Stretch Marks!!

Ive got stretch marks EVERYWHERE. What stretch mark cream do I need to buy? I'm new at this lol

Re: Stretch Marks!!

  • Stretch marks are all about your genetics. No cream in the world can fix it. That being said I use Bio-oil to keep my skin smooth and less itchy. I love how it smells. Cocoa butter smells like shit to me. Good luck

  • unfortunately stretch marks are a hereditary thing. creams arent going to do much/anything for you. they usually fade after the birth of the child when the skin goes back to its normal place.
  • Agree with PPs, it's all about genetics. I do use Mother's Blend after I shower to keep my skin moisturized  and it does helps my skin feel less itchy from tightness.

Once they are there, they are very hard to treat. While they are still red/ purple you have a higher chance of eradicating them if you see a dermatologist and follow a specific treatment plan; but once their turn white they are there to stay.

I haven't developed any on my belly yet (Knock on wood), but I am using the stretch mark cream from Mustela twice a day in hopes to prevent them, if possible. My BFF from medschool who is a dermatologist recommended it to me.  https://www.mustelausa.com/shop/stretch-marks-double-action.html

Omg I agree! Cocoa butter makes me gag!! Always has!

  • Genetics. Can't stop them. But I like using baby oil for moisturizer.

  • a cream won't prevent them it take them away but it will help with itching etc. I just user whilst body butter on my belly when it gets dry or itchy. I like how thick it is and you can buy any scent.

  • @NachosAndPeaches ... body butter for life! Oh I love it!

I get Burt's Bees Mama Butter because it basically has no smell. Like PPs have said - mostly just helps with skin feeling tight/itchy... I've convinced myself it helps prevent though because I got one stretch mark when my bump popped, and started a serious regimen of body butter twice a day after that. Haven't had any more stretch marks (yet) and I've DEFINITELY gotten bigger. I know it's in my head, because stretch marks are definitely hereditary, but it makes me (and my skin!!) feel good.

I got stretch marks way before my belly popped some how (and all over my back) and they haven't really changed ever since. I just like the feeling of using body butter. Mine has olive oil in it and no smell but it makes my skin so damn soft.

I started using this last week and I LOVE it. No more itching and no overpowering smell.

I use FatFace Skin Care Baby Butta - https://fatfaceskincare.com/baby-butta/
Like PP said - not goign to stop them but makes skin much more comfortable.  With my last PG the skin around my waist, hips, butt was SO SO SO dry!  It was horrible!  Love this all natural skin care line!  Plus whatever is left over can be used on baby!
  • I use Palmers oil treatment. It works wonders for taking the itch away and my belly and thighs feel silky smooth.
  • I love coconut oil mixed with 100% shea butter. Makes my skin so soft! Won't help prevent or treat stretch marks but it makes my skin itch much less
  • I get the fruity scented ones from bath and body works. The peach one is heavenly. They have a honey one too that's subtle and really nice.

Slightly off topic, but if you are into scented creams (I love it, makes me instantly happy), my absolutely favorite lotion of all time is Eau Rose from Dyptique. Dyptique is a Parisian candle company (best candles ever BTW), but they also make some bath & body products. I have the Eau Rose body lotion and hand cream, and OH MY, it is the most amazing scent in the world. The scent also lingers for a looooong time, which I love. In the US, I believe you can find Dyptique in the higher end department stores, of which there should be plenty in Vegas. :D

Then you must check out this lotion!

My perfume is Chloe, which is a rose based scent also, and I love it so much. In fact everyone seems to love it as I get compliments all the time. :)

Yes it's amazing, I've used it for the past 5 years or so. When I was a cards fellow in MN, people would come to my cubicle to smell me, I'm not even joking. And it's not like I'm bathing in perfume!!! But the scent captures the attention of ppl.
If you like Chloe, you will love Dyptique's Eau Rose products (candle, perfume, lotions).

The predominant scent is rose, but it's nothing like you smell and say "I've smelled this before". It's pretty unique, classy and lovely.

The candle is amazing too and even though it's pricey it lasts a long time and burns well. And after you're done burning the candle, the glass container makes an excellent decorative piece - I use mine to hold make up brushes etc in the bathroom. :)
  • Since I completely changed the subject of this thread (lol), here's another tip for the ones who love a good scent:

    www.libraryofflowers.com

Love their products! And I love getting the hand cream as small presents for ppl (hello, Christmas!), they come in adorable boxes and that in itself makes me happy. :) I ordered the perfume sample trios to get a sense of which scents I liked most, and then ordered soaps, liquid soaps, bath gel, bath salts, hand cream and perfume in my favorite scents.
