This one is a close second if the other is too warm, just not sure if the tutu will bother her belly/cord. So it may be the outfit for when she meets our military "family"
@rachel10488 I bought the pink one for my baby girl I will also be taking her home with it were I live is very cold so I'll be putting her a long sleeve plain white onesie , socks and a newborn beanie
The first one is newborn, the second is 0-3 months so I guess it depends how big she is... (Also for the 0-3 months I brought a hat & headband in case it's too cold out our heat is fluctuating right now so who knows what it'll be like in 2 weeks)
Edited to say: her diaper/hospital bag is way over packed to the point it's kind of embarrassing... Won't even zip shut... I may have to size down but I'm afraid I won't have enough clothes and she might have an explosion from either end...
I'm leaning toward the legwarmers and side snap shirt combo. Kinda feel like it will work for many sizes. Warm fleece zip up in case it's a particularly cold day? In SoCal it can be a warm or cold winter day. Also packing a warm fleece, and regular receiving blanket.
My Nana knit DD 4 little sweaters... Some have matching booties and most have hats. This is the smallest one, so I'm going with this one. She does amazing work!
@nram25 same here! But its so soft and i love the brown and pink together. However after seeing she is almost 6.5 pounds already i am packing a bigger outfit too lol
For baby boy arriving just before Xmas Footie with little presents all over it and a red snuggle warm one for over it. Took a chance with preemie size. Both my kids who were 7lb 14oz & 6lb 14oz (17 & 18 inches) where swimming in their newborn outfits!
I got them both from Target. The one with the red tie is newborn and I got it this morning. The other one is 0-3 months size and I got it on clearance a few months ago. I am hoping he will be small & fit the nb one when he comes out!! Lol. Idk if you can really see but it comes with black corduroy pants. Anyone know where I can get a women's shirt with penguins on it so we can match since his tie has penguins on it?
I'm only packing newborn because my LO is measuring below the normal 25-75 percentile range in growth. I've only been able to pack on 7-8 pounds at 36 weeks and she's dropping in percentile/borderline IUGR so if she does get to go home with us when I'm discharged from the hospital anything but newborn would be too big. Preemie clothing is too small because my doctor said she'll be a little over 5 pounds if they can get me to the dates they are aiming for. If I was having a normal pregnancy I would pack newborn and 0-3 just in case the LO was too big for newborn size clothing. I still look at newborn clothing and can't imagine near full term/full term babies sometimes even swimming a bit in those; but FTM here!
My daughter was 5lbs15oz when she was born, they loose a little weight while in the hospital which brought her down to 5lbs. She was in premie sizes for about two weeks.
@jmassoni85 thanks for the tip! She is now only in the 12th percentile and I'll probably be induced next week sometime so DH might be running out to find somethings cute in preemie. We've got a ton of Gerber clothing that once washed and dried seemed significantly smaller than the other newborn and 0-3 clothing but I want a cute going home one too.

Yep, my 2 LO's 7lb 14 (came home close to 7) and 6lb 14 were swimming in the newborn outfits. Here's DS (the 7lb , 18inch one) in his newborn Xmas outfit ... He's 3 days old here. A little hard to tell but the the legs were way to big. He didn't wear 0-3 until he was 3 months. So this time I splurged on a preemie outfit for coming home

So tiny, brings back memories aww. I remember having to fold the size N diapers down from her being so little.

I know I washed the 0-3 recently too and it looked so much smaller. But yes have a couple premie outfits just in case, becuase even at 5lbs my DD was swimming in premie clothes. To this day she's still petite, the smallest one in her class.
It's down to this or a red cable knit one piece that isn't here yet.
I bought that outfit from Target, I absolutely LOVE it!! I was thinking about that being her going home outfit too, but I can't seem to find matching mittens and socks to go with it
This is what our LO will come home in. It's in the 60-70's during the day and 50's at night so still kind of warm. She should be here next week or the week after (will be induced by 38 weeks due to a cord abnormality, low fluid and my borderline IUGR). I would post pics of the actual clothes but those have been vacuum packed in my hospital bag since my 5th PTL scare at 34 weeks!! Also bringing two other onesies just in case.
Quick note someone told me onesie may be painful or uncomfortable for baby first couple week because babies ambi cord hasn't fallen off stomach yet. Anyone had this problem? I have the cutest onesie but don't want to hurt him.

And I heard pants aren't a great idea because the waistband could irritate the umbilical chord stump, which is why I'm thinking onesie... So hard to know!

My son wore a onesie home from the hospital when he was born two years ago and wore onesies all of the time before his cord fell off. He never seemed to be bothered by it. I also have a onesie for our little girl to wear home once she is born.
My DS had a problem with the pants rubbing a little but no issues with anything else. I also put him in sleepers that were a little bit bigger at first so nothing was too tight around the belly button.

We put pants on DS all the time before the cord stump fell off. We just rolled the waist band down a little so it was well below the stump similar to folding diapers down away from it to keep it dry. It was never an issue.
