I don't like no-shave November. I do like facial hair but I think people act super annoying about it. Why does it have to be November? That's my month and Thanksgiving time. They should have picked a boring month like August.

Can I get away with saying that about Breast Cancer awareness and Halloween???
Edit because this is the third time in two days someone has said my birth month is boring... You must not live by the beach, and kids where you are must go back in September. Going to the beach with no kids around, and it being less crowded is heaven!
@AmadorRose - Okay, that does sound pretty sad. Husband's beard is all the way filled in, and he keeps it neatly trimmed (no Duck Dynasty nastiness here). It does get softer, too, as he grows it. Beard conditioner is our friend.

I live an hour from the beach and kids here do go back in September. I just meant it was boring since there are no holidays. I think that about April, May, June, August.... Honestly I have always hated summer so that's why. Didn't mean to offend. I guess that is my UO: I HATE SUMMER!

Oh... If you "need" a holiday to celebrate, you can celebrate my birthday! (Totes pulling the Leo/AW card :P )

Haha! Yes there are birthdays! That is honestly the reason I planned to have this baby in April! To make April have something to celebrate! And their birthday won't get sucked into a holiday like mine does with Thanksgiving! I honestly think it's pretty cool to have a birthday in August since there is nothing else going on.

It's SO funny when it grows out though. I cannot take him seriously if he hasn't shaved in a couple of days.
Caitlyn Jenner winning the Arthur Ashe award...disgraceful
Caitlyn Jenner as Glamour Magazine top 25 women of the year...disgraceful
**I support a person's choice to be whoever they want to be...I do not support the idea that one person who has refound fame in being a socialite should be honored with such awards. There are SO many other transgender men and women who struggle through their life without the aid of billions of dollars or fame to ease the transition...why not offer them the awards if that's the angle they are playing at?
I couldn't agree more! And that is all I am going to say about it.
@kalanieileen... check out no-shave.org for the full description. But the basis is:
The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.
I am curious how many people actually donate. I get a little tired of social media campaigns to bring attention to something but not actual funding and research. I am all about it if they actually support the cause, but I think growing a nasty beard just because it is November is a bit misdirected.
Oh trust me, @kalanieileen, there are a lot fewer people who donate than participate! But that's the beauty of informing people. I tell you, you tell someone else, and the movement spreads! Most people join the bandwagon because it seems "cool" but if I can inform one person who changes their thoughts about it...it's a start!
DH participates, but is very vocal about men's health considering he is a testicular cancer survivor. For those that don't know...that's why No Shave November started---to raise awareness about men's health/men's cancers.
But I'm with you on the don't kiss me part...that furry, overgrown goatee (which is normally trimmed at the stache and super sexy) only catches your food and drink, only to release it on my face.
Yuuup... DH has always had a goatee and last year switched it up to a beard and i like it! It surpised me that I did but it does compliment him nicely. That being said, ditto - keep that shit trimmed about the mouth area or take your business elsewhere!
Black Friday shopping makes me shudder. You will never catch me out shopping on this day. I don't really like shopping to begin with, and the thought of fighting through masses of people makes me want to scream. I don't care how much I can save on whatever item. It just isn't worth it to me.
I protest Black Friday. I was working a retail job when it was popular to open at midnight. That was a nightmare. I can't imagine what it would look like now. I do all our shipping online or I go out before Thanksgiving.
I may or may not have written a letter to the CEO of REI for shutting down on Black Friday. I will be doing more business with them in the future.
I have a feeling this may be very UO but here it goes... I DO NOT LIKE NO SHAVE NOVEMBER. I DO NOT LIKE FACIAL HAIR ON MEN. DH DO NOT TRY TO KISS ME WITH YOUR FURRY FACE.
I HATED facial hair... until I met DH. I've seen him clean shaven once. It was really weird. Now, so long as it's trimmed nicely, I'm a happy lady.
My UO: I hate the man bun. The only two men with long hair who don't disgust me are Clay Matthews and Chris Hemsworth.
I wish I could make a living cutting off man buns. *shudder*
*GASP* I loooooove long hair on men. I'm talking about long long hair too. It might be an islander thing when DH puts his hair in a man bun.. COME TO MAMA
I like long hair on men too but not if it's in a bun! Then it doesn't look like long hair anymore! I like it loose and crazy if it's going to be long. You know rock 'n' roll hair.

