I thought we had something but now I cant find, so maybe I hallucinated that?
Today was slow so I spent the last few hours on etsy and target putting together my dream nursery. Honest feedback, is it too grey??
Share you inspiration ideas too!! This is the fun part of being pregnant!

Also, love the silver/gray, blue, and yellow!
  • Yes, I knew we had something!!!
Thanks for the feedback. I swear, our entire house would be grey, yellow and teal if I could have it my way. Oh yeah, it kinda already is ;)

  • My bedroom is grey and teal! I love it.

  • <3 gray with colors in general. Gray is easy to decorate with because many colors look nice with it-- and it's very easy on the eyes. One of our best decorating choices that we made when we moved into our house was painting all of our ceilings a very faint shade of gray rather than keeping the white. It makes everything look cozier and doesn't have that brightness that white has at night.
  • Nope, love the gray!!
  • Love it!!! I'm really impressed with your spreadsheet organization!

You should have seen my spreadsheets when I was researching islands for our destination wedding. It was madness!!

  • Another fan of gray here! I've been going between light gray and mint green or light gray and light yellow. I want to do one accent wall gray with this decal on it. Our nursery is travel themed since we like to travel. :)

  • I honestly may kill DH if I even get into thinking about the new baby's room. So, I'll talk about DD's. I did hers in teal and peach bc I am not a pink kinda girl. It's worked really well bc those two colors really go with everything. I love the gray!

  • Love it. We did grey and navy blue for DS. & with grey, you can mix up the shades and it still looks good. Makes shopping a lot easier.
  • I love your color scheme! I'm debating on keeping my nursery the same (since we are having another girl) or changing it up a little. I love the idea of something fresh but also kind of attached to what I've already got. I'm so indecisive...

  • I plan on doing grey, mint, and peach.
  • We are doing greys also! Can't go wrong with grey. Going to go with soft greys/soft greens and white furniture and go with a rustic farmhouse vibe.
  • This is the vibe we're going for.  Beige, white, and navy with cherry wood furniture.  Will probably add blue or pink accent colors in the wall art depending on baby's sex.

Also doing grey, with white and maybe yellow or another spot colour.

Thinking of adding elements from my favourite childhood books.

My concern is, because I hate if things doesn't match, is that people will buy pink and blues for the room. Which would annoy me (I know I sound ungrateful).

Do you ladies tell people stick with this colour scheme? Or is that perceived as rude?

I would think that most people will stick with your registry. Also, I would never buy someone home decor- it's too personal. If someone buys you something off registry most likely it will be clothes or toys. And if you do get something you don't like, just return it. Say the baby pooped on it or something if they ever ask where so and so gift is!

Nahh you're good! Do you plan on having a more boy/girl theme? I know you are waiting to find out the second until your 20 week scan (I think we are the only ones!)

  • I went registry scanning last week. We're going for navy blue, coral, teal, and gold. Girly but but pink bubble gum girly... Not really my thing. Anyway, it was so hard to find things in neutral colors. Everything was pink, blue, any maybe a green or yellow. I felt really limited. I had to mix and match for our registry and I'm knitting blankets to match because the options just weren't there.

Thanks! We don't register (or I don't think we do) where I'm from, but it's something I will look into. Might solve my problem (even though it's a ridiculous one).

  • We will be doing a Very Hungry Caterpillar themed nursery. My MIL will be making all the linens, since Pottery Barn Kid unfortunately no longer carries this stuff.

  • Im wanting to go with white and grey polk a dots and chevron. Im having two so evenbif they are diff genders it will work. If they are both girls i will add in deep magenta and teal, both boys teal and orange, different genders i will stick to just teal. I like neutral base but pops of color added in things like baskets or pillow on the chair. We also have a small 10x11 foot room for two babes so staying to the light tones with help it jot feel so cluttered.
  • We are going with gray for sure ... Then we will decide the other color when we find out the sex ! I have been on Pinterest like crazy looking and both boy and girl themes !
  • I painted two walls of my office hot pink last year, and now it's changing to baby room. In theory I'd like to paint it, but painting our entire interior last year still has me put off from painting ever again. So unless husband suddenly gets into painting (it's always been me doing that stuff), there's a good chance nursery will be hot pink, boy or girl haha

We had everything pretty much done for DD and I think it will work for girl or boy this time. The colors are aqua, coral, and yellow. I made the curtains, recovered the rocker, painted and changed the knobs on the dresser, painted the walls (pink petal white) and I also refinished/painted the stand next to the crib. If this little one is a boy, I will recover the rocker again, but pretty much everything else works as is. The walls don't look extremely pink and the curtains will help turn that more blue/gray anyway. We also still need to hang the artwork, but you can see it in the pictures.

    I love everyone else's ideas :)

ETA: My dad is also making a changing table to match the crib (he was almost done when we lost DD) and it will go on the wall not in the pictures.
