Take Back Your Health (aka, put down the Big Mac) Tuesday!

Re: Take Back Your Health (aka, put down the Big Mac) Tuesday!

  • I am midway through a Whole30 which has helped keep me away from 'grey area' foods which I was eating too much of. I've always eaten very clean but the 'occasional treats' were turning into far too frequent a thing. I'm a bit of an all or nothing person so 'everything in moderation' does not work too well for me.

At the end of this Whole 30, I'll just go back to my normal clean eating but reintroduce butter and occasional dairy since small amounts don't really bother me. I'll continue to stay away from 'grey area' foods except on legitimate special occasions (as opposed to every week when my office celebrates snack day or every Sunday when my SO brings home tubs of Haagen Das).

My goal with the Whole 30 is to just cleaning up my diet overall so I can keep on track the rest of this pregnancy.

My longer term goal is to include more of the foods I dislike (ok, strongly detest) but which are very important for the baby (and me) and to introduce more moderate activity throughout the week. I'm pretty good about going to Crossfit on the weekend, but during the week, I've been slacking off on even walking and I definitely haven't been taking any after work classes. On weekends, I can work out in the morning before I've eaten, where as during the week, I'd have to do it after work. Which means working out with a great big food blump which I personally find very uncomfortable.
