I love the Parks n Rec show.
If you could treat yourself to a day of guilt free purchasing whatever you want and/or doing whatever ridiculous thing comes to mind, what would those things be?
Right now I would get an amazing pedicure because I can't reach my feet and they are looking rough (thankfully, it's winter). I'd also get a manicure because my nails are growing and look pretty. I'd buy a new maternity coat (which i can't justify, so I plan to spend the winter with my belly popping out of my regular coat) and get new flooring for my house. Random, I know, but it's gross. LOL.
Buying the best possible kitchen tools and totally decking out my kitchen. And then flying to France and going to pastry school.
This! Exactly this! ^^^ 1st though, I'd get Jo & Chip to build the most awesome, custom 6 bedroom home on like 6 acres and help me furnish and decorate the whole thing! And yes, this would all happen in a single day! Annnndddd, now back to reality lol

I second the buying tons of kitchen gear - I love cooking and baking and fun new toys.
As far as ridiculous, I would loooooooooove to live abroad for a few years in Germany or Switzerland. I had always planned to study abroad, but when my dad got sick and passed away, I was needed more at home. Then I got engaged right after graduating, so I never got to live out that dream.
Maybe in retirement? Life has a way of just happening no matter what your plans are, but I love where I'm at now so it's all good. I've got an awesome husband and a baby on the way. No complaints about that!
My mom did take me on a big graduation trip to Germany and Switzerland, though, because she knew I had given up on that dream of actually living there. She's pretty effing amazing for doing that for me.
Not ridiculous item - maternity jeans. I really just need to bite the bullet and invest. Going to have to drop 50+ bucks with these damn long legs.
Donna-esque treat yo self items - some NICE new boots. I really need a pair, and damnit - I deserve them!
Crazy, big-ticket item - I'd buy a luxury SUV and I would have our basement finished with no expense spared.
@cmerribury I snagged a like-new looking maternity coat (Liz Lange so nothing too fancy) from Goodwill for 12 bucks. Keep your eyes peeled at resale stores!

Or even hit up facebook (if you're active there). I started complaining about my coat and a friend mentioned she's getting rid of hers, I just need to pay for shipping. So sa-weet, gently used winter maternity coat for 8.95!

@flowerpower5838 check Kohl's for boots. I got a super cute pair that were originally $120 (I would NEVER spend that much on ONE pair of ANY shoe) on clearance for $19.99! They're the tall leather riding boots

I'd go and get a massage, pedi, facial, and invest in a nice pair of winter boots. Nothing fancy. Just needed haha.
We're off to Banff for Christmas for a little family vacation and SO has promised to fulfill my wish on going to a spa. I'm excited so it's not to far off till my wish is granted.
I would purchase every attatchment for my Kitchen Aid mixer (I really love my mixer, it's sunshine yellow), a new set of knives and pots and pans, some new stone bakeware...
And then, I would do some shopping on ModCloth, while enjoying a pedicure with my sister.
I would also accept a house. Yes, a house would be good too.
I would go to an island in the Mediterranean, sit by the pool all day, sip a nonalcoholic cocktail, and get a 3 hour long massage. Then I would go shopping and buy ridiculously overpriced handbags and shoes.
i would spend all my money on making me feel pretty again i guess, haha. this pregnancy has taken a bit of a tole on my self-confidence. i would get my hair done, mani/pedi, massage, & buy some nice new clothes for myself! if only..
I take mine back. I want my little one to teleport from my uterus into my arms when she's due. Painless birth with no recovery. And I'd magically get skinny again and fit in all my size 4/6 clothes I refuse to let go of. I'll take that instead.
I mentioned to my husband a couple of weeks ago that I would like a gift certificate for a prenatal massage for Christmas, and came home that night to a gift certificate on the counter with a note saying "I know you wanted this for Christmas, but you deserve it now." My massage is scheduled for tonight and I am unreasonably excited. Feel like a very lucky gal that my husband "treats" me so good
I would LOVE a state of the art kitchen. However, I would start a small independent bookstore with a coffee shop inside. That's my dream if I ever come into money or win the lottery.

I would hire a decorator/organizer to come decorate and get me all new furniture and organize all my storage so everything has a place and looks like it came out of a magazine.
Vom on carpet in weird places. Ew. We laid laminate in the master when we moved in but the living already had new floor. We had the carpet cleaned upstairs because it's nasty and it's still gross. I want to replace it so badly but it's expensive and we just had to replace our entire fence
So I always wondered...WHO thought that it was a good idea to put carpet in the kitchen / bathroom? I mean, someone must have thought that at some point, right?
I would definitely remodel our whole house top to bottom. Not that it's bad or terribly old (mid-90's), but it's not what we ideally imagine. And the new house would include a huge walk-in shoe closet that I would fill with ridiculously expensive designer shoes (and purses while I'm at it).
And a Maserati would be nice with a large bow on top.
I have a flight coming up and man do I ever want to fly in one of those DELUXE cabins, where you get to lie down on a bed and a bunch of awesome meals are included. I never sleep on planes because I just can't fall sleep sitting up. If I could just stretch out, oh man...
I have to like everyone who mentioned getting a massage as I am a massage therapist myself! I have been receiving them every 3 weeks and am thinking about going every 2 here soon!
Ok, so if I could do anything...buy a bigger home that is already fixed up with the perfect master bedroom/bathroom. Awesome kitchen, with all the fancy fixings! And the most perfect nursery! Oh a girl/ftm can dream!
I would get my hair done, have someone do my makeup, and get my pictures taken by a professional photographer (that always make me feel pretty for some reason). Then I'd go out to eat someplace fabulous and have all the seafood I wanted. Then I'd go take a long nap at a hotel. A very quiet hotel with a bed like a cloud.
Right now I would get an amazing pedicure because I can't reach my feet and they are looking rough (thankfully, it's winter). I'd also get a manicure because my nails are growing and look pretty. Yes to both of these! This will be my THIRD winter of being largely pregnant. Had I known when I got pregnant with DD how things would go, I would have invested in a maternity coat. Maybe I still should. I go back and forth on it. Every floor in our house needed to be refinished/replaced when we moved in. So far we've replaced carpet in two bedrooms, but next year will (hopefully! Saving up!) be the ultimate treat yo self moment of refinishing the hardwood floors in three rooms and the stairs. CANNOT WAIT. And the day I can demolish the previous owners' attempt at tiling the bathroom floor . . . oh glory! I completely understand gross floors and the desire to be rid of them.
I would remodel top to bottom. We moved in last year and the house still has a lot of its 1969 charm. Bathroom has a blue toilet and teal tub. Kitchen we would replace back door with a sliding one and add some space. Redo the hardwoods and replace the carpet in the basement.
As for doing something for myself I would love to drive up to Quebec city and have poutine... I could really go for poutine right now.
Did you watch this episode on FX this morning too?? I'd really like a pedicure, followed by a relaxing meal at a restaurant, and then maybe a few hours at Barnes & Noble picking out a few new novels and sitting in a comfortable recliner with some hot delicious calorie-laden sweet holiday Starbucks drink. Actually, I might do exactly this one day next week, that doesn't seem like it would break the bank...

In reality, a massage would be perfection, followed by solo window shopping and an ice cream.
