Picture with Santa

Anybody else take LO to get their first picture with Santa? We went to bass pro and the Santa was so awesome! Had a real beard too! You got a free video card with your picture in it and a free 4x6 although we spent 20 and got a lot more and the digital copy. Couldn't believe she was awake and content would have loved a smile but hey I'll take not screaming as a win.

We went today. We had a 15 min session with a photographer. Baby and big brother were not interested. I'm anxious to see how they turned out.

Went to a kids Christmas party put on by DH's employer today and they always have Santa and a photographer. Got a smile from DS but LO slept the whole time!

We went to Belk last weekend. I was so worried she would cry or pull on his beard. She loves to grab my hair. Instead, she just looked super confused!

Wow, I admire you ladies. I haven't even tried it with my 2 year old yet. I know that it only takes one bad experience to ruin it forever. (It apparently happened with me!). Maybe I'll go for it next year.

There just happened to be one at a beer distributor yesterday and it was free (don't judge! We were having lunch at the deli next door!), so we figured we'd give it a shot to start getting DD1 (2 yo) used to him before we oh for pics at the mall.
The picture turned out so funny I laugh every time I look at it!! DD1 wouldn't even look at him, even with me there! And DD2 just had this awesome look captured.

I'm so excited about pictures with Santa!!! Your pictures are so cute.

We're going to the fancy mall in Atlanta and we got the most amazing onesie from Old Navy that we're going to pair with some buffalo plaid pants.

Am I the only one who will think it's hysterical if their LO cries on Santa's lap? I mean, I want him to be happy and smile, but if he cries I will still love it bc it's such a cliche. It is a win/win situation.

Awwww! All the pics are too cute!! I'm still in my paranoid FTM everything and everyone has cooties phase. So I'm not going to the mall, let alone letting him anywhere near our Santa and all the germs he's picked up from the other kiddos. we still haven't been to any stores at 12 weeks, just my aunts house and the doctors office for wellness checks. Hoping by next year I will have let him out of his bubble so he can get Santa pics like a normal kid. (Insert embarrassed emoji here)

We'll skip this year unless DD1 really wants her in the picture. DD1 was 2 her first time meeting Santa. She was first in line and so excited, but cried as soon as I put her on his lap. So we have good pics of her waving and smiling while he walked in, and a hilarious one of her crying.

Yeah DD is scared of my dad who looks kinda like Santa so I think we'll try for that next year. He touched her hand and she snatched it back and started crying! By the end of the visit she let him hold her, but the look in her face is priceless.

@dmbfan46835 I'm the same as you! 9 weeks PP and we're not even going to family Thanksgiving, let alone the mall this year. There's always next year. Glad I'm not the only one.

Last year DS1 was 11 months and he cried throughout the photo session. Call me crazy, but I thought the photo was classic. We plan to go to Bass Pro Shop this year and DS1 should be better but I bet DS2 won't be very happy. LOL

I think the crying pictures are pretty adorable myself lol. I'm sure there is one of me as a baby with a priceless look on my face with Santa floating around somewhere. @slp213psu that picture is priceless! Our Santa said they had a 3 week old there for a picture and I think I would have still been in the paranoid germaphobe stage at that point. At 8 weeks I am a little more confident in her immune system although I regularly give passers-bys are dirty look if they linger to long like don't breath near my baby lol.

We don't "do" Santa in our family so we don't do the pictures either but I love seeing everyone else's crying baby with Santa pictures, they're so funny and cute.

We live in Texas, so we took our 9 week old to see "Cowboy Kringle." He did great and the line was short and not too many kiddos around which made me happy! I think it will be a tradition! But he just looks so small (he's about 14 lbs)!!

You're not alone! I would LOVE to have this photo, but knowing that it's flu season and how many kids Santa will be in contact with freaks me out too much to do the Santa photo this year. Our little guy's 3-month photo shoot is Dec. 5 and we're doing some Christmas-themed photos, so I'll let that suffice this year! Next year I'll probably find a small community event with a Santa photo opp rather than going to a mall ... I'd rather avoid the lines! Hmm ... or maybe we just buy the Santa costume at Target for $50 and have DH dress up like him every year and take a pic ... it would probably be cheaper than buying all those photos year after year, hahaha!

At our town tree lighting ceremony Santa was there to visit and collect letters (you get one back in the mail!) Since it was outside I still may do one inside for cute outfits... but not bad to get 3 boys up there at once!
