No real cravings/aversions.... Except I'm now weird with cheese! Cold cheeses sounds gross yet gooey melted cheese is heaven! Go figure.

    Mostly I'm just super finicky. Something will sound good, then by the time I buy it or make it, it tastes 'meh' .... I'm suffering from chronic dissatisfaction!

    The guilt was real yesterday when I put away a SHAMEFUL amount of Hormel chili & Velveeta cheese

    (Also on a side note: my mother always swears my odd love of eating Slurpees & beef jerky together happened because that's exactly the combo she craved while pregnant with me)
  • This thread has just made me hungry. Things I want now : hamburgers, cheese curds and pineapple.
  • All I want is protein, cheese, and mashed potatoes. I've turned into my father.

    Seems to change daily. Usually if I see something I have to have it. Last night was picking up little BIL from lazer zone. They were having a children's birthday party with cake........so had to have birthday cake! It was late Sunday night and all supermarkets were shut, DH kindly drove us around until I found a mini market/petrol station with birthday cake. Specifically wanted Victoria sponge with jam, butter cream and icing. It was great!

    Oh lawd, watermelon sherbet sounds amazing right now.

    Today, all I want are real fruit popsicles. Real food I have to chew sounds gross to me.
  • For me, mostly bad things.  Fries, cheeseburgers, pizza.
    Although, I do crave juice like crazy!  Grape, orange, apple..  any juice!
  • Oh, and chicken strips with ranch.  Big time!

  • Any kind of ethnic food. Varies day to day and week to week. Have to have thai food, then Mexican, then italian, etc. Cannot get enough. And burgers-guess that covers 'merican food :-)

    Gag! I made salmon and Brussels sprouts the other night too (at my husbands request) and the smell was awful to my pregnant self. I ended up eating grapes!
  • My cravings change every day... I cried over Jimmy John's last week (a repeat of my first pregnancy - what is it with these sandwiches?!) I'm also a fanatic for frozen raspberries and baked potatoes with sour cream and Lawry's right now. 
  • Has anyone had the cinnamon sticks from pizza hut? Those F'rs are GOOD.

  • Strawberries. Or fresh grapefruit juice. They cut through the nausea like nothing else. Before it was bananas and now j can't stand them again. Whatever. I'm still mostly in the aversion phase like some pps. I buy two lunches every day now: the one I hope I'll eat and the grilled cheese I know I'll eat.
