My husband and I just found out that we are pregnant. We are just 4 weeks. I am having a lot of nervous feelings. What is the likelihood of having a miscarriage this early on? I am so excited to be a mom and don't want to loose this baby. My mom had 2 miscarriages when she was young. I am just so nervous.
Re: 4 weeks and nervous
There are threads like these in BMBs for reassurance, usually. I guess you're due in May? It's hard not to worry about these things, but the chances are higher that you won't than you will.
The biggest thing to remember is that if you were to MC it's because the baby isn't viable and that doesn't make it your fault. Start taking care of yourself and that's all you can do for the time being. The worrying doesn't help, but it's easier said than done. Good luck!
OP, where you are at, a majority of pregnancies do progress to term. Personally, I didn't find that chart very encouraging until 6 or 7 weeks along, the numbers are just too high early on.
Remember that at this point there is nothing you can do to prevent a miscarriage from happening, its all down to whether there are genetic abnormalities or not. Do your best not to worry (great advice coming from someone who can't not worry of course) and enjoy being pregnant.
