Hi everyone, I am 37, hypothyroid and tested positive for MTHFR (I am on Synthroid & Metanx). I have had 2 losses in the last year, the most recent one was at 13 weeks in August due to Trisomy 18. Just got a BFP a couple of days ago and blood confirmation yesterday. The numbers are not great, I was 15 dpo yesterday and Hcg was only 20 and progesterone 8.5, they put me on progesterone supplementation.

I am getting another blood test tomorrow to see if it is progressing or if it is a chemical pregnancy. I hope I can stick around but to be honest I am not too hopeful, I barely have any symptoms and I usually do very early and I am cramping and I usually turn pregnancy tests a lot earlier...I guess time will tell, waiting sucks, praying for a miracle!

Anyone have really low levels and have everything turn out fine? I am so nervous..

I'm sorry for your losses. In terms of numbers, HCGs can vary wildly and you wouldn't know they were "too low" unless they weren't doubling normally. Also, every pregnancy is different symptomwise. Good luck tomorrow...I know every minute can seem endless when you are worrying.

Yes, I am clinging on to that hope but I am also scared to get excited as the nurse thinks it might be a CP. I am going in the morning and should have results in the afternoon, just happy that they give results the same day and I won't have to feel in limbo for days...

First of all, I'm sorry for your losses! I had a trisomy 13 loss and have MTHFR, so I can relate. I don't remember my numbers exactly, but I do know that they were low because the nurse told me not to Google it and I did...and it was scary. That pregnancy was viable, though and I just have birth to her, a healthy little girl, in September. I'll say a prayer for you tonight, good luck tomorrow!

I got my results today and the numbers are still not great. They went from 20 to 31 Hcg so they obviously didn't double and the nurse said they are on the lower end and still "iffy" we need to do another blood test on Friday. I am 17 dpo according to FF so they should be higher.

I will be in limbo again until Friday afternoon. Still praying for good news...

Please send all your good vibes, I would really appreciate it, I don't think I could handle a 3rd consecutive loss

Thanks! It sure is torture..I am also scared because I've been reading that low Hcg could indicate an ectopic pregnancy or chromosomal issues and I've already been down that road before and I am terrified. I know I should get off Google but it's hard.

Also, if Hcg doesn't rise like it should, what happens then? I forgot to ask the nurse...do you just wait to eventually miscarry or what do you do? This is confusing, my previous losses were very different and I still have a bit of hope that I get my miracle!

I'm hoping for all the best for you, truly, and I'm sorry for your previous losses. I lost my first pregnancy to Turner's.

I'm being tested for MTHFR and will hear back next week... it's fairly likely I have it as my grandmother, mother and aunt all have it.
Glad to know I'm not alone.

With my 2nd mc i was given the option to mc naturally or have a d&c. Some ppl say they tooks meds to jump start the mc but my drs did not mention it. Since i had a d&c a few months prior their preference was to wait and mc naturally as long as i could handle it. That was my preference as well and they gave me meds for nerves/anxiety and pain. Good look, thinking of you.

Just got the call a little while ago, still rising but very slowly, they didn't double, went from 31 to 45 Hcg...

They want to continue monitoring and I have to go back on Monday again. She said that the Dr. wants to do an early ultrasound at 1500 Hcg (If I ever make it to that).

The nurse thinks it could be a chemical pregnancy or just a late implantation. I asked her if this could be sign of a chromosomal abnormality and she said yes, but to just keep being positive and see what happens on Monday.

This waiting is agony, I just want to know already! I will be 5 weeks tomorrow based on LMP and 45 Hcg, that is crazy! Has anyone been through a similar situation?? It is so painful and frustrating

I worried about etopic, too, but every story I read said that they were painful so I would try not to worry about that. I know it's hard, though. I'm so sorry, at least today's halfway over, then you only have one more day.

Yes, the stories I read have me terrified but it is so hard not to read about all the possibilities. What worries me also is not getting an answer on Monday and that they just have to keep monitoring me until I reach 1500 Hcg to get an us...who know how long that will take, I wonder if they can diagnose me before then.

I hope I do get an answer, I will keep you posted.

Ya, I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to Google. May type in whatever you've been searching, then add "success stories?"

If you're still worried about an etopic, then I would imagine that they'd either see that or not see anything in your uterus.

You're testing so early, though, I've never been for an ultrasound before six weeks. They did pull my hcg after my loss, with my next (and second/most recent) pregnancy and while I don't remember what my numbers were I do remember that they didn't quite double (and I was over two weeks from ovulation).

I am currently 5w 1d and I am going for another blood test tomorrow morning, but since my levels were only 45 on Friday, nurse mentioned they would do an ultrasound at 1500, when will I ever get there? I have so many questions, I will ask tomorrow.

I just want to know, but have a strong feeling it could be ectopic ( I hope I am wrong). It just seems impossible to have these levels and have a viable pregnancy. Apart from the grief of loss I am already imagining I will have to wait a while to try again and I have been waiting already soo long. Great holidays I am going to have

I went today and betas came back at 65, still extremely low and definitely not doubling. I met with the nurse and she said that the Dr. doesn't think it is an EP because my progesterone and estrogen were not that low, they think it could be a blighted ovum or a chromosomal abnormality but since it is increasing they will keep monitoring me. I have to go back on Wednesday for my 5th beta and the Dr. is going to do a scan to see if she can see anything or get a hint or what could be going on, she might not see anything but wants to try, especially since I am so nervous about ectopic.

To be honest I have already surrendered to the idea of this loss, there is just no way this is viable, I am 22 dpo...

By the way, the genetic specialist that we saw recently said that there was a 3% chance of this happening again, yet here we are (maybe)..

Yes, I hate to be part of those statistics, I feel like I keep falling under the 1%-3% of the bad things that can happen.

Had the crappiest day at work as well, so I just want to go to sleep and have this day be over, even though tomorrow I know will be even harder.

I am so appreciative of all the women on this board. Fertility issues can make you feel so lonely sometimes.

Hi everyone, I went to get an ultrasound and my RE didn´t really see much. Of course my levels are so low that it would be very difficult to even see a sac. She was checking for bleeding and trying to rule out an ectopic.

They drew blood for another beta and I will get results tomorrow, then we will decide if I should just stop progesterone. She thinks that possibly if I wasn't taking it I would´ve already started bleeding. Once we get confirmation of what we already think, I will stop pg, wait for a week to see if I miscarry, if not I have to go back and see what is going on. They will monitor me until Hcg goes back to 0, gave me prescription for pain.

We discussed many options and started talking again about IVF as this is my 3rd consecutive loss, and with my age and medical history it would be a very good option to do PGS, but it is insanely expensive here in Miami and my insurance covers nothing... (over $20k)...

I am terrified to keep having abnormal pregnancies and losses but I really can´t afford IVF, I am so frustrated...

I will post possibly my last update tomorrow. I appreciate so much all the well wishes and I pray for each one of you that you get to hold your precious healthy babies very soon and that all your wishes come try, hopefully I will be back soon to join you again!

That does sound like a great idea, but at the same time, only my mom and best friend know what we have been going through so I am not sure we are willing to share it with the world right now, I am sure we would have a lot of people willing to help which would be great but I at the same time I think that would put an enormous amount of pressure on us, unwelcome advice and many times hurtful comments,...I will one day open up and talk about it with friends and family but once we are successful, it's just too much pressure right now..
