Re: Thursday Ticker Change -- 11/19

  • Week/Fruit: 14/Lemon  -- 2nd tri from all sources!  Yeah!

Rants/Raves:  Raving that I'm feeling MUCH better.  Ranting that I put away my "skinny pants"; Raving that I still fit in my "normal pants".

    Upcoming appointments:  Next Wednesday.

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery?  My husband and I talk about this anytime the lottery gets huge.  We hardly ever buy tickets.  He would like to more often, but I am pretty against it.  When I DO buy a ticket, a tiny part of me thinks I'm going to win lol.  Anyway....

    • I would want to hopefully keep my name out of the media
    • Buy our parents new homes
    • Buy any business that my brother wants to own/operate
    • Put some money in a trust for my SIL, BIL, and niece
    • Build our dream house.  Nothing waaay over the top.  Maybe a "modest" $1 million house ;)
    • Create a family foundation for annual charitable giving
    • Invest the rest (which would be the vast majority) in securities and business opportunities
    • I would take six months off with LO, but then go back to work and hire a nanny.

I've obviously never thought about this before. :)

  • Week/Fruit: 15 orange!

Rants/Raves: I really need to read common symptoms for a couple weeks in advance... I had a bloody nose this morning, apparently that's normal

    Upcoming appointments: Dec 10

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery?
My husband and I would love to buy a big chunk of land and build a timber frame house. He will probably retire to be a stay at home dad and hunt. I have to keep working for the health insurance ;)
  • Week/ Fruit: 12 plum

Rants/Raves: Some days I'm finally starting to feel better than others... wondering if I will ever feel completely normal again! I'm not a fan of these headaches and nausea. I miss food so much, I can't wait until I can actually enjoy food again.

    Upcoming appointments: Nov. 19... Today!!!

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery?

Buy a house with some land. Help some family. And hopefully put the rest aside to be smart with.
  • Week/Fruit: 13/peach

Rants/Raves: I had my OB appointment yesterday with my Dr. whom i've known since I was 13. When I found out it was a belly check and not a US ( I was high risk last pregnancy due to LEEP procedure, in turn getting US every visit) she said she would send me for a scan if she couldn't find the HB. Well, she 'couldn't find' the HB ;) so I got to see my baby yesterday! Nothing makes me happier than seeing that LO kicking around in there!

Raves: Energy seems to be coming back and I'm eating more salads and less dill pickle chips.
Rants: It's so hard to sleep through the night! Also headaches, upon headaches, and vomiting now that i'm in the second Tri- what. the. hell.

    Upcoming appointments: mid december.

    Questions for the Group:N/a

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery?  So easy- I'd pay off my school loans!! If there was anything left over, I'd buy a private jet and a home in Hawaii.
  • @Jenly --  What was the length of time between your LEEP procedure and when you got pregnant?  I had a LEEP last June.  Kind of a tangent here, but she didn't numb the entire area... YOWCH!  She said I can go back and numb more and I'm like let's just get this over with.  Anyway, they will do a transvaginal U/S to check my cervix at my A/S.  I'm just wondering when you started your regular ultrasounds?

In my lottery scenario, I'm talkin' like the real deal lottery of $300 million or more.  So you would have a mere $180 million after taxes, but I think we can make due.  You can definitely afford a private jet!

  • Week/Fruit:
    13/Peach

    Rants/Raves:
Feeling pretty good and hungry! My appetite appears to be back, along with sex drive ;)

    Upcoming appointments:
Not until 12/3. Had NT last week, and baby was so wiggly!  So fun to peek.

    Questions for the Group:
Will you find out sex at all? If so, will you find out before the Anatomy Scan? I'm stuck waiting for January and it seems like so many people on here already know!

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery?
Start a college fund for both kids (DD & this baby), buy a new SUV, and maybe buy a bigger house. Otherwise, help my inlaws who are raising my nephew in their retirement. And maybe be a SAHM ... I would give anything but alas I'm the breadwinner so it's a nonstarter.

  • Week/Fruit: 15/Orange

Rants/Raves: Rant: my morning sickness has subsided for the most part but I threw up this morning at the smell on my toddlers dirty diaper. Rave: my DH is truly amazing he will cook and clean for me when I'm exhausted or not feeling well he is just so awesome!!

    Upcoming appointments: next Tuesday

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery?

Pay off my house and law school loans and be a stay at home mom. I'd love to be with my kids full time!!
  • Week/Fruit: 16! Avocado

Rants/Raves: Rave: I'm loving feeling baby wiggling more! (Slight) Rant: My boobs are still feeling super heavy and are filling out even more. I'm thinking that since I just weaned I may be in for breast tenderness for a while yet. I'm feeling a bit dumb and clumsy the past few days. I accidentally spilled part of my soup in my tomato salad at lunch today, and almost boiled a pot yesterday (I forgot the water initially when making mashed sweet potatoes). Other symptoms are getting much better.

Upcoming appointments: Next Wednesday. I'm excited to hear LO's heartbeat again and to schedule my anatomy scan to be sure that everything is developing as it should-- and figure out if LO is a boy or girl so I can stop calling him/her baby...or Henry or Guinevere.

Questions for the Group: Anyone else experiencing a slight uptick in gray hairs? I acquired a few (like, three) while pregnant with DS. I swear in the past week I've gotten 5 more. All in all, it's not too many, but I've always said I'd gracefully go gray since I've never dyed my hair. I just didn't realize I'd have a small collection of grays before 30.

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery? Pay off the rest of our student loans, quit my job to home with DS and LO at least until they're in school. Invest some. Finish our basement and put on the addition DH designed years ago that we can't afford yet. Replace our roof because it needs it badly.
  • Week/Fruit: 13/Peach

    Rants/Raves:Nothing too crazy this week.

    Upcoming appointments: Monday! :)

    Questions for the Group: None

GTKY: What would you do if you won the lottery? I would pay off all our debt, stash some away, invest some, and probably keep working because I love my job (at least part time anyway), oh and I'm sure we would travel A LOT!

I had a colposcopy and LEEP done about 5 years ago. With DD I was categorized as high risk. This time around, my OB said that they are a lot less concerned. She said that if you had one full term, heathy pregnancy, they take the high risk category off of your chart.
