@mrstrax, I think it was you who mentioned googling postpartum stuff to have it prepared. I've done some reading and talked to a handful of mom friends, but would love more advice on what you found most helpful!
A good question to ask on your hospital tour is what they send you home with for you - mine sent me with an extra pair of the mesh undies, 5-6 of the crazy giant pads (I used them for the first overnights), plus ibuprofen, a stool softener, tucks (witch hazel) pads, a little thing of nipple cream and (my favorite) an aerosolized topical pain killer called dermoplast - I'll be looking for a second can as I ran out with DD.
I'd recommend buying: a pack of "heavy" maxi pads a pack of "regulars" a big box of thins/liners a pack of cheap cotton panties a size big so the giant pads fit. Granny panty height is especially good for if you have a c/s. Nipple pads for leakage (whether or not you BF) If BF - a full size tube of nipple cream
Not totally related, but an app (free or paid) or notebook for tracking diapers/feedings and your meds. I didn't have any prescription pain meds after my vaginal delivery, but I was paying so much attention to DD is was impossible to remember if I took my ibuprofen at midnight... Or was it at 2... 10:30?
I've also seen people make ice packs out of pads, but didn't do it. I just sat on a bag of expired frozen peas if I wanted to ice down there.
Recent/upcoming appointments: I have an appt on Thursday. Just a check up. But it's with the Dr who will be doing my repeat c section, so I'm excited to talk to her since it's the first time I'm seeing her during the pregnancy.
Rants/raves/symptoms?: No rants. Feeling pretty good. We found out we're having a girl. All is well at the moment.
Questions for the group?: None at this time.
GTKY: What is your least favorite housekeeping chore: Laundry!!
Recent/upcoming appointments: a/s next week, wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Rants/raves/symptoms?: rant - FTM and am impatient to feel the baby! I think I felt some bubbly things this past week but nothing I am positive about. rave - preggo dreams have been SUPER cool lately! Riding elephants, working in a submarine, just to name a few. symptoms - stretchy-stretch pain, gas gas gas, lack of motivation to get any work done.
Questions for the group?: Good so far. Thanks for the postpartum supplies lists and tips!
GTKY: What is your least favorite housekeeping chore? Dishes and putting away laundry. I don't mind the stain-treating, the washing shift to the dryer, or even the folding and sorting socks. I HATE then having to put all that folded laundry away in drawers or having to hang it up.
Week/fruit: 17! And I have no idea. Cinnamon roll,maybe? Wait, that's not a fruit, it's my craving.
Recent/upcoming appointments: Just had one this past Thursday, which was the first appointment where I didn't get to see her via ultrasound, just listened via Doppler. Doc ordered up a blood test for me that I still have to go to the lab for; the wait was too long on Thursday and I had to get to work, Friday I didn't make it before they closed, and today I had to work through lunch. I'll go tomorrow, I swear.
Rants/raves/symptoms?: I've outgrown the maternity bras I had to buy at 8 weeks because I was overflowing my regular bras. I don't even want to know what my cup size is these days. Oh, and there go the tears again. That's a totally rational reason to cry, right? I'm so freaking weepy today.
Questions for the group?: None at the moment.
GTKY: What is your least favorite housekeeping chore? I hate everything about the dishes; as far as I'm concerned, the instant dinner is over, they become disgusting and unsanitary and I don't want to touch them. Even the clean ones can be gross, like when you're unloading the dishwasher and a little bit of water splashes down on your feet. But folding/putting away laundry is a close second.

@AGK2015, same here on the bras. I was really hoping to hold out at least a few more months before having to size up again! Ugh.

I get so mixed up when you two quote each other! I've been going bra free since I moved up from DD cup. Just sports bra, or tanks under my shirts.