Yessss mama like Tarzan long I don't know who this is, I googled long hair Hawaiian men and YUM

I'll add him to the list, but partially because of the tattoos. I'm a sucker for some good ink.
My UO is how much I HATE touching shopping carts & doors in public places. I think I die a little inside every time someone doesn't hold the door for me and I have to touch it lol. You best believe after I have to touch a door though I whip the hand sanitizer out!

Wait til LO is chewing on the shopping cart (insert cry-laugh emoji that I can't insert because mobile).
Ps I hate when people say "just wait". I hate it! Which is why I said "wait" Hahahhaha. I'm teasing/being jestful though. So I guess just wait would have been okay?
First BFP 12/2012, MMC at 9 weeks
Second BFP 6/2013, resulted in DS, born 2/23/14 :-)
Third BFP 5/2015, natural MC at 6 weeks
Fourth BFP 8/2015, hoping for sticky little brother or sister to H!
Proud SAHM to our little monkey H.
Pro Vax, extended breasftfeeder, ring sling and stroller loving mama. I don't judge you unless you don't vaccinate!

Omg, I think I'll go insane lol! Ugh, at least most shopping places now carry the sanitizer wipes but still! Gross.
This reminds me- I have a shopping cart cover packed away with my baby stuff somewhere. Score!
My UO: I love Black Friday shopping! The thrill of being out and scoring a great deal is awesome. My best friend and I have been meeting up in my hometown every year since I can remember for our annual black Friday shopping adventure. Most of the stuff I buy is usually for me- I guess that's another UO. I do have one big rule- I don't go out on Thanksgiving day.

I believe most of the crap people buy on black Friday is for themselves....

Even with a shopping cart cover, they still find a way to the cart itself and start nomming.
Facial hair on some men is hot but not on DH. Sadly he looks like a homeless man so I always force him to shave.
Also I have no idea what you guys are talking about with a red cup and offending Christians.
My UO: I hate eggplants with a passion. Like with all my heart. In fact I have a phobia of eggplants. I will literally cry if a piece of cooked eggplants touched my hand accidentally (I worked in a restaurant, it happened once and I almost broke down in front of a customer). Yes, I know I'm a weirdo.
That being said, I think it's way too early to be putting up Christmas decorations. It's like as if Christmas is crammed up Halloween / Thanksgiving / Fall's butt that it can't wait to come out. Yup! I said it! Christmas, you can wait your turn! <ducks>
Edited to Add: I realize it sounds awfully Grinchy, but I really love autumn and its holidays and I just feel like we rush to Christmas too fast.
Also, I think the Starbucks red cup was a marketing ploy and the outcome was probably far better than what they had expected. I don't usually do Starbucks, but I really want to go there now for one of those cups.
THANK YOU! I feel like so many people rush Christmas. To me, time passes so quickly on its own (especially when you have little ones) I am not trying to make it go by any quicker. Enjoying each season, each holiday, each day as it comes ya know.
My UO is that people buy their kids way too much stuff they don't need. This is on my mind because of the holiday season ramping up, and all the toy catalogs arriving in the mail telling me I need to give junior "a Christmas he won't forget!" I think parents are tricked into thinking they have to buy them a bunch of stuff, and we see our peers buying their kids a bunch of stuff, so we want to do the same. Kids need time and space to just be, they don't need more stuff.

Agreed! DS's birthday is at the end of October so I feel like we are still opening gifts by the time Christmas comes. So for Christmas, we do:
Something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read
Then, from others when they ask for ideas, we say things like a Zoo pass, $ for the 529 plan, etc.

Yup, my 2 year old's bedroom is more than half full of toys. She only plays with a few so I'm thinking about boxing it up for #2 and not getting anymore toys at all for a good while.

My sisters will box up toys that their very little ones aren't using, store them for a while, and then introduce the "new" toys as rewards or special treats. I've always found it both hilarious and brilliant.

My UO is that Cable TV is overrated. I could probably live without a TV altogether and be just fine.

My other UO is that I hate peppermint anything . We have candy canes out for patients at work already and people seem to love them... Me? Not so much.
